Medical examiner issues provisional cause of death for Bradfords

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner issued a provisional report to the New Richmond Police Department on Friday, Sept. 4, confirming that the "manner of death" for Courtney L. Bradford and Jasmine L. Bradford was homicide.

The Bradfords, who were found deceased in their home at 1400 Hallewood Boulevard in the City of New Richmond at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, were stabbed multiple times.
On Wednesday, Sept. 2, the St. Croix County Emergency Communications?Center dispatched the New Richmond Fire Department and the New Richmond Police Department to the Bradfords' home.
Information was?received that there was the smell of smoke at the residence, as well as the sound of water running. Upon?entering the residence, the bodies of two deceased individuals were discovered by emergency personnel.
The Medical Examiner has ?provisionally? listed the cause of death? for Courtney L. Bradford as being?loss of blood due to multiple stab wounds and ruled the ?manner of death? as a homicide.
Courtney L. Bradford suffered numerous stab wounds to her posterior neck and dorsal torso region, and?also soft tissue injuries to the anterior facial region and left shoulder area.
The medical examiner has ?provisionally? listed the cause of death for Jasmine L. Bradford as being possible asphyxia with loss of blood due to assault with stab wounds and ruled the ?manner of death"?as a homicide.
Jasmine L. Bradford suffered numerous stab wounds to her posterior neck region, according to the report. Additional findings?included multiple petechial hemorrhages to the anterior facial region.
There were also soft tissue injuries?with hemorrhage consistent with a sexual assault.
Surface thermal injuries were also located on the?lower torso and lower extremities.
Cristian Daniel "Danny" Nunez-Ortega, 37, a former boyfriend of Courtney Bradford, has been charged with two felonies to date: taking and using a vehicle without the owner's consent and identity theft for allegedly using Courtney Bradford's credit card.
Nunez-Ortega is alleged to have driven Bradford's vehicle to Iowa and then flew to Texas.?
Nunez-Ortega was arrested Thursday, Sept. 3, in El Paso, Texas, and is being considered as a "person of interest" in the murder of the Bradfords.
The investigation is continuing with the New Richmond Police Department being assisted by the St. Croix?County Sheriff?s Office, St. Croix County Medical Examiner, Wisconsin Department of Justice - Division of?Criminal Investigation and Crime Lab, Wisconsin State Patrol and the Wisconsin State Fire Marshall.
