Woman who jumped to her death on overpass identified
The woman who crashed her car into a barricade on the Interstate 15 flyover in the Spaghetti Bowl and then jumped to her death Tuesday evening has been identified.
She is Rocio Nava, 36, of Las Vegas, the Clark County coroner's office said Wednesday.
Las Vegas police said they received a call about a domestic dispute just before 5 p.m. in the 5200 block of Carol Clara Circle. Although the details on the call weren't immediately clear, police said Nava was involved.
Almost half an hour later, police received another call regarding Nava. Witnesses said Nava purposely crashed her car into the barricade on the interstate heading north, exited her car and then jumped nearly 100 feet onto the U.S. Highway 95 exit ramp, near Martin Luther King Boulevard.
Nava was taken to University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
