SEATTLE -- A man who had been on the run from police after allegedly shooting another man in the face at a South Seattle gas station earlier this week made it really easy for police to find him Friday.

He was spotted driving a car with his own name on the license plate!

The shooting happened around 9:10 a.m. Tuesday at a gas station in the 7300 block of Rainier Ave. South. Investigators said the two men got into an argument, and then the 39-year-old suspect pulled out a gun and shot the other man in the face. The gunman then drove off in a silver SUV before officers arrived. The victim was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition where he still remains today.

Investigators later traced the suspect to a home in the 4600 block of South Raymond Street, where a standoff ensued for several hours that afternoon. It turned out, the home was empty, and officers impounded a silver SUV at the location.

Then on Friday, two officers were on patrol in South Seattle where they spotted a car near 48th Avenue S. and S. Rose Street with a vanity license plate matching the last name of the suspected shooter. The officers pulled the vehicle over and took the driver into custody.

Officers say he'll be booked into the King County Jail.
