I never had a problem with my hair until I moved to a little hick town with wells and septic systems. When I first moved, I got my hair colored by the guy who had been doing my hair since HS. A week later I went back to him because my hair was orange. I blamed him for the color until I washed a load of white clothes with bleach, and they came out yellow. I found a great hairdresser closer to home until she stopped working Saturdays. My new stylist is great. I slept through my first appointment with her because I had been out all night
that should be fine... i'm seeing a some beauty sites reviewing it as a prier with positive results.
there are violet tinted shampoos that work to tone your hair between colorings, i think.

well, ok! but let's see what happens when i do...... this!
I was typing and realized I was just blabbing, and I hit reply instead of cancel above. Sorry for the babble. I have a legit question though regarding my hair. It is very straight and has no body without highlights. Does Sally's have the type of color that will add body (bleach I think)? I'm leaning towards Ash Blonde and a toner.
i've never heard of anyone using color to add body or texture to their hair. i think i understand what you're saying though. processing changes the hair. i have straight limp flat hair and i've always noticed coloring does help with that to an extent... i would be concerned though that any sizable difference in body due to coloring may mean it's over processed.
it's probably best to sick with coloring for color and look at using body enhancing products. also, have you ever considered having a perm/body wave done? i'm hoping to try that to give me some body, but i'm working with the hair dresser to first grow it to an appropriate length and make sure it's healthy. i'm certainly not using any other type of chemicals on it myself in the meantime. i'm going to leave that to her so she knows my hair.
currently i just use mouse on my roots and blow dry upside down. it helps a lot. i usually do my hair in two pigtails, so i'll do a light teasing underneath to keep it poofy.
ETA - my hair has been chin length or shorter for the last 20 years... this is the first time i'm trying to grow my hair out since i was 12 and cut it in my bathroom, so now that it's just below my shoulders, trying to find ways to give it body is a new challenge for me.
EATA - i stand corrected. i guess it's a normal thing to dye your hair for body.

Yeah, you're right. I'm taking this too far. I just need to worry about the orange for now. It was my understanding that when bleach is used for highlights, the stripping added body. My hair is about the same length as yours now, and I am thinking of cutting right to top of shoulders. It takes forever to blow dry, and even though I do use products for body, nothing works in the humidity. I have so much hair shit in my vanity it's ridiculous. When my layers grow out, there is no styling this hair. I have it up most of the time now trying to hide it. I too was in the bathroom yesterday with scissors. I dread really taking a good look at what I did. I just chopped ends randomly.
i just read this tip that i'm about to go try right now: shampoo, rinse thoroughly, condition the entire head and then before rinsing the conditioner, use a tiny bit of shampoo to lather throughout the roots. this cleans any conditioner buildup from the roots while still allowing you to condition them.
i've been sticking with only conditioning the ends, but i've also heard that conditioning your entire head before you shampoo is a good thing to do for body. conditioner is good for the hair but terrible for body.

starving student here... i'll go an extra step before going an extra dollar any day.
i probably have a different problem than most of you. i have baby hair. or kitty hair. whatever. it's thin and fine. there ain't a lot of it. this is why i've always kept it short... luckily, i'll never have to go through losing it - my grandma has as much thin fine hair as she's ever had and she's 89!
anyways, i'm also blessed with a small headand so now that i've gained weight, i'm trying to grow it longer to hide my chub face. i'm always looking for ways to make it appear fuller. i was using this stuff called nutri-ox when i had a job and it seemed to work really well, but now i can't afford it. so yeah, extra steps for me!
somebody suggested taking biotin pills - again, though money. another person suggested i get knocked up.![]()

prenatal vitamins are supposedly really good for your hair/nails.
i also read in an unknown magazine about conditioning the whole head (vs just the ends) and letting it soak in while you're showering, THEN shampooing.
i should google that. i think i am remembering that correctly.
Dont get me wrong..Im all about the oils. My house looks like an old wizard lives there... marula oil, black seed oil, argan oil, I use oils all of the time..especially on my face and my thyroid scar, I dont break out or anything, and they're just amazing for your skin. I just have issues with cannola oil ...lol. Maybe too much time watching my great grandma cook or something.![]()
Had that problem with the olive oil and my ex. I stumbled upon the Olive oil recently in a cabinet. Just bought the Cannola oil, and the Olive is better. Also recommended is Safflower, but I keep spilling oil on the floor and I'm going to kill myself with this shit. I never use oil anymore in food preparation, shit, I don't cook at all. My Grandmother was always at the stove stirring sauce when I was a kid. Happy memories. The cooking gene skipped me for sure.
Has anyone used argan oil on their face before? I've been look at a josie maran argan oil moisturizer (thats a mouthful) and dont know if i wanna try it. I have super dry face and was hoping it would make it look better for foundation. I use a moisturizer and a primer and my face looks like corn flakes![]()
