Patrice Price (26) shot by her 2 year old son

A 2-year-old boy accidentally shot and killed his mother on Tuesday while she was driving in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It adds to a growing list of accidental shootings by toddlers.

Patrice Price, 26, was driving her security guard boyfriend?s car on Highway 175 when the 2-year-old fatally shot her in the back with a single bullet.

Her boyfriend had left his gun under the driver?s seat. It slid out and her young son in the backseat grabbed it, Milwaukee County Sheriff?s Office said in a statement. Price?s 1-year-old child was in the front seat when the shooting happened.

Price was unresponsive when authorities arrived on the scene and was pronounced dead on the scene.

?My chest has been hurting,? the victim?s father Andre Price told WISN. ?I wanted to hold my daughter for one last time.?

Accidental shootings ? where the victim is often the child who shot the gun ? have become frighteningly commonplace.

At least 69 children aged 17 and younger had picked up a gun and accidentally shot someone so far this year, according to data from gun control advocacy group Everytown for Gun Safety, issued before this latest tragedy. At least 265 kids were responsible for accidental shootings in 2015.

?More than two-thirds of these tragedies could be avoided if gun owners stored their guns responsibly and prevented children from accessing them,? Everytown said.

This story has been updated to include new details from Milwaukee County Sheriff?s Office.

    It slid to the backseat.

Also, there are 1 yr olds that learn how to unbuckle themselves, although it is rather young. The gun should have been in the trunk, unless the law is different in Wisconsin?

It appears that there were two children, a two year old (in the back seat) and a one year old (in the front seat). I also want to know why a one year old was in the front seat.

    Reading fail.

Maybe Wisconsin just has some really fucked up laws and all hell can break loose in the car?

This The fact that her 2 year old had access to a gun kinda points to being irresponsible all the way around.
