Maria Jimenez-Rodriguez (29) missing from Houston, TX since 6/21/18

    https://www.chron.com/news/houston-t...n-13021581.php

A 29-year-old Houston mother vanished earlier this week, and now Texas EquuSearch teams have launched a search.

Maria Jimenez-Rodriguez was last seen Thursday morning around 8 a.m., when she left for the law firm where she works as a paralegal. She dropped her 3-year-old daughter off at her next-door neighbor's house in the 6900 block of Texarkana, then came home to get her gym bag and purse.

Her brother watched as she left the house to drive to the office. But a short time later, Jimenez-Rodriguez apparently texted a co-worker saying she'd be late.

That didn't raise any red flags at first, according to the missing woman's sister, Gloria Jimenez.

A little bit later, the coworker received a text saying that Jimenez-Rodriguez was headed back to her neighbor's to pick up her daughter, who wasn't feeling well.

But that text may not have really come from Jimenez-Rodriguez, her sister said. The babysitter said she never texted with the missing mom and never talked to her.

A few hours later, the co-worker received another text, this time saying she was heading back into the office. She never showed up, but hours later, the co-worker got one more text.

"The message said that two Hispanic males were following her in a vehicle," Jimenez said. "And that was the last text."

Early the next morning, the missing mom's car turned up about six or seven blocks from her house.

Jimenez said she had no idea who might want to harm her sister, and stressed that the woman's daughter has medical issues and needs her mother.

At about 8 a.m., Texas EquuSearch and volunteers gathered in northeast Houston near Wayside Drive and Wallisville Road to begin looking for Maria Jimenez-Rodriguez.

The Houston Police Department said she was last seen in the 6900 block of Texarkana St. in Houston.

Jimenez-Rodriguez was last seen wearing a dressy t-shirt, possibly green, and pastel colored slacks. She also had on brown slipper shoes, a pink Apple watch and was carrying a tan purse.

HPD says has very distinctive moles on her face. Her largest is by her right eye.

Police say the case of a Houston mother missing since June is now a homicide investigation.

Maria Jimenez-Rodriguez is described by family and friends as outgoing, intelligent, responsible and devoted to her 4-year-old daughter Destiny.

The single mother was a paralegal working at the Milledge Law Firm for the last six years.

"She would always show up to work about 15-20 minutes early to make sure everything was set," said Samuel L. Milledge.

On June 21, 2018, she never arrived.

Her family says she left her house on time that morning, dropped her daughter off with the babysitter and went to work in her silver truck.

But 30 minutes after she was supposed to be at work, she began sending strange text messages to her boss and co-worker, first telling them she would be late. Then more than an hour later, she sent a message saying she was turning around to go pick up her toddler from the babysitter.

"It was kind of weird messages, didn't seem like her at all," said Brenda Lopez, her co-worker.

Maria never arrived when she said she went back to the babysitter's house, and later that evening, Lopez received a text from Maria's phone saying: "Sorry I'm ok and Des is fine but this red truck with two white boys or Hispanics seem like they been following me call you from a safe place."

Friends and family do not believe that was Maria texting at all.

"She is very intelligent. She would have not had time to text all that. She would have just dialed 911 or On-Star on her vehicle," said Jimenez.

Her silver truck was found the next day, parked a few streets away from her east Houston home.

"Parked, locked as if nothing had happened. Someone just parked the vehicle there and walked away," said her sister.

Texas EquuSearch volunteers were called in, but found nothing during a mid-summer search.

After months of investigation, Houston police say this is now a homicide case.

They tell us they have a person of interest, but will not say more.

If you know anything about the disappearance of Maria Jimenez-Rodriguez, please call Houston police at 713-308-3600.

One year later, and a Houston mother is still missing.

Maria Jimenez-Rodriguez was last seen on June 21, 2018 when she dropped her daughter off with the babysitter and went to work in her silver truck.

The single mother was a paralegal working at the Milledge Law Firm, but on June 21 she never arrived to work. Her co-workers said it was unusual and out of character.

Investigators say her co-workers also said that they started receiving strange text messages from Jimenez-Rodriguez saying that she would be late.

Her co-workers questioned the legitimacy of the text messages because they didn't sound like they were coming from Jimenez-Rodriguez.

Later that evening, police discovered Jimenez-Rodriguez's vehicle parked a few streets away from her east Houston home.

After a month of investigating, Houston police turned the case into an homicide investigation.

Maria Jimenez-Rodriguez (29) missing from Houston TX since June 21, 2018-believed to have been killed and dismembered with a chainsaw by Erik Arceneaux (48)

    https://abc13.com/houston-man-wanted...insaw/6442018/

The United States Marshals Service is fervently looking for a Houston man who remains a wanted fugitive. The agency described 48-year-old Erik Arceneaux as a "violent and dangerous man" who needs to be brought to justice.

Arceneaux is charged with the brutal killing of Maria Jimenez. Investigators with the Houston Police Department accuse Arceneaux of dismembering her body with an electric chainsaw and disposing of it.

He's been wanted by the law now for more than a year and remains on the run.

Eyewitness News Reporter Steve Campion sat down with Deputy Marshal Alfredo Perez.

Perez appealed to the public to help them catch who they called a "violent predator."

"We need the public's help," said Perez. "We know that people were there that knew about this. They're not being cooperative with law enforcement. If we get a credible tip on where this guy is laying his head, he's going to be asleep one night, and the door is going to come crashing in. A team of U.S. Marshals is going to arrest him."

Perez said someone out there has a tip and can help deliver justice for Maria's family.

"Erik Arceneaux has been sought by the U.S. Marshals Service ever since the warrant was issued for his arrest," said Perez. "We have Houston police officers as well as deputy sheriffs from Harris County on the task force. They've been deputized as U.S. Marshals. It gives them a greater reach to help with their investigations in finding this fugitive."

Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering a $5,000 reward for information on Arceneaux's whereabouts. You can report his whereabouts and remain anonymous by calling 713-222-8477or visiting the Crime Stoppers website

Police are looking for a man they're calling a killer on the loose. Erik Arceneaux is charged with murdering his girlfriend, Maria Jimenez.

He allegedly bought a chainsaw and trash bags the day she went missing.

"That's an animal, that's a monster," said Gloria Jimenez, Maria's sister.

Jimenez went missing in June 2018, and from the beginning, Gloria was suspicious of Arceneaux.

"He was very interested in helping and trying to find her, but he really knew what had happened to her," said Gloria.

On June 21, 2018, Maria dropped her daughter off with a babysitter across the street. Later that morning, her co-worker started getting strange text messages. Maria was a paralegal.

"Maria was a very good person, who arrived at work early, the day that she didn't come, we got these weird text messages," said Maria's boss, Sam Milledge of Milledge Law Firm, PLLC.

Her boss says the messages didn't sound like something Maria would write. For example, one of the text messages said Maria had to go back to the babysitter for "Dest", referring to her daughter Destiny

"We knew something was wrong because she doesn't refer to her daughter Destiny, as 'Dest'," said Milledge.

In the days that followed, Maria never returned to work, but her boss says Arceneaux showed up at their office. Her boss' son, who works at the firm, met with him.

"He came over to the office one evening. My son wanted to interview him. My son had some suspicions," said Milledge.

Detectives made disturbing discoveries. They say surveillance video tied Arceneaux to Maria's abandoned truck. Cell phone towers also tied him to the location and he allegedly bought a chain saw and trash bags after she went missing.

Her body hasn't been found, but Maria's family knows who took her life.

"This is a monster. Why would he do this?" said Gloria.

Now, they want him caught so they can get closer to justice, not just for Maria, but also for her daughter.

Destiny turns 6 on October 25.

It didn't come up when I googled the name with mydeathspace, it usually works so that was weird. So I went through the missing persons thread and scanned the names on each page and found it there. Dedication

That's exactly what I did (google with mydeathspace). I actually just tried finding another thread that way and it didn't work either. Normally that's a pretty fool-proof method, so not sure what's going on.

You do have dedication-you get the MDS toaster of the day!
