Ericka Claire Hammond, 34, a resident of the Forest Grove community passed away on June 2, 2018 at her home.
Ericka was born on April 1, 1984 in Guatemala City, Guatemala. When Ericka was 2 1/2, she was adopted by Kathleen Walden and she moved to the United States at that time. They lived in Scholl's and Ericka attended Groner Elementary School, Thomas Middle School, Hillsboro High School. Ericka graduated from Banks High school with the class of 2003.
Ericka and Erik met through work and they dated on and off for 10 years before they married on August 16th, 2014 in Beaverton. They made their home in Beaverton until moving to Forest Grove a year ago.
Ericka was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed cooking and was always trying new recipes. She also had become a very good baker and liked to bake bread but most especially was very proud of her pies. Ericka always took great care in everything she did. Ericka was an avid reader, liked to draw and paint, she enjoyed photography and listening to music. When Ericka was younger she loved to ride horses. Ericka also liked the outdoors and nature.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents.
She is survived by her husband, Erik, a daughter; Jadyn Hammond of Forest Grove, her mother; Kathy Walden of Forest Grove, her in-laws; Kevin and Brenda Hammond of Forest Grove, a sister; Jessi Walden of Gresham, two aunts; Marylee Walden and Laurie and her spouse; Bill McKibben, and uncle; Don Waldon and his spouse; Elene.
