Went to the doctor on Monday and I have been bleeding NONSTOP since.  Like, disgusting fetus shaped blood clots, going through 45,345 tampons a day and horrendous pain.

I called my doctor today and they ordered me a script for Lodine (thanks.. :|) and to get bloodwork done.  I pick up the pointless prescription since the doctor forgot to sign it and have to wait until tomorrow to get it filled since they were already closed for the day.

The place next door to my OB/GYN that does the bloodwork was closed also, so another thing I have to do tomorrow.

I know Lodine isn't going to help at ALL.  Thanks a lot, online prescription monitoring program.  I need Vicodin for pain, not arthritis medication.

It was removed.  Is this normal to be all pain filled and gross??  I haven't had this much pain/bleeding since after I had my kid.  At least then I was given good drugs so I couldn't feel it.  I've been incapacitated for 2 days now.

ETA:  More to the story, but I'll get yelled at if I told it.

I has my reasons for being dodgy on here.  I need to be incognito as you know via the discussion last night.

Besides, I'm still in mourning over decapitated Blanket.

After it, I had pretty bad cramps (but actually not as bad as when it was in), and about 2 days after removal, I was hemorrhaging huge clots and nastiness like you described.  I had never seen anything like it.  TMI, sorry, but true.  Anyways, I had read what other women had said in forums, and it all seems pretty consistent.  Mine went away within a week.  But of course, if you feel something is wrong, I certainly don't discourage getting checked out - definitely can't hurt.

The first actual period after removal was HORRIBLE.  I went through like 4837543 super plus tampons a day - I usually use regular and rarely super, so that was extra weird for me.  And the cramping was horrible too.

I really wish I had never got the damn thing.  I think they completely misinform the public about it, and I'm pretty pissed about the whole ordeal.

So is this an actual period I am having or should I expect another bout of this?  I seriously wish the same thing.  It seemed like a great idea at the time, but it's totally not.  I'm also hearing stories about having a "Mirena Crash" which freaks me out.  Same thing with the super, I never have used those in my life until now.  This shit sucks for real.

I feel a lot better though, knowing that I'm not bleeding my brains out.  My daughter has some form of anemia, which most likely I gave to her so the blood work tomorrow is probably going to test for the Iron Deficiency Anemia.

Thanks for the reassurance!  It sucks, but I'm a total hypochondriac and thought the worst.  Did you get anything for the pain?  I really don't think this Lodine will work, although it is used for the treatment of menstrual cramps.  I'm just upset because I've gotten at least Darvocet before for moderate menstrual pain and those barely work.  What I'm feeling right now is straight up severe.

I had the 'period' about 3 weeks after removal, which was really just like a heavy period with worse cramps than usual.  The first round (2 days after removal) was the freaky hemorrhaging that was downright crazy...  I'm not sure if that was a 'period' or not.

My mom has had back surgery and has a whole pharmacy in her bathroom, so she gave me vicodin, which helped a ton.  The doctor said to take advil  :|  Yeah, my ass.

I'm a hypochondriac too so I freaked out and researched all this crap too.  I didn't experience a Mirena crash, which I had also read about, so that was a relief.  Honestly, after having it out I felt so relieved and like a weight had been lifted.

I need a pharmacy for real.

I'm going to attempt to sleep, but I'll check this tomorrow.  Did you notice any weight loss after removal?  I'm seriously down 4lbs already, and I expect it to hopefully go down more after all this Carrie White bloodening stops.

Thanks again for the info, I feel a lot better.  Except for the fact that in a few weeks I'm going to probably experience this again.

I lost 15 lbs with little effort in about 3 weeks after removal and have kept it off no problem.  So overall I'm only up 5 since before I had it, which I can live with.  The weight gain horrified me, so I feel much better now.  I feel your pain, but it'll get better! :)

I'm happy to hear about the weight loss!  Thanks for all the reassurance.

I'm off to get my blood drawn and pick up my whack medication.

Does anyone have any experience with Loestrin Fe? I'm halfway through my third pack and I haven't gotten my period since May.  I got a small amount of discharge in June and July, but not a full blown period.  Also I've been feeling like I got punched in the tits for three months and I rage over nothing and I'd like it to stoooooooooop.

I was so paranoid I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative.  I thought it would be just my luck that I start the pill and end up being the fluke that gets knocked up on it.

i've taken loestrin, but not the loestrin fe.  i believe it's the same thing but the placebo pills don't have any iron in them.  i was really sensitive to it, i had hot flashes and my hair fell out all over the place so i didn't take it long.  i hope you're doing better soon.  sometimes it takes several months for it to work normally.  good luck.

So I just went off the pill. I was taking seasonique. After knowing quite a few people that have been on birth control for a while that have had such a hard timje getting pregnant, I convinced myself it had to do with birth control. So I decided to go off. I just got my period for the first time since being off of it and these cramps I am having are reminding me why I want on it in the first place.  :2angry:

I'm on Yaz, which is also a low estrogen pill. I've been on it for about 2.5 years now with no issues. The last time I got my period was in April. Since I had skipped 3 cycles I got nervous and went to the gyno last Friday to see if something was wrong. She basically called me an idiot and said that it's extremely common for people on low estrogen bc to stop having their periods all together. I had never heard that before, but she made it seem like common knowledge. I felt really stupid. :|

That is what happened to me to. I didn't get my period and I freaked out and called the doctor, since I am on the pill that you only get 4 times a year I had not gotten my period in 4 months. She told me the same thing, but that is another reason why I went off the pill. They say it is ok not to have your period, but I don't feel comfortable with that.

You shouldn't feel stupid.  I've never heard that before.  It doesn't even really mention that on the Yaz website.  All it says is to keep taking the pills even if you don't get your period.  I was on a low estrogen pill for a really long time and I never skipped a period.  I would have been uncomfortable too.

The only thing I've noticed with Yaz is that I get extremely bitchy 2 or 3 days before my period. I think it's supposed to help with that, but it seems to have done the opposite for me. Otherwise I love it. My periods (when I was getting them) were extremely light and short.

I didn't know it was supposed to happen either. She had a term for it... I can't remember what it was... but she said it was common and I should be happy about it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that hasn't heard of it. When she came in the room and asked why I was there I said "Well, I'm on the pill and I'm very good about taking it everyday at the same time and I haven't had my period in over 3 months." Her response was, "So?" Ugh. Maybe I need a new gyno.

Re: Birth Control, tampons, and other women's stuff. Beware!

The side effect of a lot of medication is hair thinning.  Hella scary.

I'm thinking I should have asked for Yaz instead of Ortho Cyclen again.  Before pregnancy and the IUD I was on Ortho since I was 19 due to ovarian cysts.

I've seriously had all types of BC.  The worst was the Depo Shot.  Constant spotting.  Ughughugh.

I've got my meds now and had my blood drawn.  Hopefully my iron levels are on the up and up.  While I was waiting at the pharmacy, I took my blood pressure and it was 96 over 80.  o_O

I didn't know it was supposed to happen either. She had a term for it... I can't remember what it was... but she said it was common and I should be happy about it.

My doctor told me it meant that the pill was really working, maybe even working too good

The only thing I've noticed with Yaz is that I get extremely bitchy 2 or 3 days before my period. I think it's supposed to help with that, but it seems to have done the opposite for me. Otherwise I love it. My periods (when I was getting them) were extremely light and short.

Haha she seriously just said "So?".  I could see her saying that if you were skipping it on purpose by taking active pills continuously, or if you were on a pill that only gives you 4 periods a year.  I'd be going crazy thinking I was pregnant.
