Its Holdoms sisters house AT Charnwood act, sounds like he took women ( girls there ) over the years. i was curious to this too. leisl smith disappeared 20min from where DH was living in 2012 blue Bay. she looks similar to Karlies older photo. guess there could even be a link there. Toni did say she found 2 phones under his seat? Holdom seems to be quite a creep so nothing would suprise me about him. Just hope they've got enough for a conviction.

Well we know he was definitely there at points in 2008 -

Laura Howarth disappeared in 2008. I used to go back to her missing pages a lot before we knew Belanglo Angel was Karlie. Not sure if he was there in January though.

Someone mentioned this case on SApol's fb page in relation to Karlie & Khandalyce. It does have a few similarities due to the Adelaide suburbs, Centrelink benefits & remains that were moved from the place they were first hidden & then kept in a bag after they'd become skeletal

    http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/m...-1226776540581

THE mystery skeletal remains found in a Terowie house belong to former resident Martin Craig Meffert, who vanished almost nine years ago.

Major Crime detectives have revealed he was last seen in February, 2005, when he caught a bus in Adelaide to return to the Mid-North town. He was then aged 23.

MORE: MAN CHARGED AFTER FAILING TO REPORT DEATH

His death is being investigated as a murder following the discovery of his partial skeletal remains in a bag inside the Terowie house on October 24.

Major Crime Investigation Section officer-in-charge Detective Superintendent Des Bray last night said investigations had revealed his remains had been exhumed after being buried for an unknown time.

Describing the discovery as a "bizarre sequence of events'', he said that after being dug up by an unknown person, they had been stored in a shed on a property in Packer St, Terowie, before being moved into the house.

The skeletal remains have been identified as Martin Craig Meffert.
When local police visited the home on a routine firearms inquiry on October 24, the remains were found in a bag in the home's fireplace. No attempt had been made to conceal them.

It is believed they were previously buried at another location. Extensive excavations in the backyard of the Packer St property have failed to find any evidence to assist the investigation.

Police have charged the occupant of the house, Christopher Travis Scott, 25, with failing to report a death. Scott is one of Mr Meffert's cousins.

Police say Scott is a suspect in the murder investigation, along with a number of other people.

He has been released on bail after appearing in Port Pirie Magistrates Court.

Scott was initially refused bail after detectives expressed fears he may interfere with possible crime scenes and witnesses.

At the time of the discovery, shocked locals said they were disturbed that a murder may have been committed in their small community and that human remains had been stored in such a manner.

The remains were identified following extensive forensic examinations, dental records and DNA profiling.

Det. Supt. Bray declined to comment on the possible cause of Mr Meffert's death or the nature of any injuries identified through analysis of the skeletal remains.

"The man currently charged in connection with the bones has failed to provide police with any explanation as to how he came into possession of the bones,'' he said.

"We have extensively searched the home and the yard of the property but have not as yet turned up any additional evidence.

"We hope that now the identity has been made public, it may jog people's memories and they will come forward with valuable information."

He said investigations had so far revealed while Mr Meffert had lived in Terowie at the time of his murder, he was known to frequent Peterborough and Jamestown.

He spent his early years living at Kadina, on Yorke Peninsula, with his parents.

In 1998, they moved to Adelaide and lived at several addresses in the western suburbs before his parents separated.

Mr Meffert moved to Terowie to stay with an aunt and cousins in 2004 after his mother passed away.

He was not reported as a missing person because he had lost contact with the immediate members of his family after moving to Terowie.

Suffering from an undisclosed health issues, he was on a disability support pension and was receiving intermittent health care associated with them. He last accessed that health care in Adelaide in February 2005.

Detectives believe he was killed in Terowie shortly after returning to Adelaide, following that treatment.

Police want anyone with information about Mr Meffert's murder, or anyone who may have had contact with Mr Meffert since 2004 to contact them, via phone, texts or through social media.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000

Daniel James Holdom has been arrested over the murder of Khandalyce Pearce in 2008, whose remains were found in a suitcase on the side of a South Australia highway this year.

Holdom has been taken from Silverwater Jail to Parramatta Police Station to be questioned over the murder of Khandalyce, where he is expected to be charged with the girl's murder.

He has already been charged with the alleged murder of Khandalyce's mother, Karlie Pearce-Stevenson, whose remains were found in the Belanglo State Forrest in 2008.

Last month, police investigating the murder of two-year-old Khandalyce reportedly found her birth certificate inside a home connected to her mother's accused killer.

Police alleged they found the document during a search of Daniel Holdom's sister's house last month.

Police allegedly received information that Holdom took two suitcases to his sister's house containing Karlie's possessions.

I'm kind of shocked they let everyone know he's at Parramatta. I wouldn't be surprised to see screaming mobs in this case & Parramatta's nice & close to screaming mob territory compared to the north coast.

He's lucky it's December - it'll probably be too hot for people to hang around in the sun outside the cop shop screaming abuse & swinging nooses - plus the initial frenzy seems to have died down (then again, I haven't checked WS for ages so that might be an incorrect assumption on my part).

Either way, it's good to see this has progressed. I have to admit that I was starting to worry this might end up one of cthose cases where they're pretty sure they know what happened, but they don't have enough for actual charges. I was really concerned their family & friends might only ever get to see Karlie's murder prosecuted, so yeah, this is good news.

He has been charged with both murders.

Daniel Holdom has been charged with the murder of Khandalyce Pearce, with police alleging that he killed the toddler in NSW days after allegedly murdering her mother Karlie Pearce-Stevenson.

Holdom, 41, was charged with Ms Pearce-Stevenson?s murder in October, and police confirmed earlier today that he had again been taken into custody over the case.

He has since been charged with the murder of Khandalyce, whose body was found in a suitcase beside a highway in the South Australian town of Wynarka in July this year.

?Earlier this morning, police from the homicide squad arrested the 41-year-old man at Parramatta Police Station,? NSW Police Force Homicide Squad Commander Michael Willing said.

?He has since been charged with the murder of Khandalyce.

?It is our belief that Khandalyce was murdered here in NSW, shortly after the murder of Karlie.

Holdom is expected to appear at Parramatta Local Court this afternoon.*

Commander Willing refused to comment on the pair?s causes of death, only specifying that they were ?violent?.

?All I can say is both Karlie and Khandalyce died violent deaths?. all of that detail will come out in court,? he said.

The mother and daughter disappeared in November 2008, and Ms Pearce-Stevenson?s body was found in NSW?s Belanglo State Forest almost two years later, in late 2010.

However, investigators failed to identify her in the five years before Khandalyce?s remains were found.

The discovery of Khandalyce?s body led police to formally identify the pair and confirm their relationship, seven years after they were last seen.

The police investigation also found that Ms Pearce-Stevenson?s phone and bank accounts remained active after her death, with her Centrelink benefits claimed for a number of years after she was killed.

Commander Willing also renewed an appeal for information about the pair?s murder, urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Today's murder charge comes days after the mother and daughter were laid to rest at a*private funeral in their hometown*of Alice Springs.

Uggh. He had Khandalyce alone with him from the moment he killed her Mum. That poor, poor little girl

    http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/new...6e8d6b4b40c276

MURDERED two-year-old Khandalyce Stevenson was seen by witnesses with a man several days after he had allegedly killed her mother in the Belangalo Forest.

Police will allege Daniel James Holdom killed Karlie Pearce-Stevenson, 20, sometime around December 15 in 2008 before driving to Canberra with her daughter.

It’s then alleged Holdom killed Khandalyce while on the way to South Australia in the vicinity of the small NSW town of Wallaroo some time between 2.17am on December 19 and 12.52am on December 20. Police have not released how or exactly where she died.

The remains of mother and daughter were found five years and thousands of kilometres apart and the two crimes have only recently been linked by police.

Holdom, 41, was yesterday formally charged with the murder of the little girl whose remains were found in a suitcase dumped on the side of a South Australian highway near Wynarka, east of Adelaide, in July this year.

He had already been charged in October with killing her mother whose skeleton was discovered by trail bike riders in the Belanglo State Forest in 2010.

Is there any more news? I've been following this case since the child's clothes and remains were found in SA, later identified as little Khandalyce. I drive past Wallaroo in NSW regularly and wonder what on earth happened to a two year old with DM there, although I don't like the idea the tragic circumstances really scream out to be understood. I'd love to lay flowers at the site, but where? Along Barton Highway or Wallaroo Road? Near the nearby waterfall? Who is Holdoms sister? Makes me sick knowing their belongings were at their house for so long, squirrelled away. What were they going to do with Khandalyces birth certificate? Two vulnerable young lives stolen by predators. Just heart breaking.

Wow, it seems Toni has at least 8 facebook accounts. One still chronicles her relationship with DM. Seems the Blundell family is big in Canberra with links to Gold Coast and NSW mid coast. I wouldn't be surprised if they had fingers in many pies.

*So this case has always hit me hard, it is the reason i found this place and joined. For the past month almost daily i have checked for updates as he was due in court the beginning of the month. I just almost jumped with excitment when i seen a quick news ad flash up on the tv with their faces. Finally starting to hear some more!

Daniel James Holdom pleads guilty to murders of Karlie Pearce-Stevenson and daughter Khandalyce

    By court reporter Jamelle Wells
    Updated about 2 hours ago

    Key points:

? Karlie Pearce-Stevenson's remains were found in Belanglo State forest in 2010

? Her daughter Khandalyce's body was placed in a suitcase and left beside a South Australian highway

? Daniel James Holdom was days away from facing a murder trial

Daniel James Holdom, 43, entered guilty pleas to two counts of murder in the NSW Supreme Court just days before his trial was due to start.

Police say Holdom murdered his former girlfriend Karlie Pearce-Stevenson, stomping on her throat and leaving her body in the Belanglo State Forest in 2008.

Her remains were found in 2010 and police used DNA to identify them years later.

Police say Holdom also murdered Ms Pearce-Stevenson's two-year-old daughter Khandalyce after telling relatives he was driving her to her grandmother's house.

The child's remains were put in a suitcase, which was found on a remote highway near Wynarka in South Australia in July, 2015 ? more than 1,100 kilometres from the Belanglo Forest where her mother was found.

Holdom was charged with the murders that year following a police investigation in two states.

PHOTO: Daniel James Holdom has pleaded guilty to murdering Karlie Pearce-Stevenson and her daughter. (ABC News)

The mother and daughter were originally from Alice Springs.

Police say Karlie was murdered some time between December 14 and 15 in 2008.

They say Khandalyce was murdered near Wagga in NSW between December 19 and 20 in 2008.

When Holdom was committed to stand trial last year, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) said there was "an overwhelming combination of circumstantial evidence and direct admissions".

Mobile phone tower records placed Holdom at both crime scenes and he also confessed to two people he knew.

Three days after Ms Pearce-Stevenson left a Canberra property with Holdom, he asked someone he knew to help clean the car before trading it in for another.

The committal hearing was also told police had an SD card from a digital camera belonging to Holdom that contained images of Ms Pearce-Stevenson's body in the forest.

Holdom will face a sentencing hearing in September.

Family believed victims were alive and well

Ms Pearce-Stevenson had not been in regular contact with her family in the lead-up to her death.

The single mother had moved away between 2006 and 2008, intending to travel and work.

PHOTO: NSW Police Detective Inspector Jason Dickinson holds up a photo of Karlie Jade Pearce-Stevenson and Khandalyce Kiara Pearce during a press conference in Sydney on October 21, 2015. (AAP: Dean Lewins)

Her mother cancelled a missing person's report in September 2009 after she was reassured her daughter was safe and well, but did not want family contact.

NSW homicide squad commander Mick Willing previously said Ms Pearce-Stevenson was in "sporadic" contact with her mother, but it became less and less frequent over time until her mother died.

The extended family was under the impression Ms Pearce-Stevenson was living interstate.

A call to Crime Stoppers tipped police off that Khandalyce could be the person police found in the suitcase in 2015.

Murderer Daniel Holdom attempts to withdraw his guilty plea before being jailed for life
    By court reporter Jamelle Wells
    Updated 55 minutes ago

RELATED STORY: Man murdered young mum in Belanglo Forest, then killed her toddler daughter

A man who murdered his ex-girlfriend and her daughter has surprised a Sydney court by attempting a last-minute back-flip on his guilty plea, before a judge jailed him for life.

    Key points:

Daniel Holdom received two life sentences for his crimes

There was applause from the public gallery after the sentence was handed down

The judge described Ms Pearce-Stevenson's murder as a crime of "extreme gravity and appalling depravity"

In July, Daniel Holdom pleaded guilty to murdering 20-year-old Karlie Pearce-Stevenson and her two-year-old daughter Khandalyce.

Ms Pearce-Stevenson's body was found in the Belanglo State Forrest, near Sydney, in 2010 and the toddler's remains were found in a suitcase on a remote highway in South Australia in 2015.

Holdom's lawyer today made a surprise request in the NSW Supreme Court to revoke his guilty plea for killing Khandalyce, saying his client had trouble "digesting" the case against him.

But in rejecting the application, Justice Robert Hulme noted Holdom had an experienced legal team and he was not satisfied the 44-year-old did not understand what he was pleading to.

There was applause from the public gallery when the sentence was handed down.

Justice Hulme said there was evidence Holdom used extreme force against Ms Pearce-Stevenson, stomped on her body, violated it in "a callous and sadistic way" and took trophy photos of it.

"His treatment of her showed complete disdain for her existence as a human being," he said.

"To him, she was just flesh with a life that could be extinguished for his vile pleasure."

Justice Hulme said Holdom had a history of violence towards women and had shown no remorse.

Justice Hulme described Ms Pearce-Stevenson's murder as a crime of "extreme gravity and appalling depravity".

Holdom shook his head in the dock during the judge's remarks.

    'His brutality will haunt us'

Justice Hulme said Holdom used Ms Pearce-Stevenson's bank account after her death and that his new girlfriend claimed the dead woman's social security benefits.

Holdom also used his ex-girlfriend's phone to text her family giving the impression she was alive, and fuelling her relatives' torment and despair at not knowing where she was.

Justice Hulme said Holdom had a difficult childhood with a brutal stepfather who violently abused him from the age of four to 15.

He said Holdom had been unemployed for some time and had a problem with drug use at the time of the murders.

The court heard he had a criminal record in NSW, Queensland and the Northern Territory.

PHOTO: NSW Police detective inspector Jason Dickinson holds a photo of Karlie and Khandalyce. (AAP: Dean Lewins)

Ms Pearce-Stevenson's family released a statement describing Holdom's crimes as "despicable".

"His brutality will haunt us forever," they said.

"Nothing done to him will bring Karlie and Khandalyce back or repay the toll on us.

"Such said, he has forfeited his right to his existence.

"From now until he dies, young women and children must be protected ? their safety must be paramount.

"We can no longer hold and hug Karlie and Khandalyce, but we will never stop loving them."

Outside court, the Commander of the NSW Homicide Squad Scott Cook said the families of Holdom's two victims had suffered enormously.

"They have always conducted themselves with dignity and assisted police," he said.

"I hope today brings some conclusion to the trauma they have been through."
