Jasmine Deane (23) passed away quietly at home

    http://www.mydeathspace.com/article/2007/01/23/Jasmine_Deane_(23)_passed_away_quietly_at_home

A rare Aussie one.. I wonder how she died.  I have read comments about how unexpected it was and also how someone felt lucky to spend her last day with her.

A comment from her sister's page

    My name is Katy.
    I'm 14 years old in a week,
    I have a best friend.
    I have a boyfriend.
I would like to meet new friends.
My new years resolution this year is to be happier.
Butt unfortunatley my year has started out crap.
So if you see me frowning,
    Or I look upsett.
    Come and talk to me.
    Because I will need friendship,
To gett me through this rough patchh.

Yeah, I can't get a clue on how she died. Her survey thing said she didn't do drugs, but she drank. maybe she had a health problem that she didn't know about....but she passed away peacefully?

Someone's entries on some bullshit MySpace Survey does NOT mean as much as an autopsy.

     That was funny

I am guessing sleeping pill overdose.. Either that or undiagnosed heart condition.  My two fallbacks for unexplained deaths.  She seemed really genuine from all that I have read about her.

It was late, Ron. Yep, when I was her age I woulda said I didn't do drugs either. If it was drugs I wonder if it was on purpose. These perfect seeming little girls seem to die as "mysteriously"and almost more often than the little blackeeyeliner emo kids.

My first thought was suicide too. If it were a health problem, you would think they would say died peacefully from _______ illness.

since she was from australia maybe "quietly" is what they use for suddenly.  It is odd that she died so young.  None of her friends have like RIP in there headlines like most.  Only a few comments also on her page after her death.

    ...

Yeah, and maybe we say "the dog quietly lunged up and attacked him" as well?

As for Jas, I don't think it was a suicide. I don't really get the whole "suicide vibe" from her MySpace or memorial... you know, people wondering "why", saying they wish they had known, that sort of thing. Also, you wouldn't really describe a suicide as "quiet".

Re: Jasmine Deane (23) passed away quietly at home

If it was suicide, the only types it would probably be would be sleeping pill od or carbon monoxide poisoning- going to sleep and not waking up could be described as a quiet death.
One thing MDS has taught me is that you can never assume - I would have said definitely not suicide before this site but you never know.

Loss of one of the best girls in my life...
    Current mood:  aggravated
    Category: Friends

So I've had a lot of time to think over the last week. Here it goes.

My first thought...People spend way too much time unaware of how much the people around them truly mean. We take for granted the people in our lives, and dont even realise how much they mean to us until they're gone.

My second thought... why do only the good die young?

Last Monday, one of my best friends, and the most amazing woman I had ever met tragically died suddenly, aged 23 and a half. Jasmine Eliza Deane was the best friend I could have asked for, yet in life, I rarely told her how much she meant to me.

23 and a half... not even a year older than me. Exercised twice most days and was the fittest I had ever seen her... Why her? what is the purpose of taking the life of a beautiful, amazing 23 year old? She will never experience marriage, child birth, the joys of growing old with someone you love.

Explain this injustice to me. It makes no sense.

I am so sick of being told that everything happens for a reason. Although it may be true, explain the reasoning behind this? To leave her family and friends wondering what she (and they) did to deserve going thru this pain and suffering? Bull Shit.

Anyway, I suppose the purpose of this rant is to remind you - if you love someone, make sure they know it. As much as possible. As Jas' mum said to me on Monday, "go home and give your mum a big hug, just because you can" And don't just do it to your mum, do it to anyone you care about. Stop saying tomorrow and do it today. cause you never know when tomorrow may not come.

    Her friend wrote a blog...

Doesn't say much but it was tragic.
