Police are appealing for help to locate a 13-year-old girl from Baulkham Hills who went missing from her family home on Thursday.*

Melissa, who attends the Hills Sports High School in Seven Hills, left for school at 7.30am on the morning of April 2, but did not attend and has not been seen since.*

Melissa's father became aware that his daughter had not returned home when he finished work for the day.*

He alerted Castle Hill Police of her disappearance and since then he and other family members have been searching for her. *

Melissa's friends were also oblivious to their friend's whereabouts, which has her parents and other relatives worried given her young age and also because it is extremely out of character.*

Police say the 13-year-old is of Caucasian appearance, around 150cm tall with a slim build, long brown hair and brown eyes.*

Melissa was last seen wearing her school attire, with a dark blue skirt and a pale blue blouse.*

Police from The Hills Local Area Command are appealing for anyone with any information about the whereabouts of Melissa or her movements to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.*

It comes as the family of an 11-year-old boy thanked campers for helping to try and locate their autistic son, who has been missing since around 9.30am on Good Friday.*

More than 100 campers, as well as police and SES crews, are searching for Luke Shambrook in Fraser National Park - one of Victoria's vast national parks.*

A FATHER came home to find his teenage daughter missing and now police are seeking the public?s help to find her.

Melissa Borg, 13, was last seen leaving her Baulkham Hills home in her uniform to go to the Hills Sports High School in Seven Hills on Thursday about 7.30am.

The Year 9 student never made it to class and after her father searched for her following work with no sign of her he reported his daughter missing to police.

Friends of the teen, who is described as being about 150cm tall with a slim build, long brown hair and brown eyes, told police they do not know where she is.

Inspector David Hogg said despite that police were hoping the girl was with friends.

?With any 13-year-old that goes missing for this time frame it?s serious but our hope is she?s with some friends and just doesn?t want to contact her family,? Inspector Hogg said.

?If that is the case, whatever issue she has, we?d hope that she?d at least get in contact with police so we can get in contact with her family and let them know she is okay.?

He said there had been an unconfirmed sighting of her in the Merrylands area but with no further information police were unable to perform a search.

?We don?t know where she is so we don?t have a starting place to search,? Inspector Hogg said.

?We?ve had an unconfirmed report she?s been sighted in the Merrylands area.?

Her aunty, Tricia Carlow, posted a photo of Melissa to Facebook which has been shared over 2000 times.

?My niece Melissa Borg is missing from the Baulkham Hills area since Thursday afternoon 02nd April 2015,? she wrote.

?Can you please share this around and keep an eye out for her. We at least need to know that she is safe and well.?

Melissa?s family are extremely concerned for her wellbeing and anyone with information is urged to contact police.

The school uniform she was last seen in has a dark blue skirt and pale blue blouse

Uggh. I should've waited 1 more day before posting. *Looks* like this one's safe according to posts under her NSW Police fb entry

I won' t say it's certain just yet though because there were similar police fb posts from kids about the girl on the mid-north coast late last year & they turned out to be total crap - it ended in the worst way possible & they couldn't have seen her where they claimed. Anyway, if it's true the police will either update or lockdown the page soon enough.

I grew up in baulkham hills.I have family still there. Its a middle class area lots of families. I'm not saying its the perfect place to be , but its a pretty quiet area as far as violent crime goes.
I would be surprised if anything other then a runaway kinda scenario was happening with this girl.
