As for me, either someone put my uterus in a vise when I wasn't looking or I'm getting my period

I have to say I do not miss those days at all. Ugh.

I really get terrible PMS.  Like I'm trying to eat my lunch right now and I'm heaving bc the cramps are so bad.  Not because of my lunch, because that's delicious.

Abnormal paps and colposcopy...what's the low down?

I have a mildly abnormal pap and gotta go in for the colposcopy on the 22nd...I'm not really sure if I should be like, paranoid or if this is really not that big of a deal.

I've a googled a bit but I don't know.  all I know is they're gonna peer in at me with a microscope and light like they're exploring the freaking solar system.

Meloxicam works great for cramps. It takes about 10-30 minutes to start working but once it does the cramps are completely gone. It's a prescription drug though.  :-(

That stuff makes me so drowsy I can't even sit up.  And gives me a weird tightening feeling in my chest.  I was prescribed it for my TMJ syndrome and only took it twice.

TMJ CAN GO TO HELL AND DIE.

I had to wear a herbst appliance as a kid to correct mine.  It didn't work.  So I still snap, crackle and pop.

Luckily I get Percocet for my hand injury, but since I have been off the IUD and back on regular birth control, I've been back to the wicked pain.  Not to mention the constant ovulation pain.  It's as bad as cramps.  Ugh.

I set up an appt for an iud.  I'm nervous.  My bff had severe cramps and heavy bleeding after having it put in.  She also said the pain was worse than anything she had ever felt.  She has a really high pain tolerance.
Any of you have the iud?  Was it really that bad at first?

I would rather do the pill, but I'd like to leave as little up to chance as possible and I have a history with bc failing.  See: Millie.

I don't mind sharing to say no, I did not feel an urge to "push" when I had my miscarraige. My body wouldn't rid itself of the fetus on its own, so I had to have a DNC. I didn't know what it really felt like to need to push until I was delivering a baby, lol!
    [/quote]

I just had a miscarrige last september, and i was so excited about the baby  :-(.. one day i was at work and just started bleeding, we went to the emergency room and like 3 hours later went back to see the doctor, they did an exam and an ultrasound and the  baby was fine then, and we could even see its heartbeat.. they diagnosed me with a "threatened miscarriage". i went home and i didnt stop bleeding and that night i had two instances where there was a really heavy gush of blood, so much i had to run to the bathroom and change my pad... The next day we went to one of the minor emergency clinics here and they sent me to another place to get an ultrasound, and it was the WORST because the lady there wouldnt tell me anything. Then i went home and the doctor from the minor emergency place was supposed to call me but he never did. I called over there probably 10 times before they closed that day and just kept getting told "the doctor hasnt had time to look at your results yet. Call back monday" That monday i went over there and talked to him and he said that he had never gotten my results back but since he hadn't heard anything "everythings probably okay". So i was excited thinking my baby was still ok.. Then maybe two weeks later i went to a scheduled ultrasound at the doctor, and they couldnt find anything. I cried all day. And when i called that doctor back to tell him what had happened he said that I said i had come in because i had had an abortion and wanted to make sure the baby was gone... it was horrible. I never felt any cramps or anything, just bleeding.

What iud are you getting? I had the mirena iuc and just got it taken out after 5 years. I hated getting it put in, it hurt so bad but I didn't feel the removal at all. It works really good but there are some things about it that sucked. Like it gets poked during sex and causes cramps afterwards, and it hurt the bf too. I had a lot of other things going on that my dr. said weren't side effects of the mirena but they're all over the internet on different forums and stuff from other girls getting the same problems.

God damn it.  That's what I was afraid of.  I can always "feel" things that I'm not supposed to be able to feel.  Especially anything female wise.  I would be getting the mirena as well.
If you don't mind, what other things were going on?  And what are you switching to now?

I want something extremely low in hormones, that's why my doc suggested the iud.  Hormones scare me.

My weight fluctuated like crazy, I had bad mood swings, I was depressed on and off(I have never been depressed, besides ppd), my boobs were sore everyday for the last two years, I had shooting pains in my pelvic area constantly, I had these weird belly flutters(almost like when you can first feel a a baby moving), headaches and really bad dizziness for the past two years. And sometimes I had a lot of discharge, tmi maybe but I never had anything like that before the mirena.

I co-sign pretty much everything k has posted.

I'm not trying to scare you, but I wish others had warned me before I got it.

Insertion was the worst pain ever - although I have not had children, so it may be better for you.  I had cramps and bleeding after insertion.  I even ended up going to the ER a month after it was put in because I really thought something was wrong.  The pain was intolerable - turns out that it was just period cramps, and that would be a monthly occurrence.  It made my cramps and period worse.  My doctor swore up and down that my periods would be better and lighter and my fade out altogether.

I had it for 9 months before I begged my doctor to yank it out before I did it myself.

My face broke out, my weight was the highest it's ever been (the weight seemed to all collect right through my mid-section, as if my body were actually trying to protect a 'baby'), the mood swings were so awful I don't know how my boyfriend put up with me.  My boobs were heavy and sore.  It made me depressed.  My boyfriend could feel the strings during sex, even though my doctor swore he would not.  I would also sometimes bleed and cramp after sex.

I just suggest anyone who is thinking about getting it to check forums of others' experiences.  Not the Mirena fine print - but actual stories.  The whole experience was a nightmare for me.

On the bright side, I do have a friend that has it and hasn't really had any issues.  She's happy with it.

I had my IUD put in after my daughter was born. I have a very low pain tolerence and it did not hurt. It was a little uncomfortable, but no real pain to speak of. At least nothing Tylenol couldn't help.

Ya know, maybe the IUD is affecting me more than I thought. My mood swings have been out of control lately, and I've been quite depressed. A few months ago, I called my BFF & told her that if not for the IUD, I would swear there was a baby moving around in my belly. I never thought the depression, mood swings, and belly flutters could be from my birth control. Thank you for sharing - you just gave me great insight & something to discuss with my doc.

BTW - I have Paraguard, not Mirena.
