I order my BC online from some shady Canadian pharmacy. It's definitely much cheaper! I pay $50/3 months instead of the $56/month it is here. My last batch was shipped from Turkey with all Turkish manuals. It makes it more interesting. Now I even know my days in Turkish! Wonder what shady country my next months pills will be from... Poland?

shady country? Poland? no, no, no i think Samoa is shady, or Maldova.  Dont take the BCs you get from there.

I think it was really great when i taught at a Catholic School and the insurance co wouldnt cover BC because it was against the belief of the Catholic Church.

I can't believe it's that much a month for BC.  Then again, I guess that sounds about right anymore.  I remember when Planned Parenthood used to have the sliding scale.  Of course, this was during the Clinton administration.  I need the Clinton administration back again.

:lol: Birth control and STDs were never discussed.  There was no real sex ed in any school I went to.  Good thing my parents got past their awkwardness (believe me, it was AWKWARD) and had the Talk with me.

i was really lucky, even for small town iowa.  i got real comprehensive sex ed and a mom who put me on the shot as soon as i had a serious bf at 16, even though he lived 100 miles away.  she even sent me to california at 16 to see a boy, and packed lube and condoms for us.  i guess it helps when you're concieved on your mom's 18th bday while she is on the pill. 

i've been told by catholics around here that they were taught that birth control would give you an STD.  i think the point they were trying to make is that mors sex = more risk, assuming that just because you're on bc you must be active.  they always find interesting ways to twist things around.

Since this thread has tampon in the title I'd just like to say I hate Tampax Pearl. The string is all fringed at the end and just annoying.

[/quote]Aside from my aversion to taking estrogen, and it being the most effective BC thing, and not having to remember to take shit, I really appreciated how progestin-only is known to reduce heavy bleeding and cramping.

it's most likely temporary and sooner or later there is a good chance you'll stop bleeding all together.  i hope you're done bleeding soon. 

unless you use prosterone only bc for reallllly long periods of time.  depo deteriorated my uterus and caused it to bleed for 6 months, the only thing that stopped it was estrogen.  i hate estrogen.

I've thought about trying that, but really, my flow is always so light that I really have no problem with tampons.  Never had any leaking and don't need to use back up pads.  Plus, the biologist in me thinks those Diva cups are an invitation for infection.  No matter how clean you get it, you insert it manually which introduces germs.  Do not want.

i suppose there is always a chance, i always make sure my hands are clean of course.  after six months of bleeding and using tampons which gave me an infection, i'm scared to death of tampons.  :|

How often do you change the Diva cup?  I know they advertise that you can leave it in for days.

really?  i clean mine twice a day at least.  i am a heavy bleeder and i normally do not have to do it more than that.  i boil it once a month.  sometimes i clean it in tea tree oil.
