Teenage girl rescued by cops after tied up in shipping container, gagged with her underwear and raped with wire by Ex-Boyfriend.
This is the harrowing moment a 17-year-old was rescued after being gagged with her own underwear and tied up in a shipping container.
Nikitah Beadman had been the victim of "evil and depraved" rape by her ex Robert Galleghan in Tallai, south east Queensland.
The sick attack took place in 2012, just after she had split from Galleghan over his aggressive behaviour.
However she attended a party at his home as they gathered with mutual friends - but that's when he set upon her.
Their friends tried to stop him, but they were threatened with a knife and fled.
Speaking of the attack, Ms Beadman told Nine Network's A Current Affair: "I knew what was going to happen.
"He always said he'd bury me out there. I actually thought I was dead."
She was carried into the back of Galleghan's property where a shipping container was located, and he tied her to a trolley with wire.
The wire was wrapped around her neck so tightly she could hardly breath.
Then, the vile Galleghan gagged her with her own underwear before raping her with wire.
Ms Beadman said the attack was "not in a sexual way" but "in a torture way, so I couldn't have kids".
During the attack, Galleghan also repeatedly stamped on her stomach before officers arrived, when he told officers that he had been assaulted and wanted to go with officers to the station and make a statement.
However one of the officers spotted the shipping container and heard Ms Beadman's faint cry coming from it.
That's when they began recording, with an officer at the scene saying the attack was "evil and depraved".
The footage was shown to Ms Beadman for the first time yesterday, and she said seeing it was "kind of strange".
"I remember being there, and I remember seeing it from a 3D perspective... something pulled me back," she added.
Galleghan, who was 12 years older than Ms Beadman, first began showing abusive tendencies towards her three months into their relationship.
But he responded to any suggestion that they should split by making threats against her and her family.
Judge David Kent said at Galleghan's trial that the victim has been left in constant pain.
He said: "[It was] protracted violence in a variety of forms of disablement. I shudder to think what would have happened if the police had just left."
The court heard how he had previously attacked a man with a sword, and at the time of the rape he was on parole for assaulting a police officer.
After pleading guilty he was sentenced to eight years in prison and will be released in 2021, having already served three years in custody.
And after he was jailed last month Ms Beadman took to Facebook to write: "It was a liberating feeling hearing and seeing this man the defendant Robert James Galleghan stand up and plead guilty.
"It's finally over I now lay at peace... I thank all the people that have supported me through this. Justice has finally been served."
