Unidentified Man's Body Discovered Being Eaten By Crocodiles On Luxury Golfcourse

Honest mistake, it could happen to anyone - obviously the crocs had a few too many at the bar & mistook the luxury golf course for a luxury buffet.

The body of a man found surrounded by crocodiles in a lagoon at a Canc?n golf course late last week has been identified as a crafts vendor from Playa del Carmen.

The body was found near the 18th hole of the golf course, which is located in the city?s hotel zone.

Officials have determined that the man drowned after he was dragged into the water by a crocodile.

Video footage of the corpse being eaten by crocodiles later hit social media, and on Saturday family members in nearby Playa del Carmen saw it and identified the victim as a 44-year-old handicrafts vendor.

The newspaper El Universal reported on the weekend that the Nichupt? lagoon system is overpopulated by crocodiles, whose habitat has been invaded by humans. This has caused ever-increasing reports of crocodile sightings in residential areas and golf courses located on the lagoon?s shores.

Non-governmental organizations have documented and studied the number of specimens and behaviour of several crocodile species, proposing handling measures and preventive actions that could lead to fewer encounters and attacks between humans and crocodiles.

I tried to find a decent "croc on golf course" pic but I could only find golf course alligators. I refuse to get caught posting an alligator in a croc thread when I've spent years mocking people who confuse them.

It's a pretty pathetic standard to have as far as standards go, but I'm sticking to it.

There was vid taken of these particular crocs but this link below is the only copy I could find in the extensive 80 second search I did. Pretty much everything but the pond & foliage was blurred out to make it tolerable for Mirror readers, so all you really see is pond & the occasional croc tail.

Anyway, it would probably be a good thing if people stopped treating huge reptiles as a novelty feature in tourist areas.

They don't have to be big enough to eat you alive to pose a lethal threat - they only need to be big enough to hold your head under water long enough to make you lose consciousness.

Crocs gone wild! This is the 2nd story about a croc eating someone. Talk about nightmare and PTS... I'm NEVER going within 40 miles of them things I say 40 miles because I'm fat, they're going to run for this meal. I'm sure that I'm 3 days worth of croc food.

RIP my dude. I'm sorry this happened to you.

Anyone here a link to the video?

I know. I'm curious to see what the family noticed or seen causing them to identify him from the video.
