Kymberley Suchomel (28) survived the Vegas shootings, only to die 8 days later from a seizure

So this lady apparently died earlier today, according to a YouCaring page. It looks like she survived the Vegas shooting (uninjured)?!? I wonder what happened.

Her last FB post, 19 hours ago

Its unbelievable to see the evidence of those shot around us splattered on the boots that carried me to safety.
At 10:05 PM my group of friends heard what we thought was firecrackers as Jason Aldean was finishing up ?Any Ol' Barstool?, we chalked it up to just a drunk idiot sneaking them past security and continued to sing and dance. Seconds later he started ?When She Says Baby? and that?s when things changed.
I?ll never forget the words he sang as Ricky realized it was automatic gun fire and told us to get down. ?Some days it's tough just gettin' up, Throwin' on these boots and makin' that climb?.
The lives of myself, my friends, and so many others were changed forever exactly one week ago today. While I made it out physically unharmed, I will have mental and emotional scars forever.
Strength is what we gain from the madness we survive. I will never forget October 1st, 2017.

Today I found out that my shop mama friend Kymberley Suchomel has passed away. My heart hurts for her and her family. She had been diagnosed a couple months back with a benign brain tumor, she just was a victim of the Las Vegas shooting but escaped safely. And this morning she never woke up after having a seizure. Her and I have helped each other out in our shops since 2014. I have never met her but we text and talk on Facebook. My heart hurts. Life is unfair and anything can happen at any moment. I'm in complete shock. She definitely didn't deserve this. No one does. She still had so much life left to live and experience. She has a 4 year old daughter and a husband that she has left behind.

This feels so final destination to me. Scary that you can survive a freakin mass shooting only to die in your sleep.

About a week after surviving the mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas, Kymberley Suchomel has died.

Suchomel, 28, who was not injured during last week’s shooting, died early Monday at her Apple Valley home, according to her grandmother, Julie Norton, the co-founder of the High Desert Phoenix Foundation.

Norton found her granddaughter just after 8:30 a.m. when she arrived to care for her 3-year old great-granddaughter, Scarlett. She believes Suchomel may have died in her sleep after her husband, Mike, left for work at 4:30 a.m.

“Kymberley had epilepsy and she’s always been prone to seizures — she told her friend that she recently had three focal seizures,” Norton told the Daily Press. “I believe the stress from the shooting took her life.”

Days after the shooting, Suchomel explained to the Daily Press how she and her friends escaped with their lives as a gunman, perched from a hotel suite on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, opened fire on some 20,000 concertgoers on Oct. 1.

With 58 people killed by the gunman and nearly 500 wounded, the Las Vegas event is the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

“That was the night that my life, and the lives of my friends, and so many others were changed forever,” Suchomel told the Daily Press the day after the shooting. “I might have escaped unharmed, but I know that I’ve been emotionally and mentally scarred for life.”

Suchomel, who was taking medication for a pituitary tumor, shared her fear of trying to fall sleep at night as the “sounds of gunfire” become louder in her head and the images of “broken and bloody bodies” flashed through her mind.

She also took to Facebook to share how the “most ridiculous things,” such as the sound of her alarm or loud voices, would send her heart racing in fear. She also shared how fear would sweep over her when her daughter would toss her toys, move too quickly or begin talking loudly after being quiet.

In one post, Suchomel said she overcame her fear for a moment by venturing out of her house to have lunch with her friend. She also explained how she was able to focus on the pain caused by a tattoo gun and forget the pain “caused by the horrific event...”

This has me shook. I wonder if she took something to help herself sleep or something and it mixed with her meds.
To live through that a week ago and to die in your sleep...unreal.

Well the article said she had epilepsy so having a seizure wouldn't have been uncommon for her. I bet the stress and trauma of what happened didn't help things.

Is it bad that my first thought was at least she died peacefully in her sleep than at the hands of a deranged man with a gun?

Completely agree, I think the stress killed her.

I don't think it's bad to think that, I'd much rather die in my sleep. I feel bad for her friends/family though. They were probably worried sick about her, then relieved she was okay, then in shock because they lost her so suddenly.

Poor thing. She clearly was undergoing a great deal of stress from her experience.

My good friend has epilepsy and it definitely escalates with stress. His fiance died recently and they have been pretty frequent since.

This idiot website decided it would be a great idea to surround this woman's death in conspiracy theories. Now her family has to deal with that too.

Oh FFS. Are you kidding me?! Conspiracy Theory Assholes should be wiped off the Earth. They really don't realize how fucking horrible they are when it comes to families and how much they torture them and make them suffer. I hate them so much.

Kymberley Jo (Snyder) Suchomel, 28, went to Heaven on October 9th, 2017 and is now with her mom and poppy. She was born in Las Vegas, NV on July 31, 1989 to her parents Scott and Darlene Snyder. The family moved to CA shortly after she was born. In 1992 they moved to Nebraska where they lived until Kymberley was 16 years old. She moved back to CA to live with her Grandma Julie where she graduated from Apple Valley High School in 2007. On August 10, 2013 she married the love of her life, Michael Suchomel and they had a baby girl, Scarlett, on July 31, 2014, sharing her mom's birthday. She is survived by her husband Michael, daughter Scarlett, father Scott, brother Thom, grandmother Julie Norton, grandparents Allen and Carol Brown, father and mother in law Robert and Andrea Suchomel, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and her two best friends Kelsie McConnell and Casie Barnard. There will be a hole left in our hearts until we see her again. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 15th at 2:00 PM at Sunset Hills Memorial Park & Mortuary, 24000 Waalew Rd, Apple Valley. There will be a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the HD Phoenix Foundation in Scarlett's name at hdphoenixfoundation.com.
