Body of Georgia mother who warned 'something was going to happen' before disappearance may have been located
Human remains found in rural Georgia woods possibly belong to a mother of three who has been missing for almost two months and told family members she was worried "something was going to happen" to her, police said.
The Floyd County Sheriff's Office said there is a "strong possibility" a body found in a wooded area Friday area belongs to 24-year-old Ashley Jones, according to Northwest Georgia News.
The state crime lab will now conduct an examination on the body, authorities said.
Jones, a mother of three daughters, was last seen within walking distance of the area where the body was found on Feb. 6, reports TV Station WSB-TV.
Authorities said Jones told her family "something was going to happen" to her a short time before her disappearance.
Cyndi Jones, of Douglassville Ga., told the TV station the body belongs to her daughter.
She did not state who told her the body belonged to her daughter.
"My beautiful daughter was found today. I am heartbroken to say that she is no longer with us," she wrote on her Facebook page.
"I cannot express to you the heartache and pain I feel. I am only posting this so her friends who care for her knows," she wrote. "Please understand I am devastated and I only ask that what you post is respectful, and please let my family grieve in peace. Thank you."
