A 38-year-old Los Angeles comedian died of COVID-19 ' two days after posting a video admitting that he initially 'doubted' the seriousness of the virus.

Joe Luna, who performed as Joe El Cholo, posted on Nov. 21 what was supposed to be the first in a series of Instagram videos documenting his coronavirus battle.

'Let me tell you, man, when I would hear people talk about what COVID did to them, I always thought to myself, man, you know what, I doubted it was that bad,' he said in the 35-minute video.

'But no, dude, I'll tell you guys right now I've been put in a fight. I've been fighting for my life for the last, you know, week or so, man. This COVID s't is no joke.'

In the video, the double amputee says that on top of his coronavirus diagnosis, he had pneumonia and was a diabetic.

'I'm dealing with a lot, guys, right now,' he said, adding that he'd just been released from the hospital and was experiencing chest pains.

Luna, whose page says he was born and raised in East LA, said his kids and girlfriend also tested positive for the coronavirus.

'I'm going to show you guys my journey through my good and bad times because it's all about showing my people out there, if you think that COVID is a joke, If you think this won't be you ' then trust me ' it hits everybody differently,' he said.

Luna died on Nov. 23 after being admitted to the hospital when his conditions worsened, Fox Los Angeles reported.

The comic performed at clubs like The Ice House in Pasadena and The Improv Theatre in Hollywood, the network said.

His son, Jose Talavera, said his dad suffered with the bug.

'It was like his lungs were hurting more than we all felt before. All of us were coughing and sneezing,' Talavera, who also tested positive, told Fox.

He added that a show was being put together for his father's funeral because 'he doesn't want anyone crying.'

'He wanted people to be laughing and having fun,' Talavera said.

A GoFundMe page set up for funeral expenses indicates the service will be held on Saturday.

Did he get his limbs amputated before corona?

I don't know, and his website, http://www.joeelcholocomedian.com (linked to his FB) isn't working.
You are talking to a woman who has laughed in the face of death, sneered at doom and chuckled at catastrophe.
