Police are investigating the disappearance of Jerome Deshaun Ezell.

Ezell's 5-month-old son was found in his car several hours after Ezell was last seen, police said.

Ezell, 27, was last seen Tuesday at about 10:45 a.m. in the 500 block of South Clemens Avenue driving a white Chevrolet Equinox, police said Thursday afternoon.

Ezell's vehicle was later found at approximately 7:50 p.m. in the 1100 block of North Fairview Avenue with his son inside.

Police didn't find any obvious signs of foul play and gave medical treatment to the child.

Township Police Chief Adam Cline said Ezell's son was released from the hospital Tuesday.

?The child was not dehydrated and seemed to be in fairly good condition," Cline said.

Ezell, from Lansing Township, lives on the west side of the township, near Michigan Avenue, Cline said.

Katrina Etelemaki, a Groesbeck neighborhood resident, said she saw the vehicle parked near Fairview Park at about 11:50 a.m. Tuesday.

Ezell is described by police as a 5-foot-4,170-pound black male who was last seen wearing wheat-colored Timberland boots, black jeans, a red shirt and a black leather jacket over it. He may answer to the name "Roni" or "E," police said.

Angela Vega, a Lansing resident, said late Thursday afternoon she intended to form a search party in the Groesbeck area that night. She knows several people who are close to Ezell.

"I would want somebody to do that for me," Vega said. "We don?t know the circumstances. We don?t know what?s going on."

Anyone with information about Ezell is encouraged to call police at (517) 485-1700.

$10,000 reward offered to find missing Lansing Township man, girlfriend says

A $10,000 reward is offered by the girlfriend of a man who she said Monday has been missing for nearly a week.

Jasmine Hill said the reward will be given to anyone who can find Jerome Deshaun Ezell and bring him back home safe. Police are investigating Ezell's disappearance.

“He’s depending on me to find him," Hill said, "and I’m not going to stop."

Hill and Ezell's 5-month-old son, Jionni, was found the night of Nov. 7 by Hill in her car, which Ezell drove that day. The vehicle is a white Chevrolet Equinox that was found in Lansing Township parked in the 1100 block of North Fairview Avenue.

Township Police Chief Adam Cline said Monday there are no signs of foul play or any leads. The Lansing Police Department also is involved in the investigation.

Cline said police are aware of the reward to find Ezell and are working closely with his family to find him.

“It can spur information, but it can also spur lots of false information," Cline said of the reward. "It’s up to us to sort through it, sort through what we get and follow through."

Hill said she believes foul play was involved. She lives with Ezell and their son in Lansing Township, near Michigan Avenue and St. Joseph Street. She doesn't know why her vehicle was found in the Groesbeck Neighborhood.

Hill said she found the vehicle at about 7:20 p.m. Nov. 7 unlocked with its keys on the passenger seat. She found her son strapped in his car seat behind the passenger seat. The car seat's base wasn't secured by the vehicle's seat belt.

Hill said she found her son in good health with a dry diaper and a normal temperature.

The child received medical treatment last week and was released from the hospital the night Hill found him, Cline said.

Hill said Monday she last saw Ezell at about 9:30 a.m. that day after he dropped her off at work. Ezell had their son in the car at that time and planned to take him to day care about an hour later, she said.

Hill said the couple's day care provider is at a home near Michigan Avenue and St. Joseph Street. The day care provider and resident of the home told Hill that she received a text message from Ezell at 10:20 a.m. that said he was with his son in the car and on the way.

    "He never showed," Hill said.

While at work that day, Hill said she texted Ezell at about 4:30 p.m. but didn't get a response.

About two and a half hours later, Hill said she noticed the OnStar navigation system in her car had been deactivated. She paid OnStar to reactivate it so the car could be located.

Ezell's son Jionni was born two months early on May 14 - Mother's Day. He helped Hill deliver the child in their Lansing Township home, she said.

“This is not the type of father to leave a child abandoned," Hill said.

Ezell is described by police as a 5-foot-4,170-pound black male who was last seen wearing wheat-colored Timberland boots, black jeans, a red shirt and a black leather jacket over it. He may answer to the name "Roni" or "E," police said.

Very glad the baby was okay. They need to search the water around the area the car was found.

Search for missing Lansing Twp. man won't stop 'until we find him' police chief says

The search for a Lansing Township man deemed missing since Nov. 7 continues without many leads.

“We won’t stop until we find him or find something," township Police Chief Adam Kline said.
Police said there are no signs of foul play. Ezell also goes by the name "E" or "Roni."

“Nothing is really important to me other than finding him right now," Hill said.

Hill found Jionni, the couple's 5-month-old son, inside the vehicle sitting in his car seat. He was found in good condition.

Hill said she is waiting to hear back from police about fingerprints that were found in the vehicle.

The Michigan State Police's crime lab is currently testing some "potential evidence," Kline said. He declined to provide details.
A $10,000 reward is offered by Ezell's family to anyone who can find Ezell and bring him home safe.

Search for Lansing Township man missing for months now involves private investigator

Police haven't given up on their search for a Lansing Township man who has been missing for more than three months.

The missing man's girlfriend hasn't given up either.

She's five months pregnant with the couple's second child and relying on a private investigator to find answers from a separate investigation.

"The fact we don't know what happened leaves your mind wondering," said Jasmine Hill, girlfriend of 27-year-old Jerome Deshaun Ezell.
A lack of progress in the search prompted Hill to hire Jason McCausey, a Perrinton, Mich.-based private investigator.

Since early January, McCausey said Tuesday he's interviewed over 50 people and conducted background checks of Ezell's friends and family members.

Based on interviews, McCausey said he's received tips from people with ties ranging from Detroit to Florida.

"We’re keeping hope alive that Jerome is still alive and well," McCausey said, "but at the same time, we want to provide that closure to the family as well.”

I can't believe a missing black guy is a media story. And he's not a suspect. This is amazing news!

This is so sad. I don't feel like he'd willingly leave his Son behind like that. This is not good news
