Nicholas ?Duffy? Fudge, a cast member on National Geographic Channel?s Wicked Tuna, has died. He was 28.
The series announced the sad news alongside a photo of Fudge in a tweet on its official Twitter account Sunday.
?.@NatGeoChannel and @Pilgrim_Studios were saddened to learn that Wicked Tuna cast member Nicholas ?Duffy? Fudge passed away this week,? the statement reads.
?Duffy was the first mate on Captain Tyler McLaughlin?s fishing vessel, Pinwheel,? the statement continues. ?We join his family and friends in mourning his untimely loss.?

Greenland - Nicholas S. ?Duffy? Fudge, 28, of Greenland, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 19, 2018.
He was born August 1, 1989 in Topsfield, MA a son of Ronald Fudge Jr. of Topsfield and Judy (VanDeVoorde) Fudge of Greenland.
Nick graduated from Portsmouth High School. He excelled in any sport he played, and among his favorites were fishing, hockey, lacrosse, skiing, snowboarding, and surfing.
His passions were fishing and the outdoors. As a child, Nick began tuna fishing with his father and grandfather. After becoming one of the top sport fishermen in the country, he earned a place on the National Geographic reality show Wicked Tuna for multiple seasons. Nick also treasured the environment and he took seriously his responsibility to protect it.
Someone once said, ?Nick was always the coolest kid, but he had a way of making you feel like you were just as cool.? His presence could light up any room and he had a heart of gold. He was known for his smile, his fearlessness, his adventurous spirit, his mischievous sense of humor, and giving big hugs.
Nick now begins his next adventure to locate his missing cell phones, ID?s, and credit cards.
In addition to his parents, he leaves his ?younger? brother Cody Fudge; paternal grandfather Ronald Fudge Sr. of Topsfield; maternal grandparents Terry & Connie VanDeVoorde of Nashua; girlfriend Ali Currier of Holderness and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.
He was predeceased by his grandmother Marilyn Fudge.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and asked to dress ?Duffy style?. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
