Eluned was walking home from a party when she was killed in the early hours of Saturday morning 5 August 2006. A Mercedes van knocked a Ford Puma on to the pavement, which hit her, killing her instantly.
On 19th December 2006, a 24 year old Polish man was sentenced to 6 years imprisonment (of which he will serve about 3) for causing Eluned's death by careless driving whilst under the influence of alcohol.
