Oh, hai! I'm not one of the beauty gurus around here, but I have strong feelings about eyebrows
I use a powder shadow a shade darker than natural, and use an angled brush to fill in sparse areas, emphasize arch, and generally make them more defined.

I do like the sound of that! I have always wanted more defined brows, but since my hair is so light I wasn't sure how to do it. I get paid on Wednesday, so I will get some things to experiment with! Thank you!

Yeah, I can only bleach my roots now, if I do it one more time the ends are going to be all stretchy...
One time I did 7 colors just randomly all over, sadly though I dont have a pic of it! (it was back when I was 18)

Sooooooo... I decided to go ahead and do the stupid bright red again (Ron said he liked it... swoon!). If my boss hates it, I can always change it (unlike the tattoos).

Here's my dilemma: the color (same as last time) is "for dark hair only." When I used it before, I applied it to my un-previously-dyed hair.
This time, my hair is already a dark brown/reddish dyed color. My natural color is dishwater blonde.
The application instructions say to apply to the shaft (heh) first, and process for 20 minutes, then the roots for 10... on virgin (heh heh) hair.
They say to apply to the roots first for 20 minutes, then the shaft for another 10 minutes... for root touch-ups.
My roots are very minimal right now, but I don't want neon red roots, which I'm afraid of since I do not have dark hair naturally. Should I do roots first, shaft first, or just say "fuck it" and apply all over?

I think I would do shaft first, maybe? If your roots are light, it may take the color better than the darker parts, know what I mean? So if you left it on for the same amount of time all over, I think the roots would be really, really colored.

Shaft first, roots later if you don't want hot roots. I have the same issue and that works for me.

Agreed. Also since your scalp area is warmer, it may make the root more prone to having a more vivid color.

I want to try that map nails thing. I know the article said to soak your nails in alcohol for 5 minutes? How could you do this? okac didn't you mention that you could just soak the paper/map in alcohol?

yepper, when i did it with the newspaper i had a little bowl of rubbing alcohol and just dipped it in (sliding it out on the side of the bowl so it wasnt dripping wet)
then held firmly onto the nail making sure it was firmly pressed all over then shabam.
when you do a top coat, which youll need, be VERY careful so it doesnt streak the print.

I'm trying to learn how to french braid my hair. It's coming out terrible each time and my arm is getting tired way too fast. I just want to do a french braid hairband.

How do you guys make sure that each section is equal and tight if you french braid your own hair?

I would also like this info because I suck at french braiding but I love french braid hairbands.

It's not an exact measurement when you're French braiding I'm sorry to say. Just kinda wing it - if you're doing big pieces it's going to fall out fast. Especially if you have layers, use smaller pieces .

As for the French braid hair band...if you're taking in hair on both sides it's going to go all over the place. Take in only on one side - the side with the long hair, toward the back- and that should help. It'll be tighter too. (heh)

I'm still having the damnedest time applying eyeshadow in a cool way. I have good eyeshadows, but my brushes are limited. :/ Anyway, I'm going to try these map/newspaper nails. Love it.
