Beth Chapman has been admitted to Queen’s Medical Center and is in a medically induced coma in the hospital’s intensive care unit, her husband Duane “Dog” Chapman said.

According to a statement late Saturday night from the Chapmans’ publicist, only “immediate family” are being allowed access to the reality television star at this time, with the family asking the general public to “please pray for Beth” while also sending “sincere thanks to everyone for their prayers throughout Beth’s battle with cancer.”

Beth Chapman, 51, was first diagnosed with lung cancer in September 2017, and said in November that the cancer had returned despite surgery to remove it.

In April, she was hospitalized “due to an accumulation of fluid in her lungs” and underwent a procedure to relieve pressure that had built up, according to her family.

The Chapmans first starred in the reality TV series “Dog the Bounty Hunter,” and most recently appeared together in “Dog & Beth: On the Hunt,” both of which were filmed throughout Hawaii, including the couple’s Da Kine Bail Bonds office on Queen Emma Street. That office, along with a storefront for the Dog the Bounty Hunter shop, shut down at the end of January.

CHICAGO -- Chicago police released their investigative files and video Monday of the alleged staged attack on "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett in late January.

Police released nearly 70 hours of video, all connected to the Smollett case.

Police bodycam video shows officers arriving at Smollett's apartment in Streetervile. After going with his manager up to his apartment, they are greeted by the star with a rope coiled several times around his neck, claiming that two attackers wearing Make America Great Again hats doused him with bleach and put the noose over his head.

Police blurred Smollett's face in the video that the I-Team obtained under a Freedom of Information Act request because at the time he was considered a victim.

"He doesn't want this to be a big deal, you understand what I'm saying," Smollett's manager tells officers on the video. "The thing that makes me emotional is they put this makeshift loop, what do you call that thing, a noose around his (expletive) neck. I'm sorry, you know. And that is what bothers me, the cut thing doesn't bother me at all. If that makes any sense."

Inside the apartment, the video shows Smollett with the rope strung around his neck, which he tells police was put there by his attackers.

Police ask him if he wants to remove the supposed noose, which he does, and then when informed that a police body camera is recording the whole thing, the actor asks that the camera be turned off.

"You're filming this right?" Smollett's manager asks.

"Yes, this is all data," an officer responds. "It's his house."

"They are filming," Smollett's manager tells the actor. "Can we turn it off?"

"Yeah," the officer replies. "You are giving us permission to shut it off?"

Smollett claimed he was the victim of a vicious hate crime in Streeterville in the late hours of January 29. He said two men physically attacked him while yelling racist and homophobic slurs, threw a chemical liquid on him and looped a rope around his neck.

But the investigation turned on the actor as it continued. Chicago police said he orchestrated the attack with the help of the Osundairo brothers, who he knew. One brother was an extra on "Empire" and the other was Smollett's personal trainer.

Police said Ola and Abel OSundairo took a cab to the pre-arranged attack site. In video from the car, the brothers are disguised in hazmat suits that one tightens around his face. They climb out of the taxi and surveillance video shows them walking down the street to carry out the allegedly staged attack.

Two days after the alleged attack, Chicago police released surveillance images of two people they said they considered persons of interest in the attack, which was taken from that video.

Police said Smollett staged the attack at a corner where he believed a surveillance camera would capture the attack, and that the facial injuries he sustained were likely self-inflicted.

Police also released bodycam video of the Osundairo brothers being detained by police at O'Hare International Airport after returning from Nigeria.

But the key scene from the police video is Smollett sporting the rope during his first encounter with officers, while his manager tells police the actor doesn't want this to become a big deal.

Police initially charged Smollett with one count of disorderly conduct for filing a false police report. A grand jury then returned an indictment for 16 counts of disorderly conduct for filing a false police report.

All charges against Smollett were dropped in late February in exchange for community service and forfeiture of his $10,000 bond payment. That decision is already under a separate review by the county's inspector general.

A special prosecutor will soon be appointed to look into why Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx dropped the case and whether Smollett should be re-charged.

    So sad...

Beth Chapman is not expected to recover and leave the hospital, and the family is preparing for the worst ... family sources tell TMZ.

We've learned Beth's mother has flown from the mainland to Hawaii to be by her daughter's side. Her children and grandchildren -- many of whom live in Hawaii -- are also gathering at Beth's bedside.

As we reported, Beth has been waging a difficult war against stage 4 lung cancer. She was hospitalized Saturday after experiencing difficulty breathing as well as choking. She was placed in a medically-induced coma.

Family sources say there's not a lot that can be done for Beth and at this point, and the family is making medical decisions with the help of her doctors.

    Editor’s Note/Correction:

In the days after Jussie Smollett said he was the victim of a racially motivated attack, there was a spike in interest in his story.

    ADVERTISING

Earlier this week, the Chicago Police Department released thousands of investigative files related to the case. Among the documents is an extensive online search history with a hand written note on top of several pages.

The notation was made by a member of the Chicago Police Department and reads “Smollett Search.”

The search history reveals “Jussie Smollett” was searched more than 50 times in the days following the reported attack. CBS 2 initially reported that Smollett searched himself. However, after questions were raised by Smollett’s attorney, we have verified that the search results are from one of the Osundairo brothers.

On January 29 Chicago police opened a hate crime investigation after Smollett said he was attacked near his Chicago apartment. According to police, Smollett said two men approached him around 2 a.m., shouted “racial and homophobic slurs,” poured an “unknown chemical substance” on him and wrapped a noose around his neck.

Police later said that Smollett staged the attack with two brothers, Ola and Abel Osundairo, and charged him with filing a false police report. Those charges were later dropped by Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx.

On Monday, video for the first time showed Smollett with a noose around his neck as police entered Smollett’s downtown apartment. He is seen in a red and white sweater with the rope around his neck. He told investigators he kept the rope there to show them evidence of a racially motivated attack.

As the officers arrive, Smollett removes the rope and says, “There’s bleach on me.” A few seconds later he asks police to turn off the body cam.

Chicago police also obtained text messages between the brothers and Smollett, including one that apparently ignited the plan.

“Might need your help on the low,” Smollett texted. “You around to meet up and talk face to face?”

After the attack, Abel Osundairo texted Smollett, expressing sympathy as news began to spread

“Bruh say it ain’t true. I’m praying for a speedy recovery. Sh** is wild.”

    SANTO DOMINGO, Distrito Nacional —
The alleged mastermind of the attack in which former Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz was shot is now in custody in the Dominican Republic, police said.

Police announced Friday that Victor Hugo Gomez Vazquez was arrested in the capital city of Santo Domingo.

Authorities said they expected to release more details later in the day.

Vazquez is tied to Mexico's Gulf Cartel and is wanted in the United States on federal charges, including heroin and cocaine possession in an unrelated case in Texas.

The U.S. Justice Department says the cartel smuggles cocaine, heroin, marijuana and methamphetamine into the United States across the Texas border.

Dominican officials said he ordered the shooting of his cousin, Sixto David Fern?ndez, because he believed he ratted on him to local authorities in a 2011 drug case that led to his imprisonment.

As Ortiz recovers in a Boston hospital, officials say he was the victim not of a bizarre plot against a beloved sports figure but of a string of incompetent criminal mishaps that included misidentifying the most famous Dominican in the world, an instantly recognizable 6-foot-3 inch, 250-pound international celebrity.

    Steven Senne
Alberto Rodr?guez Mota had one job: taking a photo of the man whom his crew of hired killers was supposed to fatally shoot at an outdoor cafe, according to Dominican authorities.

But the lighting was bad. And the target, an auto-shop owner, was sitting behind a white beverage cooler. In the photo sent to the hit man, he looked like a dark, blurry figure in white pants, the Dominican police chief and attorney general said.

Hours later, on the evening of June 9, the hit man approached a hulking figure in a dark top and white pants and fired a single shot into his back. Instead of killing his intended target, he had wounded Ortiz, the baseball superstar almost universally adored in his native Dominican Republic and in much of the sports-loving world.

"It's like they left this in the hands of boys," said Daniel Pou, an independent consultant on public security. "Without a doubt, it was amateurish."

    Play Video
According to the official account, Mota sat down by himself at the bar in Santo Domingo, ordered a beer and waited. When night fell, he got up, phone in hand, and moved out of view in a video that authorities shared with reporters. That's when officials say he took the blurry picture of Sixto David Fern?ndez, who arrived about two hours before the shooting and requested a table so he could accommodate friends, including Ortiz, who would soon join him.

As Fern?ndez waited, Rodr?guez sat back down and sent the picture to a low-level drug dealer nicknamed Chuky who was sitting in an overcrowded prison more than 60 miles away. Once Chuky — whose real name is Jos? Eduardo Cipri?n — received the picture on a phone smuggled into the prison, he shared it with his top outside contact, Gabriel P?rez Vizca?no, aka Bone, who then showed it to a small group of mostly young, skinny, tattooed alleged hit men just minutes before the shooting, authorities said.

The picture of Fern?ndez shows him in a black T-shirt sitting at a table with the white cooler blocking the view of his legs. Authorities say the suspects mistakenly assumed he was wearing white pants as they gathered at a nearby gas station. By that time, Ortiz had arrived and taken a seat with his back to the street. He was wearing a black T-shirt, white pants and thick gold jewelry.

Shortly afterward, authorities said, the suspected hit man, Rolfy Ferreyra, approached Ortiz from behind, fired and then fled on a motorcycle allegedly driven by Eddy Feliz Garc?a. Minutes later, the driver skidded and fell off his bike and was accosted by fans, according to documents obtained by The Associated Press.

    Rolfy Ferreyra Cruz
    Rolfy Ferreyra
In the hours that followed, the suspects' demands for payment were refused because they shot the wrong person, according to national police director, Maj. Gen. Ney Aldrin Bautista Almonte.

"No, you guys made a mess out of this," he said the suspects were told.

In response, the suspects kidnapped P?rez, Chuky's contact outside of prison. They did not release him until Chuky gave them 50,000 Dominican pesos, roughly $1,000.

Officials did not say when P?rez was kidnapped, but they noted in documents obtained by the AP that a day after the shooting, he tried to get rid of evidence by selling the iPhone 6 used in the attack. Authorities also recovered the gun, which had been buried in the garden of one of the suspect's home. His mother turned it in, according to court documents.

Within three days of the shooting, authorities had detained 10 suspects, all of whom have been ordered to spend one year in preventive prison as the investigation continues.

"They made a lot of mistakes," Francisco Dom?nguez Brito, a former attorney general, said. "This was basically improvised."

A former NFL quarterback was shot in North Carolina on Monday after an altercation with his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend, the Concord (N.C.) Police Department said in a news release.

Anthony Wright, who started 19 games with the Baltimore Ravens and Dallas Cowboys over parts of four seasons, suffered multiple gunshot wounds during the incident and was rushed into emergency surgery at a local hospital, according to police. He was in stable condition as of late Monday afternoon.

Police said the incident started with a "verbal altercation" in Concord, North Carolina — a small city north of Charlotte. According to the news release from police, Wright began arguing with his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend when the man was dropping off his daughter and shots were fired.

The Concord Police Department said in the news release that it has issued a warrant for the arrest of William Moses Hooker Jr. Hooker faces a charge of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill.

Wright, 43, last played in the NFL in 2007. A South Carolina product, he completed 54.9% of his passes as a pro with four different teams. He was a backup quarterback on the New York Giants team that won a Super Bowl title in 2007.

Here is more. Willie Moses the accused shooter is now identified as a fugitive over the Anthony Wright shooting.

Former University of South Carolina quarterback Anthony Wright was shot multiple times in a domestic dispute in North Carolina and remains in stable condition at a hospital near Charlotte, police say.

Concord police say they responded at 12:40 a.m Monday to a “report of gun shots in the area of 1212 Middlecrest Drive,” according to a press release.

“Officers arrived on scene to find Anthony Wright with multiple gunshots wounds,” police said in the release. “Wright was transported to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte where he was rushed into emergency surgery. Currently he is in stable condition.”

His wounds were not considered life threatening, police officials told The Charlotte Observer.

Investigators credited witnesses with saying Wright “got into a verbal altercation” with a man who shares a daughter with Wright’s current girlfriend.

“This altercation began when the ‘ex’ showed up to drop off his daughter. An argument ensued and shots were fired,” police said in a release.

The Concord Police Department said it has issued a warrant on William “Willie” Moses Hooker Jr. for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill.

Wright came to Columbia as a SuperPrep All-American out of West Craven High School in Vanceboro, North Carolina. He joined the Gamecocks in 1995, backing up Steve Taneyhill. Wright ascended to the role of starter the next year, throwing for 1,850 yards, eight touchdowns and six interceptions while leading the team to a 6-5 record.

He threw for 18 touchdowns, five interceptions and 1,685 yards as a junior, despite missing the final two games of the season with a knee injury. Wright split time with Phil Petty his senior season, as the Gamecocks fell to 1-10. Wright finished his career as the No. 3 passer in program history with 5,641 yards and 38 touchdowns.

He is currently eighth all-time in both categories. He went undrafted, but managed to carve out a decade-long NFL career, mostly as a backup quarterback. He played in 31 games with 19 starts for the Dallas Cowboys, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and New York Giants.

He helped lead the 2003 Ravens to the playoffs, going 5-2 as a starter down the stretch, and was the third-string QB for the 2007 Giants Super Bowl team. That was his last non-preseason game, as an injury ended his career the next season. As of 2016, he was training young players in the Charlotte area.

Correction the suspect name is Willie Moses Hooker.

BALTIMORE, MD — Former Baltimore Ravens quarterback Anthony Wright, 43, was shot multiple times at his girlfriend's house in Concord, North Carolina, July 1 by the woman's ex-boyfriend, authorities say. The Concord Police Department responded to a call for shots fired at 1212 Middlecrest Drive Northwest at 12:49 p.m.

Witnesses told police that Wright and the girlfriend's ex-boyfriend, William "Willie" Moses Hooker Jr., had argued while Hooker was dropping off his daughter. The argument escalated and shots were fired, police reported.

According to WJZ, Wright was rushed into surgery and listed in stable condition afterward. Police issued an arrest warrant for Hooker, who faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill.

NBC Sports reported that Wright launched his football career at South Carolina in 1995, then was drafted by the NFL and played for the Dallas Cowboys, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and New York Giants, earning a Super Bowl ring with the Giants in 2008.

Anyone with information on Hooker's whereabouts should call the police at 704-920-5000. According to the Independent Tribune, Hooker stands 5'11" and weighs about 200 pounds.

He was last seen driving a 2015 Honda Accord four-door car with NC Tag #EMD-2568. At the time of the incident Hooker was in possession of a handgun, police say.

BOSTON (CBS) — “The day before he got arrested, the police were chasing him and trying to kill him,” said a relative of Victor Hugo Gomez, the alleged mastermind behind the shooting the injured David Ortiz.

Speaking to WBZ-TV on the condition of anonymity, a member of Gomez’s family said the father of seven is the victim of a set-up.

“He’s a very kind loving person so it’s very hard to see him be framed like this.”

Dominican authorities said the suspected drug trafficker offered to pay $30,000 to have his cousin, Sixto David Fernandez, killed for ratting him out to police. The night of the shooting, Big Papi was sitting near the intended target.

Victor Hugo Gomez. (Image credit: CBS News)

A day before his arrest, Gomez recorded a video proclaiming his innocence. In it, he said he would never hurt anyone, let alone his family, and that he feared for his life.

“Sixto David has already said he has no enemies and I am not his enemy. I want to make clear I had nothing to do with this,” said Gomez in the cell phone recording.

He also had a video made of his arrest to prove he was captured alive and didn’t resist.

The 43-year-old fugitive, who has ties to the U.S, was named in a recent federal indictment as one of 56 suspects linked to a drug ring in South Texas.

“He hadn’t turned himself in because he has no money for a lawyer, just like he doesn’t have money to send that hit for his cousin Sixto David Fernandez,” said the relative.

Fourteen people are now under arrest and linked to a botched murder-for-hire plot that wounded Red Sox legend David Ortiz. Now, as Gomez faces a year of pre-trial detention; his family is pleading authorities dig deeper.

“We feel that he’s an easy target because of his situation in the United States. There’s a person above it, he’s just, that’s the easiest person they could accuse. For the person we feel is behind this, this is not the first time he has done something like this before,” said the relative.

Gomez was one of three suspects captured last week. All 14 suspects will spend a year in prison as prosecutors build a case.

Police say they are still looking for others who may be implicated.

A young man who says Kevin Spacey groped him in a Nantucket bar in 2016 has dropped his lawsuit against the Oscar-winning actor, his lawyer said Friday.

Spacey still faces a criminal charge. He pleaded not guilty to indecent assault and battery in January.

His accuser's lawyer, Mitchell Garabedian, announced in an email that the suit filed June 26 in Nantucket Superior Court has been voluntarily dismissed. No reason was provided either by Garabedian or in the court filing. Garabedian said he would have no further comment. A telephone message was left at his office.

According to the court filing, the suit was dismissed "with prejudice," which means it cannot be refiled.

An email was left Friday requesting comment from Alan Jackson, Spacey's attorney. Jackson has previously said the man is lying in the hopes of winning money in a civil case against Spacey.

The legal development could have significance for the criminal case against Spacey, legal experts say.

The man suspected of shooting former NFL quarterback Anthony Wright has been arrested.

According to WCNC in Charlotte, William Hooker Jr. has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Police claim that Hooker and Wright, who is dating Hooker’s ex-girlfriend, got into an argument, leading to the shooting. Released on $150,000 bond, Hooker will make his first court appearance on July 8.

Wright played for the Steelers, Cowboys, Ravens, Bengals, and Giants in a career that spanned 1999 through 2007. He started 19 games (five for the Cowboys and 14 for the Ravens), and he won a Super Bowl ring in 2007, as one of the backups to Eli Manning, along with the late Jared Lorenzen.

Channing Tatum obtained a restraining order earlier this week against a woman who allegedly broke into his unoccupied home and lived there for nearly two weeks before she was discovered.

The 39-year-old actor filed for a temporary restraining and civil harassment order against an unnamed 36-year-old woman on Tuesday, Page Six reports. Tatum claimed that the woman, also a California resident, broke into his empty home, in a gated community, and lived there for 10 days, before she was found and arrested on June 24.

The Hollywood home was vacant at the time, according to The Blast. The actor’s assistant discovered the woman squatting there and placed her under citizen’s arrest until authorities arrived. However, when questioned about her alleged actions, the woman reportedly claimed that she was an invited guest of Tatum.

The unnamed woman has reportedly had brushes with Tatum in the past. She allegedly showed up at his house without warning in November and stayed outside for five hours, according to Page Six. She returned to the property again a few days later and left behind a letter for the actor; in it, she allegedly accused Tatum — whom she claimed to have met 10 years ago — of watching her, according to The Blast.

Tatum does not know the woman, the outlet reports, citing anonymous sources.

In a written statement to the court, Tatum described the incidents as both "very alarming” and “very annoying," and explained that he felt threatened by the woman, according to Page Six.

“To know that a complete stranger, who last year came to my home uninvited and unannounced, recently broke into my home and pretended to be staying there causes me significant concern for the safety of my family and myself, as well as emotional distress,” his statement reads, in part.

Tatum requested that the order of protection apply to himself, his personal assistant, his estranged wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, their 6-year-old daughter Everly and his wife’s personal assistant, the outlet reports. A judge granted the temporary order for the former couple and their child, but did not extend it to the personal assistants, pending the results of a July 23 hearing.

Vin Diesel's stunt double has been placed in an induced coma after plunging 30ft onto his head on the set of Fast and Furious 9

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ting-life.html

Sources have told MailOnline stunt performer Joe Watts was injured on the film set at the Warner Bros Studios in Leavesden, Hertfordshire yesterday afternoon.

Vin Diesel was said to be 'choking back tears' after witnessing Mr Watts fall on his head as he performed a stunt in the movie star's place.

Mr Watts' fianc?e Tilly Powell, who is also a stunt performer, told friends her 'heart is shattered' and that he was in an induced coma after suffering a serious head injury.

Writing on social media, she assured friends he was 'stable and being monitored closely throughout the night'.

Ms Powell added: 'I love him so much. He has all his friends and family by his side to get him through this.'

Ms Powell was working on 'The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard' on another location in London when she learned about her partner's accident - and friends say she 'knew the risks he faced' in the job.

Filming on the ninth installment of the franchise was halted after a safety cable reportedly snapped as Mr Watts jumped off a balcony on set and hit the ground.

Mr Watts is a British stuntman who has worked on a series of Hollywood blockbusters, including Kingsman Golden Circle, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Spider Man Far From Home.

He has also performed stunts in Game of Thrones, Johnny English Strikes Again, Mission: Impossible - Fallout, Jurassic World and The Hitman's Bodyguard.

Ms Powell is at the bedside of her fianc?, along with her father Greg Powell.

She and her father were working together on another film on location in London when told about the accident and was escorted by police to the Royal London Hospital, where Mr Watts was airlifted to.

Stuntman's school is 'saddened' by accident
Joe Watts is a teacher at The Creative Academy as well as a professional stunt performer.

A statement from the not-for-profit academy, managed by Slough Borough Council, said: 'Staff and students from The Creative Academy at Slough Borough Council were saddened to hear of Joe's accident.

'We hope he makes a speedy recovery and send our best wishes to Joe and his family.'

A family member told Mail Online: 'Tilly is absolutely devastated but she has known the risks that were always involved.

'She grew up with a father who was a stuntman and has followed the same career.

'She knew that they always faced risks on any dangerous stunt.

'Tilly is at the hospital with Joe and like everyone else just praying that Joe will pull through.'

The couple, who have been dating for four years, are understood to be set to get married next year.

'Joe is one of the nicest men you could meet. Everyone in the family loves him and he is devoted to Tilly,' said the family member.

Ms Powell was working with her father on the latest Ryan Reynolds film 'The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard' where he is a second unit director and stunt co-ordinator.

The blockbuster also stars Samuel L Jackson, Morgan Freeman and Salma Hayek and is the sequel to the 2017 hit 'The Hitman's Bodyguard.'

Her father has previously worked on the James Bond blockbuster 'Skyfall' and the 2006 Fast and Furious movie.

David Ortiz said he is back home and thanked everyone for their prayers in his first comments since being shot in the Dominican Republic. Ortiz, who was released from the hospital over the weekend, posted an update on Instagram Monday morning.

Later Monday afternoon, Ortiz issued a lengthy statement through a spokesperson.

"David Ortiz left Mass General Hospital this past Friday as he continues his recuperation from the injuries he suffered from a shooting in Santo Domingo on June 9, 2019.
Along with his wife, Tiffany, and his children, David wishes to offer his thanks and gratitude to Dr. Jose Abel Gonzalez and the medical team at the Center for Advanced Medicine in Santo Domingo, Dr. Larry Ronan and Dr. David King as well as all the doctors, nurses, and caregivers at Mass General. David commented, 'They are some of the best teammates I have ever had.'
David wanted to acknowledge the prayers and good wishes from the Dominican Republic and Red Sox Nation. He also mentioned his gratitude to the Red Sox ownership, stating 'My deep appreciation goes to John and Linda Henry, Tom Werner, Sam Kennedy and the entire Red Sox organization for providing the Red Sox plane that took me back to Boston from Santo Domingo and their continuing assistance to me and my family.'
David gave special thanks to Pam Kenn of the Red Sox 'For the help and support she gave Tiffany in providing the media updates on my medical condition.' And Tiffany Ortiz expressed her appreciation and gratitude to Phil Morse, Vice Chairman of the Board of the Red Sox, 'For his special acts of kindness and concern during a difficult time for me and my family.'
David plans to spend the next several weeks focusing on his recovery. David said, 'I am feeling good, but know I need to do my rehab just like I did when I was recovering from injuries playing baseball.'
While he is asking for privacy for the time being, David stated, 'Big Papi will be back soon.'"
In his Instagram post, he also lamented the fact that he still can't eat solid foods 50 days after the shooting. That presumably didn't stop him from grilling a steak, which was the photo in the post.

Ortiz was shot in the back last June in his hometown of Santo Domingo, the Dominican capital. He has had three surgeries — one the night of the shooting in the Dominican and two in Massachusetts General Hospital — and had parts of organs removed.

Dominican authorities have said the shooting was a case of mistaken identity, with the gunman meaning to shoot a friend of Ortiz's who was wearing similar clothing.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Nearly a month after he was arrested in Sweden, rapper A$AP Rocky returned to the United States as the verdict in an assault case against him and two other Americans looms.

Los Angeles television stations reported the 30-year-old artist was among a group of people shown emerging from a private airplane at Los Angeles International Airport in footage broadcast late Friday night. The rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, had flown out of Stockholm Arlanda Airport on Friday, the same day the trio learned they would be released while judges mull a verdict that’s expected Aug. 14.

Along with David Rispers Jr. and Bladimir Corniel, the rapper is accused of beating 19-year-old Mustafa Jafari on June 30 outside a fast-food restaurant in central Stockholm. Mayers, who had been jailed since his July 3 arrest, pleaded not guilty at the start of the three-day trial Tuesday.

The case has attracted the attention of prominent figures, from Justin Bieber to President Donald Trump. Trump, who caused a stir in U.S.-Swedish diplomatic relations after publicly offering support to the Grammy-nominated artist, celebrated the temporary release.

“It was a Rocky Week, get home ASAP A$AP!” the U.S. president said in a tweet.

Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven heard an appeal from Trump in July, but said he couldn’t interfere in a legal case.

During the final day of the trial Friday, one of the witnesses to the assault revised her story from initial police reports that she didn’t actually see Mayers hit Jafari with a bottle — a key focus of the case. She and a friend, testifying anonymously at Stockholm District Court, both maintained that they did see Mayers and his partners assaulting Jafari, though.

“Everything happened very quickly. We were scared for our lives,” the first woman told the court in Swedish. “He (Jafari) was bleeding. He showed his injuries on his hand. He also said he had a sore back.”

Mayers said he acted in self-defense when Jafari and another man would not leave them alone. Mayers’ bodyguard, Timothy Leon Williams, also testified Friday, sharing a story similar to what the rapper told the courtroom when he took the stand earlier in the week.

Williams said he asked Jafari to “go away” when he approached the group a second time outside the restaurant.

“I knew something’s not right about him. I’m noticing it because I’m a bodyguard,” Williams said in English. “And now, I’m looking at him like, ‘Yo, what’s wrong with you?’ I’m looking at him and saw that his eyes were really glossy, like he’s on something.”

Mayers had also testified earlier this week that he suspected Jafari and his friend were under the influence of some drug, which officials have not yet commented on.

After learning they would be released, the three suspects shared hugs as some of the public gathered inside the courthouse loudly cheered. Mayers’ mother, Renee Black, was present throughout court proceedings and was with her son when he was released.

The rapper shared an emotional post on Instagram after he was released, thanking his fans for their support during this “very difficult and humbling experience.”

Olivia Newton-John looks at every day as a "gift."

During an interview with "60 Minutes Australia," Newton-John revealed that she chooses not to focus on how much time doctors say she has left amid her battle with stage 4 breast cancer.

"When you're given a cancer diagnosis or a scary honest diagnosis, you're suddenly given a possibility of a time limit," the singer/actress said during the interview, published Sunday.

She continued: "If somebody tells you, you have six months to live, very possibly you will because you believe that. So for me, psychologically, it's better not to have any idea of what they expect, or what the last person that has what you have lived, so I don't tune in."

Newton-John, 70, is battling cancer for the third time. In 1992, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. After a car accident in 2013, doctors found cancer in her shoulder. Last year, the "Physical" songstress revealed she has cancer on her back, with a tumor at the base of her spine.

The "Grease" star said she's a "long way away" from dying, despite reports earlier this year that claimed she was on her deathbed and "clinging to life."

Kiefer Sutherland suffered a serious injury that has caused him to cancel the remaining three stops on his European tour, the actor and singer announced on social media.

Sutherland said in an Instagram post on Thursday that he slipped on the steps of his tour bus, injuring a rib, "making it difficult to breathe and impossible to sing."

The accident occurred while traveling to Denmark, Sutherland said.

Sutherland had been on tour in Europe in support of his record "Reckless & Me." The three shows that were canceled were scheduled to take place in Denmark and Sweden.
The plan, Sutherland said, was to make up the missed shows in September and October when he returns to Europe.
I didn't even know he sang.

Eddie Money announced Saturday he has stage 4 esophageal cancer in a preview clip of his reality show "Real Money."

"I thought I was just going in to get a checkup, and he told me I got cancer," the 70-year-old Money said. He was diagnosed last fall while taping the second season of his show, according to AXS TV where the show airs.

Money said the diagnosis hit him hard, but he didn't want to hide it.

"It's not honest, I wanna be honest with everybody. I want people to know that cancer's come a long way and not everybody dies from cancer like they did in the 50s and 60s," he said.

"Am I gonna live a long time? Who knows, it's in God's hands," Money said. "But you know what? I'll take every day I can get. Every day above ground is a good day."

Ron from Jersey Shore had a Ronpage: https://www.tmz.com/2019/10/05/ronni...ecurity-video/

I thought Jen was the aggressor but I guess not.

I get the feeling both are volatile and them being together is just crazy. I watch Jersey Shore: Family Vacation (I don't care, Pauly cracks me up) and it annoys the crap out of me that Ron doesn't listen to anyone when they tell him to leave jen for good.

I watch the reunion show too. I thought it was clear last episode that Ronnie was done with Jen.

I thought it was pretty fucked up that Jwow invited jen to the strip club. I loved how Angelina turned the tables on her when she tried to throw her under the bus in front of Ron.

Pauly is funny, Deena is my favorite though.

When Ron claimed to have been jumped by some dude, I was cracking up when Pauly was talking to Deena about it. She said something and he goes "What, you said Jen did it?" and she says no and immediately he goes "oh, I thought you said Jen did it" and she says no and again he goes, "oh I thought you said Jen did it." I was dying laughing.

And when Pauly was riding through the casino in the wheelchair, so funny.

I feel like Ron and Jen will always get back together, until one kills the other. Seriously, I have never seen a couple so fucking toxic, it's unreal.

That was great I think Vinny is pretty funny too.

It just popped into my news feed that the police are placing an emergency protective order for Ron to stay away from Jen. It’s only going to last to the 11th. Ron is now saying he didn’t chase her with a knife, he was just trying to protect Ariana from her. Who knows what happened. She said he was on coke, but I didn’t see any drug charges.

He always struck me as a cokehead.

I saw surveillance video on TMZ where they say Jen looks "terrified" but she doesn't look it to me at all. Looks confused.
