Three Affiliated Tribes authorities say there aren't many leads in the search for a missing woman.

Lead Detective Sam Lincoln says about 40 people searched for Olivia Lone Bear on Thursday on the Fort Berthold reservation.

Lincoln says K9's were used in the search, but the reservation is so large that a search isn't easy.

Civil Air Support has also been called in to help aid with an aerial search.

Lone Bear was last seen in New Town near the Scenic 23 bar last Tuesday, Oct. 24.

Lincoln says there's no indication of foul play, but there's isn't a lot of information to follow at this point.

Law enforcement in Florida is helping with cell phone forensics in the case, hoping to get more information.

Maybe they're going by the last time she was visually seen. She could have gone missing the next day?

Thirty-two-year-old Olivia Lone Bear was last seen the evening of Oct. 24 leaving a New Town restaurant. Ground and air searches for the mother of five children have been ongoing since.

Officials this week plan to use air boats to search waterways in the New Town area.

Three Affiliated Tribes Police Detective Sam Lincoln tells The Bismarck Tribune that no foul play is suspected in Lone Bear's disappearance.

Olivia Lone Bear's family has received a tip about a sighting of Lone Bear in Arcata, California.

The person claims to have seen Lone Bear getting out of a vehicle with North Dakota license plates.

We reached out to the Lone Bear family who says authorities are now following this lead.

The person who gave the tip also claims that the vehicle matched the description of the Chevy Silverado pickup truck that Lone Bear was last seen in.

KX News reached out to authorities in California and North Dakota but we have not heard back.

There were apparently some discrepancies in where she was last seen, what she was wearing, as well as the condition of the truck.

Updated information in search for Olivia Lone Bear

NEW TOWN, N.D. - As of Friday evening, 32-year-old Olivia Lone Bear remains missing, but authorities have updated information on where she was last seen as well as her clothing.

Tribal police now say that Lone Bear was last seen Oct. 24 at the Sportsman’s Bar in New Town, rather than the Ranchman’s bar which is what was previously reported.

Police also now say Lone Bear was last seen wearing a white camouflage jacket with black stripes down the sleeves and light-colored blue jeans.

Most of the remaining details of the investigation remain the same at this point, including the make, model, and license of a vehicle in question, a bluish-green 2011 Chevy Silverado with a box in the back and North Dakota plate 839-BRC.

Investigators now say the truck is missing its rear view mirror and has a dented tailgate that is missing the Chevy emblem.

Lone Bear is 5’6”, 130 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes, and several tattoos, including Roman numerals on her right arm.

The search efforts for Olivia Lone Bear, a mother of five, are focused in the western part of North Dakota by New Town.

Volunteers needed to expand Lone Bear search to N.D. cities

Volunteers searching for a missing New Town woman are pulling back from the field to fan out and seek the truck she was driving.

Matthew Lone Bear said search efforts for his sister, Olivia, now need volunteers for Bismarck, Dickinson, Fargo, Grand Forks, Minot, Stanley, Watford City and Williston, where searchers will comb parking lots, wreck yards and auto body shops in a grid-style search.

The decision to pull from the field is mostly for safety reasons, said Lone Bear, adding that snowy searching on the Fort Berthold Reservation has reached 75 percent to 80 percent of the reservation's area.

Her brother said the decision to search city locations came from another missing persons case in which he said a missing truck was found in a residential area.

Body found inside vehicle connected to missing North Dakota woman's case

The FBI has confirmed that a body has been found in the truck connected to the disappearance of a New Town woman missing since October.

FBI spokesman Michael Kulstad said the vehicle was recovered in Lake Sakakawea on the Fort Berthold Reservation, with a “victim” found inside the vehicle.

Kulstad said the FBI is working on positive identification of the body, notifying next of kin and determining the circumstances of what happened.

    Confirmation that it's her:

    https://www.grandforksherald.com/node/4480111

The brother of a missing New Town woman confirmed she was found deceased inside of the truck connected to her disappearance and recovered Tuesday from Lake Sakakawea.

"She was identified by tattoos," Matthew Lone Bear said in an interview.
Kulstad said the FBI is working to determine the circumstances of what happened, but declined to comment on how the truck was found, the condition of the vehicle, if the body was that of a male or female or if a crime was involved. He also did not provide any details regarding an autopsy.

Lissa Yellowbird-Chase, who coordinates the volunteer Sahnish Scouts of North Dakota, said searchers began using a boat with sonar on July 25, finding what they believed to be a truck submerged in Sanish Bay on Lake Sakakawea near New Town.

Sahnish Scout volunteer Melaine Stoneman said the truck was submerged about 30 feet deep, roughly 150 to 200 feet from shore.

Stoneman and Yellowbird-Chase said the truck was covered in grime and silt upon its recovery, with broken windows.

FBI confident that body found in submerged truck belongs to missing mother Olivia Lone Bear

FBI Minneapolis Media Coordinator Michael Kulstad told Dateline the body was found Tuesday when “a private search group, using sonar in Lake Sakakawea, found what they believed to be a vehicle and alerted authorities.”

Kulstad confirmed that the truck recovered is the teal Chevy Silverado 2500 HD LT with the North Dakota license plate 839-BRC in which Olivia was last seen. He told Dateline that DNA from the body has been sent to a lab for testing, but “law enforcement is confident that the body that was recovered was Ms. Lone Bear.”
Olivia Lone Bear will be laid to rest on August 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Johnny Bird Veterans Memorial Hall in New Town, North Dakota.
