I have to admit, I really don't think they did it. I think the police are cracking because this rich British family has been spending a lot of money making them look bad. The tragic truth is children disappear across the world all the time, without leaving a trace. The family has been grasping at straws for proof, and the police are doing the same by accusing them.

    Re: Madeleine McCann

I really hope they didn't do it. At work when she was first missing, they were making and selling Madeleine ribbons and raised quite a lot of money. I've noticed that since all of this has happened, all of those people who were proudly wearing their ribbons appear to have gotten rid of them.

There are rumors that they may have access to that money to use as a defense fund. If that is true, that's what REALLY blows.

The trustees of the fund voted on this yesterday I think it was. They decided that they are not going to let them have access to the money to use to pay for their defense.

EDIT - Here's the link to an article on it

That's great. If they really killed her, that would have sucked.

I think Olivia killed her and is framing the parents. She knew this scenario way before it came out. I'm totally suspicious.

Maybe I should start my own defense fund. A million quid would be handy.

It seems Richard Branson is now offering to help them out with paying for their legal costs.

    Another bizarre twist:

"The search for Madeleine McCann has taken a dramatic turn after a Spanish website published a photograph taken in Morocco last month which, it is claimed, shows the missing four-year-old."

There was a forensic expert on tv a while ago discussing this picture saying that they can try and match up the shape of the face to see if it matches Madeleine's but that they weren't sure how successful it would be as it is such a bad photo.

I saw this on fox news this am. The pic is strikingly similar. However, they have said that with the amount of "biological" within the vehicle, she could not have survived. The DNA match is 100%.

I misspoke. They said "strikingly similar" I was not yet quite awake enough to make a call.

    Re: Madeleine McCann

This is the picture in it's original size. Oddly enough, you can see it better this way:

And, here's a pic of Maddie:

The main similarity (which is common for a lot of people), is the cowlick at the top left of her forehead. Most of the pics of her show her hair parted on the opposite side, but you can still see it trying to poke out.

Makes you wonder. There appears to be an entire family with her, and it's not impossible for a young Spanish child to have blonde hair. It's just too hard to say...

Yup. It's the way the hair falls. I wish they could have gotten a more close up photo.

Me, too. I'm surprised the photo can't be zoomed in on more clearly, being digital and all.

    Re: Madeleine McCann

In the blurry pic, I would have said that seems rather far fetched. But in the full picture, with the other picture for comparison purposes, I can see the similarities. Is there a way to find the kid's legs, or an estimate of her height and then try to do a height comparison, I wonder...

Still doesn't explain the DNA that was allegedly in the car. Or was that all just a massive cover-up to make the tourists feel safe?
With all this talk of thinking outside the box, I am beginning to wonder what's left inside the box. -Me

    Re: Madeleine McCann

    Pictured girl 'is not Madeleine'

The picture was taken in Morocco three weeks ago

A blonde girl photographed in Morocco is not missing Madeleine McCann, according to journalists who met her.

British and Spanish reporters claim to have traced the girl, pictured being carried on a Moroccan woman's back.

London newspaper the Evening Standard says the girl is a five-year-old from the village of Zinat.

The McCanns' spokesman said the news, if true, was disappointing. Madeleine disappeared on 3 May from a holiday apartment in Portugal.

    Easily traced

Experts were said to be examining the image, taken three weeks ago by a Spanish tourist, in the hope that the girl was the missing four-year-old from Rothley, Leicestershire.

But Rashid Razaq, the Standard reporter who flew to Morocco from London, said he had seen the youngster in the picture.

"She has got a resemblance to Madeleine but when you see her properly, it is obvious it isn't her."

He said the girl in the picture was five-year-old Bushra Binhisa, daughter of an olive farmer.

The Spanish reporter who also claims to have traced the girl in the picture says she is a Moroccan of Berber origin.

The reporter told the BBC he found her by showing the photo to people in the village who quickly identified the family.

Family spokesman Clarence Mitchell promised that the search for Madeleine would continue.

    Apparently it isn't her.
