I hate to throw shade at the soon to be ex, but I do hope they're looking at his (maybe) involvement in this too.

Grandma could have thrown herself on the sword for him(her son) to gain everything.
Now he doesn't have any divorce battles, alimony payments, child support, and now he def. has full custody of the kids. Plus he no longer has to deal with the wife and her new boyfriend.
