I guess that would be like the drink Ural. I might pick some up from the chemist after work. Need to get this before it gets really bad.

Be sure to drink a lot of fluids -- if I catch it early enough, I can usually get rid of a UTI without using antibiotics. You do need specific types of antibiotics for a UTI, though, as not all antibiotics work on the urinary tract.

If you do take antibiotics, eat yogurt or take acidolphilus tablets to avoid getting a yeast infection.

A real letter to Proctor and Gamble

    Dear Mr. Thatcher,

I have been a loyal user of your ‘Always’ maxi pads for over 20 years and I appreciate many of their features. Why, without the Leak Guard Core or Dri-Weave absorbency, I’d probably never go horseback riding or salsa dancing, and I’d certainly steer clear of running up and down the beach in tight, white shorts.

But my favorite feature has to be your revolutionary Flexi-Wings. Kudos on being the only company smart enough to realize how crucial it is that maxi pads be aerodynamic. I can’t tell you how safe and secure I feel each month knowing there’s a little F-16 in my pants.

Have you ever had a menstrual period, Mr. Thatcher? Ever suffered from ‘the curse’? I’m guessing you haven’t. Well, my time of the month is starting right now. As I type, I can already feel hormonal forces violently surging through my body.

Just a few minutes from now, my body will adjust and I’ll be transformed into what my husband likes to call ‘an inbred hillbilly with knife skills.’ Isn’t the human body amazing?

As Brand Manager in the Feminine-Hygiene Division, you’ve no doubt seen quite a bit of research on what exactly happens during your customers monthly visits from ‘Aunt Flo’. Therefore, you must know about the bloating, puffiness, and cramping we endure, and about our intense mood swings, crying, jags, and out-of-control behavior. You surely realize it’s a tough time for most women. In fact, only last week, my friend Jennifer fought the violent urge to shove her boyfriend’s testicles into a George Foreman Grill just because he told her he thought Grey’s Anatomy was written by drunken chimps. Crazy!

The point is, sir, you of all people must realize that America is just crawling with homicidal maniacs in Capri pants… Which brings me to the reason for my letter.

Last month, while in the throes of cramping so painful I wanted to reach inside my body and yank out my uterus, I opened an Always maxi-pad, and there, printed on the adhesive backing, were these words: ‘Have a Happy Period.’

Are you fu**ing kidding me? What I mean is, does any part of your tiny middle-manager brain really think happiness - actual smiling, laughing happiness, is possible during a menstrual period? Did anything mentioned above sound the least bit pleasurable? Well, did it, James?

FYI, unless you’re some kind of sick S&M freak girl, there will never be anything ‘happy’ about a day in which you have to jack yourself up on Motrin and Kahlua and lock yourself in your house just so you don’t march down to the local Walgreen’s armed with a hunting rifle and a sketchy plan to end your life in a blaze of glory.

For the love of God, pull your head out, man! If you just have to slap a moronic message on a maxi pad, wouldn’t it make more sense to say something that’s actually pertinent, like ‘Put down the Hammer’ or ‘Vehicular Manslaughter is Wrong’, or are you just picking on us?

Sir, please inform your Accounting Department that, effective immediately, there will be an $8 drop in monthly profits, for I have chosen to take my maxi-pad business elsewhere. And though I will certainly miss your Flex-Wings, I will not for one minute miss your brand of condescending bull sh*t.

And that’s a promise I will keep. Always!

    Best,

This is coming from someone who has has waaay to many uti's.

As soon as I feel one coming on I drink pints and pints of flavoured water (can not drink water!) and it really helps. The more you empty your bladder the better it gets. You really don't need anti biotics unless it last more than like 2 days.

    Someone said "hot bath"... NO!
Baths can CAUSE UTIs, and certainly won't help.
They can also cause bacterial infections... uhg.

Should I be freaked out that it's now Thursday, I haven't taken an active BC pill since Saturday, and I'm still not bleeding? I had some cramping, and I'm as horny as a middle-school marching band... but no bleeding.  :|

Was that you that said you usually skip the sugar pill week?

I don't think you should be freaked...yet.  It might start the week you start your pill cycle over again.  Mine's like that sometimes.  It can come 3 days after taking my ring out, or it could come a whole week after taking it out.

I think your body might be a little confused  (if I'm assuming correctly in that you skip the placebo week), and might take a few days to actually ovulate?  I just know from my experience that I sometimes had to give it a week, it's usually very light, but it does come for a couple days.

    Hope that helps.

I've recently stopped taking the contraceptive pill, after I finished my period. A day or so later I started to bleed again, quite heavily, I've been browsing the internet but am getting different answers as to how long it will last for etc, or what is going on. The reason I am stopping is because I want to try have a baby. I've read that you should wait two cycles before trying. There is just too much information on the internet. It all says different things.

I seriously wouldn't have a child until you are sure your relationship with whatshisname is on solid ground. If he's playing video games all day, he's not gonna be able to help you with baby.

My husband is so involved with my daughter. If he wasn't I'd be stressed for real.

I hear you! Definitely see where you are coming from, especially with the stuff I have posted recently about my partner.

As I said in my PM, I definitely think our mishap has made us closer, and I can tell he has realised what a douch he was and how much he screwed up, there is no way I would consider a child unless I knew we were both ready. I know he would be a great dad.

Not everyone gets sick. My cousin who has recently popped out a bubba had no sickness at all. I guess she was mega lucky.

If I take after my mother, I will get sick. She was very sick through her pregnancies.

    Breast Implants and Breastfeeding
Many women ask if they can breastfeed after breast augmentation surgery. The answer is a resounding yes.  For the vast majority of women who have breast augmentation, breastfeeding is no more difficult with implants than without.  In fact, some women who have breastfed before and after they had implants put in say that breastfeeding with implants is easier.

However, it is a good idea to think ahead to the possibility of breastfeeding if you are a woman who has not started a family or may have another child. In previous years, women who received implants were usually older, married, and had already finished having children. Now, younger women, single women, and women who have not finished or even begun childbearing are having breast augmentation surgery.

Sore? No! The only soreness I get is the usual monthly shit boob tenderness

No it does not feel strange at all. They bounce around like normal boobs. Definately not ones like Pamela Andersons.

I'm curious as to how breast cancer is detected when you have implants?  Ultrasound?  I've thought about them a time or two, cos kids ruined my good ones   But they're not worth it, if they hide anything cancerous either  :|

I'm actually breast cancer obsessed today if anyone didn't notice  :-P

Ahh, ok.  I was a lil worried about my girlfriend that has em.  I'd be afraid that machine would burst them or something.

In other female issues..I was put on Loestrin24, my NP wanted me to try that before YAZ and see if I don't like that better.  She said a vast variety of her patients love it.  She also mentioned it greatly decreases my risk of breast and ovarian cancer...quite the sell for me.  I figured it's worth a try.  It can't be as bad as Ortho Tri was for me...wow I was a raging bitch on that stuff.  She prescribed it because of my PMDD issues.  I have like one good week out of my cycle, and I'm so tired of it.

It really depends on the implant and how good a boob job you got.  My aunt has HUGE ones and she's a small person, and they feel like boulders.  But women who had breasts that didn't get all crazy, those aren't as weird feeling.  My mom has never really felt hers except for ew ew ew ew when she sprung a leak.  Personally, I like my boobs and the way they fit my body, and I don't get wanting enormous knockers so men will take me even less seriously as a human being.  But I do get when people like my one friend, who was seriously flat as a board, had implants put in that were about the same size as my boobs now, and they look completely natural and she feels a lot better about herself physically.
