Zachery Ty Bryan, who starred in the 1990s television comedy “Home Improvement,” was sentenced to 36 months of bench probation in Oregon after pleading guilty to a pair of domestic violence charges.

Bryan, 39, who played Tim Allen’s oldest son Brad Taylor in all 203 episodes of “Home Improvement” from 1991 to 1999, was charged with menacing and assault in the fourth degree constituting domestic violence, Lane County District Attorney Patricia Perlow said in a statement.

Six other charges, which included harassment, coercion, strangulation, interference with making a police report and two additional counts of menacing and assault in the fourth degree, were all dismissed, Lane County Assistant District Attorney Alex Pierce, who handed the case, told “Today” via email.

Other conditions of the guilty plea were that Bryan must participate in a batterer intervention program and must have no contact with the victim, USA Today reported.

“He was sentenced to 36 months of bench probation, with conditions of probation including the program Bridges2Safety and no contact with the victim as well as the other standard conditions in a domestic violence sentencing,” according to Perlow’s statement.

We were talking about Pat Sajak and the fact? that he's a jerk. And my friend was wondering how old people could put up with him, so I had to remind her of what passed for funny back in the day.

    https://www.vice.com/en/article/akd9...eel-of-fortune

Pat Sajak Has Always Been a Dick
The longtime 'Wheel of Fortune' host is facing criticism this week after he seemed to imitate a contestant's speech impediment.

    Pat Sajak Criticized Mocking Player

At the time of this writing, Pat Sajak's Twitter account only has a dozen tweets, and they're all the kind of empty aphorisms that boring people paint on signs to hang in their equally boring kitchens. "The real test of manners is facing bad ones with good ones," one tweet reads. "Nothing is more exhausting than anger. Nothing is more relaxing than love," another sighs.

He hasn't typed anything in over a week, and his most recent post is a 26-word fist-shake in the direction of...schadenfreude. "How nice for those who have lived such exemplary lives that they can express glee when others have their lives ruined by a mistake, real or perceived," he harrumphed. He doesn't specify who or what he's talking about, but given Sajak's ultra-conservative politics, it's probably Ted Cruz, Gina Carano, or somebody else who sucks.

That tweet also feels strangely prescient, since the longtime 'Wheel of Fortune' host is facing criticism this week, after he seemed to imitate a contestant who had a speech impediment. During Monday's episode of the show, Sajak introduced Chris Brimble, who appeared to speak with a slight lisp. When responding to Brimble, Sajak said "I thee," instead of "I see," which is the kind of dick move you'd expect from an 8-year-old playground bully, not a 74-year-old who makes a reported $15 million a year to pretend he's excited every time somebody asks for an H.

Sajak has been roundly dragged on social media since the episode aired. "As someone with a lisp- don't do this. Ever," one woman tweeted. "We might ignore you or laugh it off at the time but HOLY CRAP how about some tact?" Others called him an "arrogant overpaid jerk," or wondered whether he was "purposely trying to get fired."

This isn't the first time that some of Sajak's onscreen comments have been scrutinized (more on that in a sec), but this seems different. Literally imitating a contestant to his face is personal and gross, and it seems harder to shrug off than other recent examples of his saltiness.

During a strange 10-day stretch last fall, Sajak chastised a contestant for "interrupting" while he read a promo from Dicks Sporting Goods, and told another to stop "making sound effects" after they let out a celebratory yelp. He also called another "ungrateful" for suggesting that the use of the term "kitchen oven" in a puzzle seemed redundant. "Don't! You won! Don't argue," Sajak shouted. "You got the puzzle. Ungrateful players! I've had it!?

Everyone's interpretation of those incidents might differ based on how they feel about Sajak himself. Longtime 'Wheel'-watchers might think it's all funny, or that it's just part of the "beleaguered game show host" character that he's been playing since the early 1980s. But if you can't separate the 'Wheel' Sajak from the outspoken conservative and occasional Twitter troll that he becomes when the cameras switch off, then it might seem slightly less good-natured. (There's also a third possibility: that he was having a shit afternoon when they filmed that run of games. Wheel of Fortune films as many as six episodes in a single day. At the end of each show, Sajak walks backstage, maybe tops up his self-tanner, and changes clothes before heading back out to the set to introduce another three contestants.)

Unlike Sajak, late Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek was rarely chided for anything other than his gloriously elaborate pronunciation of the word 'genre,' but he could slice a contestant to ribbons if he chose to. When Susan Cole appeared on the show, she described her fellow nerdcore enthusiasts as "people who identify as nerdy, rapping about the things they love, video games, science fiction, having a hard time meeting romantic partners." Trebek paused for a beat before responding "Losers, in other words."

But Trebek was largely spared the criticism that attaches itself to Sajak, possibly because he was smart enough to swerve social media, and he rarely discussed his politics in public (although a 2014 New Republic profile noted that he watched FOX News in his dressing room). Meanwhile, Sajak seems content to reinforce his reputation as a two-legged salt lick. There's probably a reason why he routinely deletes his old Twitter takes, because if he has a few minutes with his phone, he'll peck out anti-liberal, anti-science one-liners that appeal to people who use the term "face diaper" while they're screaming at the supermarket worker who asked them to wear a mask.
Some of his greatest now-deleted hits include questioning the coronavirus stay-at-home orders last spring, tweeting that "global warming apologists are unpatriotic racists," mocking coming out announcements by "proclaiming [his] heterosexuality," and bringing the big grandpa energy with his observation that "those who oppose charter schools are racists," and that it "felt good" to use that word. (After backlash to the "unpatriotic racists" tweet, he wrote that it was "fun to poke a stick in a hornets' nest just to hear the buzzing.")

Sajak's frequently culled Twitter feed is just a short-form version of the schtick that he's typed for more than a decade. Between 2004 and 2013, he wrote for conservative website Human Events. (The site's current front page features the headlines "Why the Left Can't Meme" and "America Mourns the Loss of Legendary Radio Host and Patriot Rush Limbaugh.") Sajak's politically minded paragraphs covered his continued skepticism about climate change; complaints about the liberal press and "unhinged" Democrats; and how he can't have "serious discussions" with liberals. (If he was upset about his Lefty pals "accusing members of the Right of sowing the seeds of hatred" way back in 2006, then hoooo boy, this January was probably a ride in Pat's house.)

Sajak seems to have realized that he'll face zero professional repercussions for his snide comments on screen and his Huckabee Sanders-level hot takes online. He's also locked down one of the rare entertainment gigs where his conservative opinions may be shared by a large swath of the audience. According to one demographic report, Wheel's viewers are the oldest of any television program, with an average age of "over 65." The average age of the studio audience is also 60-plus, which is why Wheel! (and Jeopardy!, which is equally appealing to the olds) were among the first shows to respond to the coronavirus pandemic by announcing that they would film in empty studios.

So until Sajak decides that he's going to walk off the Wheel set forever, this week's controversy probably won't be the last. (VICE has reached out to Wheel of Fortune for comment.) To put it in bland terms that Pat might eventually tweet, "when somebody shows who they are, believe them." And for the contestants who might be on the other end of his dumb snark, WE'RE S_RRY PAT'S A D_CK.

I liked that movie. Chevy Chase, George Wendt and Farrah Fawcett (RIP) who I had a huge crush on when I was a kid. Her and Olivia Newton-John.

Will Smith has revealed he's open to a political career.

The 52-year-old actor - who has joked about stepping into politics in the past - would absolutely "consider" a run for office in the future, although he's not sure whether his role should remain "artistic".

Speaking to Jon Favreau on Crooked Media's 'Pod Save America' podcast, he said: "I think for now I’ll let that office get cleaned up a little bit and then I’ll consider that at some point down the line.

“I don’t know, it’s like, I absolutely have an opinion, I’m optimistic, I’m hopeful, I believe in understanding between people and I believe in the possibility of harmony...

“So, I will certainly do my part, whether it remains artistic or, or, at some point ventures into the political arena.”

Meanwhile, his comments come after fellow Hollywood star Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson admitted he's open to the idea of running for the US Presidency.

Last month, the 48-year-old actor said: "I would consider a presidential run in the future if that's what the people wanted.

"Truly I mean that, and I'm not flippant in any way with my answer. That would be up to the people ... So I would wait, and I would listen."

Dwayne previously suggested he could challenge Donald Trump for the US Presidency in 2020.

And the action star confessed to being wowed by the support he'd received from fans.

He reflected: "I’ve been really been blown away. And it’s so flattering. And I think you have to question why. I think it’s because, you know, a lot of people want to see a different leadership today - I’m sorry, not different, but better leadership today, right?"

The wrestler-turned-actor saw a wave of support come his way after he suggested he'd like to become the US President one day.

Asked what personal qualities made him suitable for the role, the 'Baywatch' star - who is one of Hollywood's most bankable actors - replied: "I think more poised, less noise.

"And I also think that over the years I’ve become a guy that a lot of people kind of relate to: get up early in the morning at a ridiculous hour, go to work and spend time with the troops, take care of my family.

"I love taking care of people. And I think that kind of thing really resonates with people, especially today."

I don't really watch TV, but I read through the highlights of it. I've never been a fan of the Royal family or the whole setup, but none of it surprised me.

Same. They seem so fake, I don't get what the obsession with them is.

Meghan Markle is believed to have filed a formal complaint to ITV over former “Good Morning Britain” presenter Piers Morgan’s comments about her suicide revelations.

Variety understands that Markle wrote to CEO Carolyn McCall on Monday, raising concerns over how Morgan’s words would affect the mental health dialogue in the U.K. and may even impact someone contemplating suicide.

The issue of mental health is paramount for ITV, which needs to be seen as taking the matter seriously following a spate of suicides linked to its hit show “Love Island,” including that of popular host Caroline Flack a year ago.

Both ITV and Markle’s representatives declined to comment on the matter.

Morgan quit the popular morning news program on Tuesday shortly after U.K. media regulator Ofcom opened an investigation into his comments on Monday’s episode. British tabloid The Sun reported that Morgan, a permanent fixture on the program since 2015, exited after ITV bosses asked him to apologize on air and he refused. The broadcaster declined to verify the report.

Responding to Markle and Prince Harry’s bombshell CBS interview, in which Markle revealed to Oprah Winfrey her mental health struggles and suicidal thoughts, a belligerent Morgan cast doubt on Markle’s comments.

“Who did you go to? What did they say to you?” demanded Morgan. “I’m sorry, I don’t believe a word she said, Meghan Markle. I wouldn’t believe it if she read me a weather report.”

Although Morgan later clarified his remarks on “Good Morning Britain,” noting that, “It’s not for me to question if she felt suicidal, I am not in her mind and that is for her to say,” the presenter on Wednesday declared that he’s “had time to reflect on my opinion, and I still don’t [believe Meghan Markle in her Oprah interview].”

Ofcom launched its investigation on Tuesday after more than 41,000 people wrote in to complain about Morgan’s behaviour.

Earlier in the day, on Tuesday’s edition of the program, Morgan stormed off set while “Good Morning Britain” was being broadcast live, following an altercation with weatherman Alex Beresford, who called Morgan’s antics “diabolical.” The host then left, uttering, “Sorry. You can trash me, mate, but not on my own show. See you later.”

The Oprah interview with the couple has sent shockwaves through the U.K., where a peak of 12.3 million viewers tuned into the broadcast on ITV. Buckingham Palace on Tuesday responded to the allegations of racism made in the interview, noting that the “whole family was saddened” to learn the “full extent” of the pair’s trials in the U.K. and the matter will be addressed in private.

. Bloomberg) -- Television journalist Geraldo Rivera says he may run for the U.S. Senate seat now held by retiring Ohio Senator Rob Portman.

Rivera, in a tweet tagged from Siesta Key, Florida, said he was ?pondering running? for Portman?s seat. Rivera, 77, has lived in Shaker Heights, Ohio, since 2017 and has hosted a radio show ?Geraldo in Cleveland? since 2018.

Rivera was a longtime ally of former President Donald Trump but their relationship soured after the 2020 election. Rivera criticized Trump for his refusal to accept his loss to President Joe Biden, saying Trump was acting ?like an entitled frat boy.? He said the former president was guilty of inciting the Jan. 6th riot at the U.S. Capitol, though he added that Biden should pardon him.

Rivera, who?s had a long television career as a reporter and talk show host and is now a ?roaming correspondent at large? with the Fox News network, also toyed with the idea of a Republican Senate run in 2014 in New Jersey. He never became a candidate.

Rivera did not immediately respond to requests for comment and did not mention on which party line he would run. He has said he voted to re-elect Barack Obama, a Democrat, in 2012.

Portman is one of five Republican senators who have said they will not seek re-election in 2022. Missouri Senator Roy Blunt on Monday was the latest to announce he would not run, joining Richard Burr of North Carolina, Richard Shelby of Alabama and Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania.

The FDA sent a Cease and Desist order on the Kardashians over BioHaven Pharmaceuticals endorsement.

Reality star Khloe Kardashian’s appearance on "The View" talk show earned Biohaven Pharmaceuticals loads of media impressions and mentions last summer—but now it's earned the pharma company an FDA slapdown.

Kardashian appeared on the morning talk show last July just after she signed on as a Nurtec spokescelebrity. During the seven-minute segment, she talked about her daughter, her family’s reality series and her migraine headaches.

All fine so far. But she also called Nurtec ODT a “game changer,” claimed it works in 15-20 minutes and said it doesn’t give her rebound headaches like the other migraine meds she’s used. All while being recognized as a paid spokesperson for Biohaven and Nurtec.

Kardashian’s claims are false or misleading on efficacy and on risks, the FDA's Office of Prescription Drug Promotion (OPDP) wrote in the untitled letter issued Tuesday.

Biohaven acknowledged the FDA letter in a statement and added it is "working closely with the FDA to evaluate and respond.”

Along with Kardashian’s casual superlatives overstating efficacy, the OPDP pointed out that risk information is mostly missing from the segment. While the audio and video highlight Kardashian’s benefit claims, the risks are reduced to text only and in a small font size.

Instead of the typical laundry list of potential risks in TV ads, "The View" interview ends simply with host Whoopi Goldberg thanking Kardashian for being on the show to talk about migraine, asks her to repeat the drug name once more and then ends the segment saying, “We’ll be right back.” The segment is still available on the show's YouTube channel.

The untitled letter maintains that “the overall effect of disclosing risk information in this manner undermines the communication of risk information and thereby misleadingly minimizes the risks associated with the use of Nurtec ODT."

The watchdog further dinged Nurtec for failing to file the required Form FDA-2253 before the segment aired. The form and promotion submission is a required FDA filing for any drug advertising or promotion before its use. The OPDP said it reviewed the video interview on its own but also received one complaint through the FDA’s Bad Ad snitch program.

Khloe Kardashian joins sister Kim Kardashian in the bad ad doghouse in what's likely a first for family members receiving FDA promo reprimands. Kim was warned back in 2015 when she served as a spokesperson for Duchesnay morning sickness drug Diclegis. She posted an Instagram rave without an #ad label and with few risk details, but included a link to the drug’s website. Her post was captioned “OMG. Have you heard about this?” The FDA forced Duchesnay and Kim Kardashian to run another post listing all the risks.

The FDA did not delineate what if any action it may require Biohaven to take, only warning the pharma that it has 15 days to detail its response and explain its plans to discontinue the video’s use.

Khloe Kardashian, a social media star with more than 133 million followers on Instagram, signed on as a Biohaven Nurtec ambassador in July—and "The View" was one stop on her media day introductory tour. Khloe is currently featured in Nurtec branded TV ads running nationally and on the Nurtec website as part of Biohaven’s “Take Back Today” campaign.

Oh geez. What works for some, may not work for others. If you try it and it doesn't work, just move on to something else.

I didn't know Kim got in trouble for endorsing Diclegis. My GYNO office gave me a bunch of bottles for free. It's weak sauce and won't hurt the baby. It's stupid she got reprimanded for posting about it.

As many people here know I was super sick during my pregnancy, Diclegis helped for some of it.

I used to work at Once Upon a Child, and we had these "preggo pops" that people would come in looking for, and swore by. Lots of pregnant mothers thought it was a lifesaver and specifically went in our store to get them, to help with nausea.

Dude, they were just fucking candy

It must have been a placebo effect.

So I saw this vid on TMZ. Is it just me or is Tiffany Haddish massively fucked up? Like on a mix of things?

'OK, I'm done': Actress Stacey Dash washes her hands of supporting Trump and working for Fox News

Stacey Dash, best known for her roles as Dionne in Clueless and as the rare conservative in Hollywood, is walking away from her past support for former President Donald Trump.

In an interview with the Daily Mail published on Wednesday, Dash explained that the events of Jan. 6 contributed to her change of mind.

“I think the Capitol Riots were appalling,” she said. “When that happened, I was like, ‘Ok, I’m done. I’m truly done.’ Because senseless violence of any kind I denounce. What happened on Jan. 6 was just appalling and stupid.”

In 2016, Dash began supporting Trump and became a donor to the pro-Trump Great America PAC. She also wrote in defense of the then-candidate as people began arguing that he was inciting violence at his political rallies.

“There’s a lot of talk about Donald Trump being violent, condoning it, or at least inciting it,” she wrote in a March 2016 blog post. “But this is a total misread of our next President. First of all, he’s not responsible for what every random guy does — out of thousands.”

In the same interview, Dash expressed regret over her work for Fox News, where she had worked as a contributor since 2014 before the arrangement ended in 2016.

"I’ve lived my life being angry, which is what I was on Fox News. I was the angry, conservative, black woman. And at that time in my life, it was who I was," she said, adding, “I’m not a victim of anyone. Working for Fox at the time, that was my job. I did my job from the place I was at. Stacey now would never work at Fox, would never work for a news network or be a news contributor.”

Besides saying that being a Trump supporter put her "in some kind of box that I don't belong in," Dash made a point of insisting that she is "not a feminist" and still opposes abortion. Dash plays Mildred Jefferson, a physician who was once president of the National Right to Life Committee, in the new film Roe v. Wade about the precedential Supreme Court case.
