    Darwin Award?

This is a local story by me.  A guy who owns a tree trimming service got pulled into a wood chipper when he tried to dislodge a log with his foot.  I guess he had family there at the time it happened, and they witnessed it.  I believe his nephew tried to reverse the chipper, but he couldn't manage to  stop it in time.  It took about 7 seconds for him to go through it.  It's sad because he had 2 little girls and one on the way.  Young guy, only 30.

Umm...and at the end of one of the news article, it says that he died at the scene.  Really?  Anybody ever seen what comes out the end of a wood chipper?  Now imagine a 6'8 body shoved through it.  Horrible.  Absolutely horrific, whoever was on the scene, or had to show up to the scene are going to see that shit for the rest of their lives.

I bet his last words were "I'm going to dislodge this log even IF IT KILLS ME!"

Occupational Safety and Health Administration said the death investigation could take up to six months.

    They have to investigate this?!

I suppose they have to.  Someone might get it in their head to sue the maker of the chipper.  So they might investigate just for that reason.  I mean the guy stuck his foot in it, there really wasn't a malfunction.  The only thing I can think of is if the chipper wouldn't go in reverse.  Because they said the nephew tried to make it reverse and it wouldn't.  But it happened so fast..that who knows?

If it only took 7 seconds for him to get chopped up I doubt they would have had much time to stop the thing..

Darwin almost always wins, but he doesn't win often enough.  There are still weak links floating around out there who are only alive because of sheer dumb luck.

Unfortunately, I have no control over who stays and who does not.  If I had my way, there would be very few people wandering around these days.  But I like your enthusiasm, Ron, so here's a tidbit of information for you.  There is a woman in the West Village who is quite enamored of you.  You know who she is.  You might want to pursue that and see where it leads.
