Fortunately no, they were at school.  Their grandparents came to pick them up.  There was media EVERYWHERE.  That footage was probably police taking them to get their things....I think one was a fifth grader?  They were a little younger than my brother.

My friend always said he'd take us to the playboy mansion to party with Uncle Jon Lovitz but never made good with those promises.  And I use friend loosely cos he could easily end up on a douche emo thread if there ever was one.  He used to pick me up in his giant SUV and blast Dashboard Confessional and sing along with his baseball hat on backwards.

The police respond:
At about 6:20 a.m., police responded to a 911 call that shots had been fired at the family's home in the suburban Encino section of Los Angeles, a house Hartman had dubbed "The Ponderosa."

Hartman When they arrived, police found a 9-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl, believed to be the Hartmans' children, unharmed in the house. As they were moving the second child out of the residence they knocked on the bedroom door where Brynn had barricaded herself in. Officers then heard a single shot.

They entered the bedroom where the shot originated and found the bodies of the couple, mothinless on a king size bed. She was wearing a white cotton T-shirt with the number 9 on the chest (also from The GAP), and brown argyle socks. Phil Hartman was lieing on his right side, Brynn's head was resting on a pillow.

Huh, it was a long time ago so I guess the media were just nicely stalking the kids at the school AFTER everything that had happened.  They'd ask parents as they picked up their kids about it.  It was really sad, I think they were pulled out of the school shortly after that and went to live elsewhere.

Yeah, it was so sad.  There were a lot of really rich, really fucked up families at that school, actually.  What's sick are people like Andy Dick supplying cocaine to a woman on the edge, and in light of what's happened since, making fun of it and the people who cared about the victims.  From what I've read, Hartman was an awesome guy.

Run away.  It's owned by the Christian Coalition.  The only use I ever had for In N Out was hanging out in the parking lot in high school on a Saturday night.  It was like the Dairy Queen of urban sprawl.
