Carl Charlie Brandt-serial killer with potentially many unknown victims

Hurricane Matthew reminded me of this story. This guy evacuated the Keys during Hurricane Ivan, and went to Orlando with his wife to stay with her niece. He killed his wife, and butchered her niece, and then hung himself. Afterwards it was revealed that he had killed his pregnant mother when he was a boy. They think there may be many more victims of his out there. There are several killings in South Florida that they are pretty sure are his work. It was later revealed by her diaries that his wife suspected that he might be a murderer.

Hurricane Ian is possibly following a similar track to Hurricane Charley in 2004, and all of the news sources keep mentioning it, and it made me think of this case with all the hurricanes that hit FL in 2004.

Yeah, this case is fascinating to me, and not well known. I had never heard of it until I moved to the Orlando area.

The first thing I saw was 48 Hours, then I went to work and was talking with my co-workers about it and they remembered when it happened and was telling me about it.

Ok was this the guy that killed his parents when he was young, and became obsessed with his niece and killed her? Then hung himself in the garage?

Yes. He killed his niece and his wife at the same time and then hung himself.

Ok I saw a show on him, very interesting. The show was older and they didnt mention that he was a serial killer.
