Last night, upon chance, I found out the saddest news. On April 14, 2014 Athena Baumeister died at the age of 16. There have been little details released about her death, and her official web-site lays dormant, untouched since the last time I visited it years ago. The only cause of death given by the few sources I could find was that it was due to ?an illness.? A bright girl with great ambitions and a promising career, the world never got to truly know Athena Baumeister, and we lost a talent that never reached its true potential.

ETA: This site says that her family are keeping the cause of death to themselves and that there are rumours that she killed herself but that these aren't true. I'll paste it as the font on that website kills your eyes!

R.I.P. Athena Baumeister
Yesterday morning, we found out that 16 year old "Little Reaper" actress had passed away the night before. We were deeply saddened by this and wanted to wait a few days before saying anything, as to let the news be spread to her friends and family before posting it here. While we do know the cause of her passing, her family wants to keep it within close family and friends. But there are rumors going around that Athena killed herself, which we will clear up right now is NOT true, whatsoever. Athena was a very happy, bright, talented young girl with her whole future ahead of her, and her passing was completely accidental. That's all we'll say, but we'd like to deeply express out condolences to Athena's friends and family in this hard time.

Her IMDB page has been amended to show that she died but any social media links appear to be broken and I can't find a COD anywhere

One of the first things the family did was declare thst it wasn't suicide. I think it was suicide. There's some truth in some denials.

When people refuse to acknowledge a suicide, they always call it an accident. That it's unintentional. I think she killed herself too.

She could have just gotten a balloon of bad smack. Sounds like an accidental OD or took to many pills. IDK, never heard of her.

I, personally, think it was an accidental overdose.

I mined the internet for news on this one last night, and I found several messages of "drugs" being involved. I really don't think she did it on purpose, but I think an accident did happen. Poor dear. Absolutely beautiful and so much to live for.

Yeah no luck with an obit here either. I've started going through some of her friend's Facebooks but nothing yet. One girl posted "I know you're happier now" in an RIP post about her but that's nothing definitive.

First name is Dianne. She's married to Roy Baumeister who I'm guess is Athena's father but perhaps she just took the last name. Both are psychology professors.

Okay so I have found that Athena had a cousin (? I think) called Billy Tice who also died.

And Athena's Aunt Linda has a business called Athena's Garden.
