Yes. My dad has had 2 iMacs since 2004 & 2005 and like I said, he's only had the speaker problem.
I'm not one of those brainwashed idiots that Ang is talking about, I don't try to preach to everyone about how Apple is superior. I just think they're really good products and I like using them. My Macbook works better than any PC I've ever used and I'll probably never go back.

my mom told me how she had to stand on line at Macys for a cabbage patch doll for me, for christmas. and dont get me started about tickle me elmo when i was working as a cashier at Value City.
I didn't get cabbage patches that year, but the next year I got them each a talking cabbage patch and they were awesome. They carried on conversations with each other. They were the creepiest toys ever. I loved them.
For me it was Voltron. My dad refused to do lines though, so I think he just overpaid someone who waited on line for one. Cause he got the shit like last minute. haha. I remember my last minute freak out. Or maybe he hid it. Fuck, who knows.....

waiting for the PS3 was the worst shit ever. cops came and pulled us off line so THEY could get on line. one dude was arrested bc he was so irrate. it really was soooo unfair. i wont get into playstation anymore because of it.

My brother and I wanted Cabbage Patch dolls so bad that year, but my parents were not going to go through the mayhem so they got us these weird knock-off versions that my crazy aunt made us. So weird. We didn't get our dolls until two years later.

Perhaps I should have qualified "In Real Life" I don't know anyone whose stuff has lasted. I "know" plenty of people via the internet whose have, but in terms of tangible see-it-with-my-own-eyes data, I haven't seen it. Not once. On the Apple discussion- I bought a PowerBook in 2002 which my sister uses to this day. No hardware issues. I have a MacBook Pro from 2006 which again hasn't had any hardware problems at all. I have an iPhone 3gs which only had an issue when I dropped it in water. Also, I work in a university IT office and we spend much more time and money on Windows machines and their issues. And yes in that report we took into account that macs are about 40% of the machines on campus.
One last thing I heard from a coworker (a philosophy professor, no less): Apple convinced the world that white people problems were everyone's problems.
