17 years after Mike Williams went missing, his wife is accused of the murder and cashing in on his life insurance

    https://www.tallahassee.com/story/ne...ter/587671002/

More than 17 years after he went missing, the past caught up with Denise Merrell Williams. She met it with dry-eyed, stone-faced silence.

Minutes before her arrest at about 4 p.m., a Leon County grand jury indicted the 48-year-old on charges of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and accessory after the fact.

It was the biggest bombshell yet in the disappearance of Williams, the affable 31-year-old real estate appraiser who never returned after supposedly going duck hunting alone the morning of Dec. 16, 2000, on Lake Seminole in Jackson County.

A woman and her now-former second husband conspired for nearly nine months to kill her first husband, and for more than 17 years everybody thought Mike Williams had drowned on a solo duck-hunting trip, according to a grand jury indictment.

Bummer that she has not spent the last 17 years in prison.
I wonder how they found him, after all of these years?

I think her second husband (who was involved in the murder) led them to the body. I think that's why he isn't being charged, but not 100% sure.

They oughta take a shotgun to his kneecaps then. Give him the Lieutenant Dan treatment.

Usually I'm for instant death upon conviction but for this skank, life in prison seems like the better punishment. She's a real piece of shit and it would be better if she sits in general population and suffers for the next 30 years....or someone in there finishes her off brutally.

It sounds like you are right.

FDLE announced it had discovered Mike Williams’ body the day after Winchester was sentenced

I wonder if it occurred to her that he would tattle when she had him charged with kidnapping? I predict this is going to be a crazy trial. He said/she said.

This case makes me rage. They both should have been charged 17 years ago.

Brian said it was either his wife or Mike that had to go. I'm sure the 2 million payout on Mike's death had nothing to do with that decision.

Denise is the biggest idiot. Everybody knows you don't turn on the person you got to murder your husband. That's like textbook stuff.

Her arrogance got her. How could she think sending him to jail would be good? Dumb ass

I'm glad Mike's Mom has been proven right, and now has the answers that she seeked.

So, seriously, you can shoot someone, confess years later and not be charged?!

I follow alligator alibi on fb. She speaks to Mike's mom often (she wrote the book alligator alibi) I'm glad Mike's mom was around to see justice. She's been a warrior for her son for the last 17 years.
I hope she can have some type of relationship with Mike's daughter.

Even though I understand why they gave Brian immunity, it still doesn't change the fact that it's messed up. He will serve no time for Mike's murder.

She's most certainly not the brightest. I hope that she rots in prison.
