Maybe a bad batch of heroin?
http://www.10tv.com/content/stories/...-hospital.htmlLanders was found with a handgun and three syringes used for heroin in his pockets. He was charged with carrying concealed weapons and possession of drugs.
WCPO said authorities described the pair as the mom and dad of the child in the hospital.
It just goes to show you that even those who are "picture perfect" can be addicts. Very sad for the children.
I mean what the absolute fuck? Obviously appearances aren't everything, but those pictures are like perfect happy all-American family. And not the kind where everyone is smiling and wearing Gap khakis but Dad gives douche chills or has a penchant for teeth whitening and Mom has dead eyes. THEY LOOK PERFECT.
Murder-suicide attempt after a psychotic break? I would say maybe they got bad news about the littlest one, but surely they wouldn't check out and leave the other child?
Someone took down the GoFundMe.
Father who overdosed in baby's hospital room appears in court
http://local12.com/news/local/father...pears-in-court
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - The Alabama father accused of overdosing in his child's hospital room at Cincinnati Children's Hospital appeared in court Friday. Wesley Landers faced drug and gun charges for the incident Jan. 7 that also left his wife dead.
Both Wesley Landers and his wife were found unresponsive in their seven-month-old child's hospital room. Wesley was in the bathroom. According to court papers, he had a syringe in his arm and a loaded gun in his pocket. Two more were on the sink. Emergency crews were able to revive him with Narcan. His wife couldn't be saved.
Landers' public defender says the couple has two young children. Another family member is expected to come up to take care of the baby in the hospital. Their other child is staying with a grandmother in Alabama.
The prosecutor's office asked for a high bond, saying Landers is at risk of overdosing again. The judge set bond at $400,000.
Heroin is a bitch, man. I know a ton of people, good people, who it got a hold of and a lot of them are dead now. Who knows what the reason they had for trying it for the first time, but once you're in its grip it's hard as hell to get out of it.

i'm still pissed off that this dude had a loaded gun in a hospital, a childrens hospitals. fuck that guy.
It makes you wonder why these two people had guns on them....IN A CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL.
It sounds like the man has a past history of drug use- got clean, changed his life, and married Mary. Family says that Mary was not on drugs, but I think she was. That's the scary thing about drugs- you don't always know the people that are addicted.
Most articles say that both mom and dad were found with the needles still in their arms. I'm still going with the theory- a bad batch of heroin.
Would a bad batch kill you instantly?
The family had to shut the gofundme page down because they were receiving so many negative comments.
http://www.al.com/news/huntsville/in...d_by_over.htmlLanders was booked on gun charges because he had a handgun in his pants pocket when he was found, police say. His wife also allegedly had a gun in her possession at the time of her death.
The charge of having a weapon while under disability likely stems from a 2008 conviction in Alabama on charges of carrying a weapon without a permit and possession of marijuana. Court records show that Landers received probation on those charges; charges of DUI and illegal possession of prescription drugs - one Xanax pill found in his vehicle - were later dismissed.
Landers underwent drug abuse treatment as part of his court case, the documents show.
http://www.wcpo.com/news/local-news/...drens-hospitalCINCINNATI – With MaryAnn Landers dead and Wesley Landers in jail from a heroin overdose at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, the grandparents of a 7-month-old girl and her sister are their new caretakers, police said.
The grandparents were in Cincinnati Friday, and Chief Tom Synan of the Hamilton County Heroin Task Force said he expected the grandparents had a tough road ahead – not just in caring for the young girls, but also in having to explain what their parents did.
"Within a second (the grandparents) are now the parents,” Synan said. “So, they're going through the whole process again and one day they'll have to explain to that child what happened to their family -- what happened to their parents -- and why they're raising them."

Berm, yes a bad batch, which is usually higher than normal street purity will kill you pretty much straight away.
There's a bad batch in Massachusetts called hollywood heroin. The latest news is it contains a large amount of fentanyl, which when mixed with heroin becomes super strong.
I couldn't believe how perfect they looked. Like zero indication whatsoever of any type of shady happenings. I would never have believed it if you told me they were on drugs, had this not happened. Very strange and sad story. I feel for the kids.
This, every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
I mean, I get it, heroin is addictive.... But we know this, and people still do that shit anyway? What a waste of a human. Hi, my name is Mary Ann and I'm a closet addict who easily could have killed my baby with my habit. Oh, and my hubby is an enabling piece of human shit too!! What a great family we have!! Smile for the selfie!!!
Fuck these two. At least now maybe the baby has a better chance at a normal life.
Sorry, shit like this makes me rage. She's living proof that beauty really is only skin deep.
Now for the haters...bring on your flameage and smite me for speaking the ugly truth that no one wants to say. Yes, doing drugs is a personal decision and that alone doesn't make you a horrible person. But doing it with a new baby, while you're in the hospital, having an enabling hubby who also carries a loaded firearm AND drugs in his pocket for you? Yes, that makes you a bad fucking person. Not to mention a fucking horrible parent. Fuck these losers.
Don't like what I have to say? I respect that. Go fuck yourself.
See I'm the opposite. I don't look at people's fb pics and thinks their lives are perfect-I think that's the image they want to portray.
The thing about heroin is, it isn't controlled and regulated by the FDA so god knows what else is in it, what its cut with, the potency, etc. even a seasoned user would not be able to gauge what amount will indeed kill them. Heroin users spend their whole time using trying to achieve the high they got the first time they used. That will never happen. It's sad.
I feel bad for the kids in this story.
Does anyone know why their 7 month old needed surgery? Wonder if mom was doing drugs while preggers and it caused some complications?
I found this on the mother's FB (doesn't say specifically what was wrong):
"We will be traveling back to Cincinnati January 6,2016 for surgery to reconstruct Lucy's trachea. We will have to stay in Cincinnati at least a week. Any help would be greatly appreciated for expenses while up there. Even if all you can do is pray, we can use that too!! Thank you guys"
Found this page that has Lucy's story https://www.facebook.com/Sweetlucyclaire/
Prayers for Lucy Claire
August 16, 2015 ?
Here is Lucy's story from the start. When she was born, the umbilical cord was tightly wrapped around her neck. We have no idea how long it was that way. From the beginning, her breathing was labored, called stridor. It sounded like she was highly congested when she really wasn't. Our pediatrician suggested laryngomalacia and referred us to a pediatric ENT specialist and first appointment with him was 8/13. That doctor looked down as much as he could in the office but found some kind of blockage below her vocal chords. He wanted to schedule her for surgery ASAP. We went in the next morning at 8am, thinking he would look down her throat with a scope, find a flap of tissue, laser it off, and we would be back home that afternoon. Unfortunately what he found was worse. She has congenital subglottic stenosis. That basically means her trachea (the tube that brings air to her lungs) is extremely tiny. He could barely get a 2 millimeter scope down. He came out to us in the waiting room and gave us the news, saying the previously discussed worse case scenario was now a reality. He had to insert a tracheotomy. We were in unbelievable shock. You never think it will be you that is going through this.
As for her prognosis, we will soon have a catscan to see further what is going on. We will have regular trips to her specialist that is an hour away from where we live. Home health will get our house set up with some medical machines and supplies. Mom will have to learn how to care for a tracheotomy. In four months time, Lucy will be put back to sleep for doctor to scope her and see how her airway has grown. There is a chance she will outgrow this, but there is also a chance she will have to have reconstructive surgery on her trachea. We are taking this one day at a time.
As a result of this, mom has to resign from her job to care for Lucy. We know we can do this but things will be tight. We have to make it through one day at a time!
Thanks Moose :) I guess it could really be caused by anything.
Oh come on, sure you can! Some stalker threatening their lives which is why they had guns in the hospital room..for protection, ya know...and someone snuck in the room...maybe a Dr connection...yeah that's it....and killed them but made it look like drug OD. Duh! They're saints, I tell you.

If that was the case wouldn't it be easier to off the baby? On the page I posted further down the dad said she pulled the trach out at 3 am and luckily he was awake to get her to the ER. I'm guessing she still has that in and could have pulled it out at bed time and when they woke up the baby would have suffocated. I'm glad they did/tried to off themselves instead of the baby if that is the case.
