She seems like more of a stalker than a hater. She was posting user names and posts. She was in deep. Should have signed up.

She did. I checked my inbox and she sent me a message around that time. I think I ignored her, like she said in the article everyone did but one person.

This was her message to me (her user name was "caughtinysterday"):

    learning more about this site
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Kristen Martin, and I am a writer from New York. I stumbled across this site a few months ago while Googling a childhood friend of mine who died in a hit-and-run car accident more than a decade ago; the MyDeathSpace article on her was one of the first hits. Since then, I have been poking around in the forums, quite curious with the discussions of the deaths of social media users. I often write about grief and loss, and I am interested in the ways that the internet has changed the culture of grieving, and what it means to live on after death via the internet profiles we create for ourselves.

I am working on an essay about online grieving culture and MyDeathSpace for Real Life Magazine, a fairly new online mag about living with technology, and was hoping that you might be willing to answer a few questions about MyDeathSpace. My main questions are these: What does this website mean to you? What do you think its major appeal is for users? How do you find out about the deaths featured in the forums and articles (meaning, how do you search for these people's deaths, Facebook profiles, and medical examiner information)?

    Thank you for your time.

    Best,
