The distraught brother of missing Liam Colgan says the family feel tortured as the hunt goes into its eighth day.

Desperate Eamonn Colgan, 33, says they have considered every possible outcome as they await news about much-loved Liam.

Possible sightings of the Royal Mail worker since he vanished last Saturday are helping the family stay positive.

They hope their campaign to find him ? which saw flyers being handed out at yesterday?s Bundesliga game between Hamburger SV and Bayer Leverkusen ? will lead to them bringing him home.

But shattered Eamonn described not knowing what has happened to Liam ? who vanished on the first night of his brother?s stag do ? as torture.
Liam, of Inverness, arrived in Hamburg on February 9 along with stag Eamonn and 16 friends.

They were out in the city?s Reeperbahn but became separated from Liam at about 1.30am on Saturday.

When Eamonn realised his brother was not at the nearby AO hostel later that morning, he reported his brother missing.

Family confirm first sighting of missing stag party man Liam Colgan

The family of a man who disappeared during a stag party in Germany have revealed details of his first confirmed sighting.

Liam Colgan, from Inverness, has been missing for more than a week following the party for his brother Eamonn.

The sighting was a short time after the group had last seen him in the Veermaster Bar in Hamburg on Saturday 10 February.

The family said this creates new lines of inquiry that are now being followed.

CCTV footage seen by the family shows Liam arriving at the vehicle barrier of G&J building in Baumwall, Hamburg, at about 02:20.

A witness reports seeing the 29-year-old and helping him up some steps to the main entrance of that building after he fell.

This was corroborated by the CCTV.

The footage goes on to show Liam trying unsuccessfully to get in to the building, before walking towards the Michelwiese Park.

The family of a Scottish man - missing after a stag weekend in Germany - have released photos of the first confirmed sighting since his disappearance.

Liam Colgan, from Inverness, disappeared during a party in Hamburg for his brother Eamonn on 10 February.

CCTV images show Liam about an hour after the group had last seen him in the Veermaster Bar.

He was helped up some steps by a passerby at the G&J building in Baumwall after a fall.

The Royal Mail worker's family earlier revealed fears he may have been hurt and lost his memory.

They believe something may have happened to frighten the 29-year-old.

Missing Liam Colgan 'may have left Hamburg'

His brother Eamonn was due to get married on Friday, but the ceremony is on hold while the search continues.

Eamonn said 29-year-old Liam may be confused about who he is after suffering a head injury.

He said it was possible that Liam could have travelled beyond Hamburg.

Speaking to BBC Radio Scotland's John Beattie Programme, Eamonn said Liam's family and friends were trying to get their appeal for information spread more widely in Germany.

He said police in Hamburg were waiting to react on what they believed to be "credible information" on Liam's whereabouts, and that police may even be "fearing the worst" that he has not survived his ordeal.
"He might not even be aware that he is actually lost."

He added: "There is a strong possibility he is no longer in Hamburg and that is why we are trying to raise awareness as far and wide as we can."

Eamonn said German police were aware of the family's disappointment at the initial response to Liam's disappearance.

He said it was on the fifth occasion of reporting the matter to police that they began dealing with the case as a missing person.

Eamonn said that, while recognising the police in Hamburg encountered regular instances of people going missing temporarily after nights out in the city, he had felt "mocked" by the officers he dealt with initially.

It is if you are a missing person.

Search for missing Liam Colgan to widen
Earlier this month Eamonn revealed plans to return to Hamburg following reports of two potential sightings of Liam.

However, in an update to the Help Find Liam Colgan Facebook page, they said they had established that one of them was definitely not Liam.
They said friends, family and volunteers searched "hundreds" of homeless shelters and drop-in cafes in a bid to find Liam, but nobody had seen him.

"This information now makes us think that it is very possible that Liam is no longer in Hamburg," they said.

"With fresh thinking about his possible location we are drawing up plans for search groups to visit other large German cities to highlight the appeal and widen the search.

"We anticipate that a large group of friends and family will make the trip towards the end of May."
