The family of a 28-year-old missing man has offered a $10,000 reward for anyone with information that can locate him.

WOODTV reports Graves was last seen with his girlfriend July 1 at the Electric Forest Festival in Rothbury. His family said the two got into an argument and Graves left the concert to return to his tent. When Graves' girlfriend went back to look for him, he was not there.

There was a 2nd man missing from Electric Forest, but he has returned home. I think some articles are confusing him with Kevin Graves. Kevin has not been found at this point.

Graves knows his son attended the second weekend of the music festival with his girlfriend. Graves was told the two argued and each went to different parts of the massive festival grounds.

That's when information becomes unclear. Graves has been told his son was high on drugs and was in the first aid station for a period of time before being kicked out of the tent.

The last communication with Kevin took place in the afternoon of Sunday, July 1 around 2 p.m.

Graves says the short text from his son said he'd soon be paying his dad back for a small loan of money. Now, 22 days later, the Graves family still has so many unanswered questions.

"We're at a stand still," said Graves. "We don't know nothing."

Graves believe his son is still somewhere on the Double JJ property -- while at the same time hoping he is safe somewhere else.

"If you see him, take a picture please. I don't care where he's at, if we know he's OK, we'll be happy with that," said Graves.

The search is continuing two months later for a Highland Township man who went missing from the Electric Forest Music Festival.

28-year-old Kevin Graves was last seen the evening of July 1st. The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is investigating, along with the Michigan State Police Hart Post. Family members say extensive searches have been conducted of the 1,000-acre Double JJ Resort in Rothbury, where the festival was held. Volunteers assisted, along with members of Shiawassee Search and Rescue. His parents reside in Howell and say there’s been no activity on his cellphone or credit card.

The family is now at somewhat of a crossroads, saying they are not giving up but don’t know where else to search or what to do. Some tips have been received but nothing panned out. The family is still offering a $10,000 reward for credible information and a Facebook page is titled “Help Us Find Kevin Graves”.

    https://nypost.com/2018/10/08/man-wh...d-cult-sister/

The search for a man who disappeared from a music festival in Michigan is now in its third month – and some of those close to him think he might’ve joined a religious cult.

Graves had an argument with his girlfriend and told her he was returning to his tent to rest, but he was nowhere to be found later, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department. But his sister, Kellie Farley, now believes he might be alive and living with a fundamentalist Christian group called the Twelve Tribes that some believe is a cult, MLive.com reports.

“It’s hard for us to believe, because he’s not the type of person to just up and disappear that way,” Farley, 34, told the website.

Farley said she’s received nearly 100 messages in the past several weeks speculating that her brother might have joined the insulated group – formed in Tennessee during the 1970s – that has an estimated 3,000 members, including communities in New England and Canada.

The group’s recruiting tactics include inviting people onto one of two distinct double-decker buses, vehicles that have been spotted at similar musical festivals for the past several decades, particularly those featuring acts such as the Grateful Dead, Phish and Bob Dylan.

“People had messaged me that were at the festival and said, ‘Oh yeah, I saw one of these [buses] up there,’ ” Farley told the website. “ … My gut was like, this is it.”

Farley said she contacted the group via its toll-free number on its website and was told that no one had reported seeing Graves. She plans to make additional calls this week but is less convinced that Graves had joined a cult than she initially was.

Authorities, meanwhile, said there’s no evidence to support the theory that Graves joined a cult.

“I have no evidence to support in any way that anything nefarious happened to him,” Oakland County Sheriff’s Sgt. David Bach told the website. “My feeling is he walked away from there; his goal was to be a part of the lore of that festival, of people who disappeared.”

Bach said Graves discussed his intentions prior to the leaving for the festival.

“What money he had – he drained pretty much all of his banks,” Bach said.

Graves’ girlfriend at the time told authorities he had been acting “odd all week,” Bach said, and accused her of having a sexual relationship with another friend at the festival. Sources told MLive.com Graves also had issues with alcohol and substance abuse and had been treated for bipolar disorder.

Farley said her brother – who identified as an atheist – stopped taking his prescribed medication roughly two months before his disappearance because it made him lethargic. And another friend who attended the festival said he doesn’t believe Graves joined the Christian group because it condemns drug and alcohol use.

Graves also spoke about his desire to grow marijuana, friend James Tierney said.

The father of Graves’ former girlfriend, meanwhile, had a blunter belief about what happened to the man who lived in the same house as he did for 18 months.

“He walked away with a plan in mind,” Richard Mobley told MLive.com. “I think he purposely did it to make people think he was dead.”

Well I wasn't expecting that. He may have asked that group to lie and say they hadn't seen him esp if disappearing was his intention in the first place. Such an odd thing to wanna do esp when you have loved ones. Strange.

If they didn’t already know Kevin Graves’ name, his family hopes festival-goers heading into Electric Forest this year will soon.

Members of Graves’ family will be at the annual music festival this week handing out flyers about Kevin’s disappearance from last year’s Electric Forest.

The 29-year-old from Oakland County has not been seen or heard from since he disappeared from a campsite on festival grounds on July 1, 2018.

He remains missing despite considerable efforts to find him that have included ground searches using K-9s and dozens of volunteers, dive teams searching nearby lakes and flyovers. His family is active on social media with a Facebook page dedicated to Kevin’s disappearance.

“We are not done with the Kevin Graves investigation,” said Lt. Jeff White with the Michigan State Police Hart Post. “We have not forgotten.”
Immediately following his disappearance, Kevin’s family members arrived in West Michigan, checking in at homeless shelters and hospitals and even searching the streets of Muskegon Heights and the beaches of Lake Michigan. A month after he disappeared, Kevin’s girlfriend cut off communication with the Graves family, Gary Graves said.
