    Eli Tafoya - 25 July 2016

    Eli Tafoya, age 34 of Clovis, NM passed away Monday, July 25, 2016 at Plains Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Faith Christian Family Church at 12:00 pm, with Pastor David and Sarah Lombrana officiating. Cremation has taken place and a private burial will be held at a later date.

    Eli was born on May 21, 1982 to Robert Garcia and Linda (Tafoya) Garcia in Portales, NM. He was of the Christian faith and loved spending time with his family. Eli was a care giver for ENMRSH. He enjoyed playing poker, darts, and dominos. Eli looked up to his grandfather, Epifanio Tafoya as a father figure. He attened Legacy Life Family Church where he was an active member of Celebrate Recovery. Eli enjoyed coaching his boys softball games and had a servants' heart for helping others. Eli never meet a stranger, enjoyed making people laugh, and smile.

    Survivors include: his mother; Linda Tafoya Garcia, father; Robert Garcia, fiance; Shavon Kuykendall, four sons; Izaiah Tafoya, Joseph Tafoya, Kaleb Tafoya, Dylan Muraco, two brothers; Tim (Selena) Garcia and Matthew Garcia, his grandfather; Epifanio Tafoya, an aunt/sister; Liz (Shane) McGregor of Albuquerque, NM, an uncle; George Tafoya of Clovis, NM, and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins, and extended family. He is preceded in death by his grandmother; Josie Tafoya, and aunt; Betty Tafoya.

    Very sad. I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but one of his friends (who was also in recovery) has a lot of posts on her FB about suicide prevention. Either way, RIP Eli.
