A hacksaw with ?potential hair on the blade? and several guns and knives were among the dozens of items seized from the home of the man accused of killing a Texas Woman?s University student earlier this month, according to a search warrant affidavit.
Police also found ?fire pit sift remains,? a ?possible bone fragment? and seven possible blood samples, the search warrant affidavit says.
The warrant?s receipt lists what authorities found and seized at the far north Fort Worth home of Charles Dean Bryant, 30.
A warrant was also obtained for Bryant?s electronic devices to search for evidence ?that will show or tend to show the
suspect?s involvement in the collection of Child Pornography,? according to the search warrant. The devices seized were three cell phones, a tablet, a laptop computer and three memory cards.
A description of the evidence found in the SUV and on Bryant?s devices was not available in the documents released this week. But during an examination of Bryant?s phone, police ?
stumbled onto images suspected to be child pornography,? said Sgt. Robert Eberling, police spokesman, on Tuesday.
?It is common practice to obtain a separate search warrant for that specific crime,? Eberling said.
A portion of the warrant for the house, which previously was sealed, was released to WFAA on Monday night and later obtained by the Star-Telegram.
Bryant has been charged with capital murder in the death of Jacqueline Vandagriff, 24, who was found burned and dismembered in a park near Lake Grapevine on Sept. 14.
The two were seen together the night before at a Denton bar ? where police believe they met for the first time ? and Vandagriff's cell phone was traced to the area of Bryant?s home near Haslet later that night.
The next morning, on Sept. 14, Vandagriff?s body was found burning in a blue kiddie pool at Acorn Woods Lake on the southwest edge of Lake Grapevine.
Authorities searched Bryant?s home on Sand Hills Drive in far north Fort Worth on Sept. 18.
They found multiple guns and knives, including a handgun, a shotgun and a .22-caliber rifle, according to the search warrant.
A charcoal lighter fluid bottle was also found at the home, the warrant said. An ?accelerant? was used in the burning of Vandagriff?s body, according to an arrest warrant affidavit released last week.
Other items seized from the home included: a shovel and two Wal-Mart receipts (Bryant, according to an affidavit, was seen purchasing a shovel at Wal-Mart the morning Vandagriff was found dead), a zip tie with hair fibers, a burned piece of wood, a ?wooden hatchet pipe,? a black notebook with handwritten notes
and an empty package of Cenforce, a medicine used to treat erectile dysfunction.
DNA swabs were collected from the knob of the home?s back door and from a faucet handle in the backyard. Several soil and water samples were also collected.
Grapevine police apparently searched a silver Mitsubushi SUV, as well. A warrant was issued to seize the vehicle to search for any DNA or items associated with Vandagriff
The morning Vandagriff was found, a 911 caller had reported seeing a man leave Acorn Woods Park in a light-colored SUV.
A search warrant was obtained to search a Mazda 6 car, which is believed to have belonged to Vandagriff, but evidence found there was not available Tuesday.
Bryant remains in Tarrant County jail with bail set at $1 million.
