Found this on reddit, so I don't know if we should really believe it or not...but I'll post it anyway, since it does seem plausible.
I'm from Ocilla GA where this took place...They are speculating more arrests..His friend helped him dispose of the body by burning it on family land..His friend is nowhere to be found...That is what is being said...Also he was not even remotely on the radar..He got drunk and ran his mouth to ex gf and when they split she ratted him out..Would have never been solved had it not been for the Jim Beam family

See, this is exactly what I was talking about earlier. Time passes, and people no longer have the relationships they once had with people, and then they start spilling the beans. I hope this happens in some of the other old missing persons cases.

A friend of mine who just listened to the podcast is the one who cued me in that there was an update. Apparently, the podcast was pretty excellent.

This is probably the first missing person case I actively followed; how gratifying to see some measure of justice after it seemed destined to remain unsolved.

    Rest well, Tara.

I listened to the latest podcast about this last night and apparently Ryan Duke told someone TEN YEARS AGO that he had killed her and put her body on a pecan farm. And cause they were all drinking at a party, they thought he was joking.

I am fairly certain he didn't do this alone. The podcast blanked out the names of someone else they suspect to be involved and insinuated that he is currently nowhere to be found.

Tara Grinstead's sister says she's known suspect's family for years: 'It's unreal'

Arrest warrants accuse Bo Dukes of hiding the body between Oct. 23 and Oct. 28, 2005 on a farm off Bowens Mill Highway just outside Fitzgerald. Records show the farm is owned by a relative of Bo Dukes.

“I can't even put this into words. It's unreal. It's just unbelievable.” Grinstead’s sister, Anita Gattis, said.

Gattis said she’s known Bo Dukes’ family for years, but never connected him with any part of her sister’s disappearance.

She said during the time of all the searches for Tara Grinstead in 2005, she stayed in Ocilla with relatives of Bo Dukes.

“They were some of the most heartbroken people in the area over Tara’s disappearance,” she said.

Dukes and Duke were high school classmates at Irwin County High School, where Grinstead taught.

That is pretty creepy, but I don't think people realize how often that happens.

I don't know if I'm buying the robbery motive. Most people rob people when they aren't home. I think she could have been targeted because she lived alone.

Not-guilty plea entered for Tara Grinstead murder suspect Ryan Duke

The lawyer for Ryan Duke, the man accused of killing Tara Grinstead, entered a not-guilty plea for his client Thursday morning.

Duke, who is accused of killing the Ocilla school teacher 11 years ago, was not present during the brief hearing Irwin County Superior Court.

His lawyer, John Mobley, entered the plea after Duke waived his right to an arraignment before Judge Melanie Cross.

The next potential court date in the case is a July 20 calendar call.

A second man, Bo Dukes, faces several charges for allegedly helping Ryan Duke conceal Grinstead's body. No trial date has been set for him.

But a shocking twist came in February, when a woman, Brooke Sheridan, came forward to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation with information from the man she loves ? her boyfriend, Bo Dukes.

"I felt like I was gonna be sick. I didn't know who I was staring at. I didn't know who he was," Sheridan told "48 Hours" correspondent Peter Van Sant in her only interview.

Dukes confided to Sheridan that his friend, Ryan Duke, had told him that he had killed Grinstead back in 2005. Duke convinced Dukes to help him dispose of her body. Both men were former students in Grinstead's history class.

"Why would Ryan Duke have murdered Tara Grinstead?" Van Sant asked.

"He said, 'That's something that only God and Ryan know,'" Sheridan said.

Sheridan faced a moral dilemma: turning in the man she loved, or keeping his confession to herself.

"And I knew that he would probably serve the rest of his life in jail," Sheridan said. "That family's peace to me was more important than his freedom."

That's when Sheridan went to authorities telling them she knew what happened to Grinstead and where her remains could be found. Then she confronted Dukes.

"I said, 'You need to confess. You need to own to what you've done and confess.' I said, 'Because that family deserves to know,'" Sheridan said.

"And what does Bo say?" Van Sant asked.

"He says, 'I just want her family to know,'" Sheridan said.

Duke was arrested and charged with murder. Dukes, who is not related, was charged with concealing her death and is expected to be the star witness against Duke.

A close friend and the sister of Tara Grinstead are anything but impressed after learning about a south Georgia woman who claims she's the one who led investigators to Grinstead's alleged killer.

A story aired on CBS This Morning Thursday about Brooke Sheridan who told CBS' 48 Hours that she's the tipster who cracked the 11-year-old murder mystery.

Grinstead, an Ocilla school teacher, went missing in October 2005, and her case became the biggest missing-person case in the GBI's history.

In February, the GBI charged Ryan Duke with killing her.

"She's just seeking attention," said Wendy McFarland about Sheridan. McFarland was a close friend of Grinstead's. They both taught at Irwin County High School.

Anita Gattis, Grinstead's sister, had even less to say about Sheridan.

"She's not worth it," Gattis said when asked for a response to Sheridan's story on CBS This Morning.

The GBI could not confirm that Sheridan's tip lead them to Duke or if Sheridan is eligible for the reward money associated with the case.

Sheridan told 48 Hours that her boyfriend, Bo Dukes, confessed to her that he was involved in the case.

Second man indicted in case of missing Georgia teacher

A second suspect has been indicted in connection with the death of a Georgia teacher and former beauty queen who vanished nearly 12 years ago.

Media outlets report a Ben Hill County grand jury on Monday indicted 32-year-old Bo Dukes on charges of concealing a death, tampering with evidence and hindering the apprehension of a criminal in 30-year-old Tara Grinstead's death.

Investigators believe Dukes helped a former classmate, 33-year-old Ryan Alexander Duke, remove Grinstead's body from her Ocilla home. Dukes is also accused of burning Grinstead's body.

Grinstead was reported missing in October 2005 when she didn't show up for work at the school where she taught. No arrests were made in the case until February, when a tipster contacted authorities with information that led to the men's arrests.

Georgia high court tosses gag order in slain teacher case

Georgia's highest court tossed out a gag order in the high-profile case of a slain high school teacher and former beauty pageant contestant whose mysterious disappearance more than 12 years ago drew "significant media interest."
The case went cold until new information led to the arrest in February 2017 of Ryan Alexander Duke, a former student at the school where Grinstead taught.

But authorities have been tightlipped about what led to the arrest and any motive behind the slaying, and the judge overseeing the case issued a gag order.

Duke burglarized the teacher's home in Ocilla, about 190 miles (305 kilometers) south of Atlanta, and used his hands to kill her inside the residence, according to warrants that were read at a court hearing when his arrest was announced. He removed her body from the home with the intent of concealing her death, the warrants said.

Soon after Duke's arrest, the judge overseeing the case issued a gag order prohibiting attorneys, investigators, potential witnesses and even relatives of the victim and suspects from publicly discussing Grinstead's slaying. The judge later modified it to prohibit attorneys, law enforcement and court personnel from disclosing case evidence, any statements made by Duke, expected witness testimony and potential pleas.

Duke was indicted in April on two counts of felony murder and one count each of malice murder, aggravated assault, burglary and concealing the death of another.

A second man, Bo Dukes, was indicted in June on charges of concealing a death, tampering with evidence and hindering the apprehension of a criminal.

"A gag order like this one may be constitutionally permissible in exceptional circumstances, but the record here does not reveal circumstances sufficiently exceptional to warrant such a restraint," Justice Keith Blackwell wrote in a unanimous opinion. "For that reason, we vacate the gag order."

New court documents suggest that within weeks of a south Georgia teacher's 2005 disappearance, two of her ex-students told friends at a party they had killed her and burned her body.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Ryan Alexander Duke and Bo Dukes made the admission a month after Tara Grinstead was reported missing in October 2005. Court documents filed this week in Irwin County Superior Court say their comments were reported to police but they weren't arrested until 2017.

Duke's attorneys say in court motions that because it took so long to arrest them, all but the murder charge should be dropped, due to the statute of limitations.

"It is undisputed that Irwin County law enforcement knew of these crimes within months of the disappearance of Tara Grinstead," a court motion states. "In fact, a search of the area where Ms. Grinstead's body was allegedly burned was conducted ..."

Because Duke and Dukes were identified as suspects later in 2005 but not charged until 2017, all but the murder charge should be dropped, Duke's public defenders claim in one of two dozen motions filed in the past week.

"Duke and Dukes were identified as suspects and known to law enforcement in 2005," the motion states. "By a generous application of the statute of limitations of four years, the statute would have run (expired) near December of 2009."

The state’s case against the man accused of murdering Tara Grinstead may not be heard in Ocilla, but we do not know at this time where it will be heard, and the judge isn’t conceding the point that it should be moved.

District Attorney Paul Bowden seemed to agree with the defense motion to move the trial out of Irwin County, citing pretrial publicity.

The trial will begin Monday, April 1, 2019. This will be a month-long trial, and also includes jury selection.

A suspect in the cold case disappearance of a south Georgia beauty queen and teacher - and a man who recently had his bond revoked on disturbing new charges - has been caught.

Bo Dukes disappeared on Jan. 1 after investigators said he held two women at gunpoint, raped one of them and took off.

Thursday afternoon a federal judge rescinded the voluntary surrender of Dukes with the judge calling on U.S. Marshals to track him down.
