    Question Sound Machine for Sleep

Does anyone use a sound machine to fall asleep? Any recommendations?
I'm having a problem with insomnia and I'm wondering if a sound machine would help me fall asleep?!
I'm looking at these two models. The first model's price is steep. I'm wondering if it would be worth the investment.

I use an app on my phone, relaxio. I started using one when I was working overnight and having to learn to sleep in the day light. I think it helps, I still use it.

I sometimes tell my echo dot to "make it rain" and fall asleep to that. Ya know, because we don't get enough rain here in WA. ;)

You should be able to get one cheap, or use an app on your phone for free.

I got this one a couple of months ago (for about half the price it is now, during the Christmas sales): https://www.amazon.com/LectroFan-Fid...=sound+machine

I can't say enough good about it. My husband sleeps odd hours due to his schedule, and this is a lifesaver!

I'm suffering from insomnia and the best way for me to get lost in random thoughts is to listen to a random history podcast. Takes me less than an hour to fall asleep. The rain/storm/water sounds didn't have any effect on me, sadly.

I listen to Dateline Murder Mystery on my phone, with cushy earbuds. Puts me right to sleep! Last night I did search "Ambient Sleep Music" and listened to a 6 hour youtube video.

It didn't work as well as the Dateline, though.

I use a free app on my phone and listen to rain. Works like a charm.

I use guided sleep meditations on youtube. None with water because it makes me feel like I have to pee.

Anyone listen to the Sleep With Me podcast? It's a neat fella telling a rambling boring story. I swear he hypnotizes me to sleep.

I went to a funeral last Wednesday and one of the pastors that was speaking could've put me to sleep, he was so boring! He would ramble on about World War 2 and then say a few short sentences about the deceased (a former co-worker of mine), then ramble on about some other historical event, I have no clue why they allowed him to speak.

If you are suffering from sleep apnea and insomnia, you have to contact the doctor. Sleep machine does not relieve your sleeping disorders. Sometimes, it may help you to get a comfortable night sleep. I personally didn't get a good result using the sound machine. If your doctor recommends it, you can use.

My husband and my pug both snore and any type of little noise wakes me up--I have one of those old school white box fans that I just crank up on the highest setting and that works better for me than any app or sound machine.....They're cheap, too and last like 5 years

I don't know if you ever got one CC, but I HIGHLY recommend this one and it's on sale right now for $31 bucks. I even bought a small one to send with my husband on his trips.
