I've been playing Spore for the last few hours.  It reminds me of a couple games. 

The amoeba stage is like the game Flow.

The next stage you just go around eating other creatures or making friends while evolving your creature.

Now I'm on the tribal stage and it's like an RTS game.

You can always get the external cooling fan to stop the R.R.O.D. I know it is more to buy but Dustin knows a few ppl who had this happen and I gather it is worth it if you like more games on it then the ps3.

Xbox 360 has a superior online gaming system. Organization and community is way better. I already said this in the other thread. A few of the PS3 exclusives have to go to other platforms now because they can't afford to be on the one system anymore. Not enough PS3 gamers because.... too expensive and not enough quality games for the system to justify the expense. The only reason a gamer would choose a PS3 over a 360, should be because of desire for blu-ray. The amount of games for both systems doesn't compare. The variety of games doesn't compare. The online gaming communities don't compare.

I have a first gen 360 and no red ring EVER. It is the best gaming system out right now. PS3 is all hype and that's why people want it. They think it's hot shit, but it doesn't have nearly as much going for it as the 360. kthx.

yup the only reason we got ps3 was for blueray. well at least that's why I okay'd the purchase ;) . the xbox 360 , has gone back 3 times since we've had it. we've had it since when ever it came out , can't tell you the model. I don't play it.

I've never had any problems playing online, plus Sony Home is coming out soon (I know it keeps getting pushed back) and that should destroy XBox Live.

Secondly, I like the exclusives for PS3 better. Killzone, Ratchet & Clank, MGS, etc. (Halo is the exception)
Besides, the gap in the amount of games for each system is closing. PS3 is catching up.

The Blue Ray is just a bonus. I don't notice much of a difference between DVD's and Blue Rays, and I'm watching them on a 42" Samsung. Plus I have 80 gigs filled with movies on the hard drive. And some porn thrown in for good measure.

Lastly, I've always hated the X Box controllers (too bulky) and I feel like less of a man buying games in  neon green packaging.  :|

Yeah, if my gf wanted to go buy a $300 pair of shoes I'd tell her she was dumb but it'd be her choice. I didn't spend 18 years of my listening to my parents telling me what I could and couldn't have just to get married and have my wife tell me what I can and can't have.

I think both a separate and a joint banking account are good to have.

I've never, and would never dream of, telling him what he can and cannot buy with his money. Now when it's our money in the mortgage account that's different.
That's why he has his own account, I have my own account and we have an account for the mortgage that we both pay equal amounts to every month.

I admit I'm a bit of a fanboy too. Maybe it's the aesthetics of the actual XBOX console. They dull grey colour, the neon green game cases, the bulky controllers. It looks like a childs toy compared to the shiny, sleek, black and chrome PS3.

And I think the reason there was a price drop on the 360 was because they're trying to counter the escalated sales of the PS3.

At the end of the day, whatever, you can get most of the same games on both anyways.

[/quote]Microsoft dropped the price because they can afford to do so and still make money on consoles.  Sony is still losing money for every console. 

The 360 controllers are perfect and probably the most comfortable controllers ever created.  At the end of the current generation of consoles Wii will come out on top with most sold, followed by 360, then PS3.

Again though, I'll probably get a PS3 eventually.  I just don't have a good reason right now.

I had a customer come in today looking for a PS3. We were sold out. He left with an X-box 360 and rock band. Wanna know why? Because it is superior to Sony in every way and after talking to me, he realized what a travesty it is to own a PS3.
