It was actually a pretty entertaining finale show.
I was flipping it back between this and the Okc/Mavs game.
Yea...American Idol was far more entertaining
The last Idols we had was like 3 or 4 years ago. We do have X-factor right now. This girl is one of the finalists, I love her.
It's just too bad that whoever wins shows like Idols or X-factor over here, they always get kinda forgotten by the big public short after the whole show is over. A few of them were really good. Do you hear a lot from the winners of American Idol or X-factor?

10 former American Idol contestants have filed a lawsuit against the show, and are seeking damages of $25 million dollars each.
EW and TMZ both cite sources claiming that Corey Clark (Season 2, pictured), Jaered Andrews (Season 2), Jacob John Smalley (Season 2), Donnie Williams (Season 3), Terrell Brittenum (Season 5), Derrell Brittenum (Season 5), Thomas Daniels (Season 6), Akron Watson (Season 6), Ju’Not Joyner (Season 8), and Chris Golightly (Season 9) are part of a lawsuit that claims that were mistreated while on the show and unfairly disqualified from the competition, mainly due to their race.

The lawsuit stems from a letter submitted in January by New York City lawyer James H. Freeman on behalf the 10 contestants to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The letter cited ”cruel and inhumane” treatment, claiming that Idol‘s producers have only publicly disqualified 10 contestants in the show’s history, all of whom were black.
Freeman also claimed that the show illegally dredged up arrest records to make the black contestants appear to be “violent criminals, liars and sexual deviants,” further perpetuating “destructive stereotypes.” EW reports that none of the 10 members of the lawsuit were convicted of charges stemming from their arrests.
The claims of racial profiling continue, as Freeman claims that American Idol never probed into white contestants’ criminal histories — purportedly only black contestants were questioned.
Representatives for both American Idol and the plaintiffs have not commented on this story.

I'm bumping the AI thread.
Who's watching?? Come out of hiding.
I like the new judging panel.
I watched the first night but not the second.
I liked the rapport of the new judge panel.
I hope that when the world comes to an end, I can breathe a sigh of relief, because there will be so much to look forward to. - Donnie Darko
God almighty, the contestants this year are pretty fucking horrible. I mean, some in the TOP TWELVE IN THE WHOLE COUNTRY cannot carry a tune in a bucket. It's badddd. I thought I loved these judges, but how did some of these people make it this far unless the judges are stupid?
Yes i love it so much, watched 25th episode on April 3 and now eager to watch it's 26th on April 9 2014.
I watch all those music shows.
On AI, they have that boy Dexter. Not that I am a huge fan, but he sang a song one night called "One Mississippi"
I loved the song so much that I had to look up the org version. I that song.
Here was Dexter

Here's the org version

Which one is better?
I actually kinda liked Dexter singing that song... Obviously the original singer is better technically (probably mostly because it's a recorded version versus live), but Dexter has something in his tone that I like better. I have hated other performances of Dexter's and remember thinking on one night in particular that he was one of the worst live singers I've ever heard, though, so let's not get too crazy here.
Alex Preston is my favorite this season. I love how quirky he is.
Everybody loves Caleb. I think he's incredibly gross. I HATE watching him sing/dance.
I remember him. Mainly because he was australian and good looking. I think that must have been one of the last seasons I watched. I wonder how they knew so quickly what killed him. That would have been one fast autopsy.
I never give 2 craps about the singers on American idol, but last night......my heart melted. I'm not sure why, but I loved Hollywood Anderson.

My husband (away for work) asked me, "Did you watch Idol last night?" I had not. He said, "There was a girl on there with an X tattoo under her eye and a backwards hat who played the piano. You will LOVE her." And I did :)

A former "American Idol" contestant was given a 70-year prison sentence in Elmore County on Wednesday for child pornography charges, WSFA reported.
Brandon Cox was convicted in January on seven counts of possession of child pornography charges and has been in Elmore County Jail ever since. Cox, who is from Wetumpka, starred in the singing competition in 2012, but was let go during the group round of Hollywood week.
During trial, the State Bureau of Investigation showed the jury 275 files found on Cox's computer. Assistant District Attorney Kristy Peoples asked Judge Sibley Reynolds for 10 years per count due to the nature of the photos and videos.
"We are talking about toddlers, sexual penetration, oral sex, and the horrific nature of these photos and the quantity of the photos," Peoples said. "I think that is why the judge did impose the sentence we asked for."
Cox said during trial that he was unaware of what was on his computer because he had only used it to download music. He said he didn't know the children, whose images were downloaded online, authorities said.
Cox tried to maintain his innocence during sentencing.
"His plea today was that he didn't have records to prove certain things like access dates and when he downloaded certain files -- but that wasn't required by the state," Peoples said. "What was required was that he possessed, and we had overwhelming evidence that he possessed child pornography images and videos."
Authorities said Cox will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
