Whatever the "complicating factor" is, maybe that would somehow make the consequences more severe.

I'm probably not even close, but it's hard not to speculate when we know so little about the parents.
Yeah I know, it makes it hard but that kind of explanation looks really doubtful. The house is L-shaped & the kids were running around it. They were out of sight for just a minute or 2 each time they ran around - & one of the places they crossed while they were out of sight was the driveway, so it's not surprising they picked his scent up there or that something could've happened there without anyone seeing or hearing anything.

Plus police keep saying the family's been cleared. They said they assessed the data on the family phones the first day. That photo of him yelling in the spiderman suit was taken on one of the phones less then an hour before he disappeared. They also said dad's errand checked out & that all possibilities were considered, so I'm assuming they put the dogs & forensics through the cars, I know they at least searched them - & more than once.

They definitely went through the house ( & I believe neighbouring properties too) from the roof cavity to the foundations several times. From what I've read everyone allowed full & multiple property & vehicle searches - no warrants required. The whole neighbourhood/town just gave police permission to go for it & do whatever they had to do.

So I think that if senior police are saying the family was cleared & dad's errand was checked out, it means witnesses placed him elsewhere before the photo was taken. They've even had a forensic geologist on scene so I'd say they'll have been as thorough with every device the family own & have built a timeline with calls, photos/uploads, tower pings & witness statements. If that photo auto-uploaded to something like icloud or photobucket the timestamp could be verified & it would instantly alibi the dad if he was known to be elsewhere at the time.

NSW Police have a tendency to word things a certain way when they have suspicions, they're not doing it at all in this case. I don't think I've ever seen them treat a family with this much compassion. Plus it's a small town, if word on the street said there was family involvement, locals wouldn't be locking their doors & watching their kids 24/7. According to police statements so far, the only possibilities are either he got lost & somehow the searches missed him (& people are still searching voluntarily, they haven't stopped) or someone else was on that street that day & knows what happened. Police have said a few times since the official search ended though that he's not in the bush around Kendall. If they're right it leaves only one possibility.

That makes sense, lots of good points. It's so hard to imagine that a parent could do something like that, but we just see it so often on this site.

Ugh, I want him to be found safe. This case bothers me a lot.

If the scent trail ends at the driveway, that means it isn't in the car or around the property. So if someone killed this kid, the kid's body was taken far, far away in a car the cops don't have access to.

I still think an animal is entirely possible but I really love the movie A Cry In The Dark.

I would think the dogs would have picked up the scent trail at the house and then followed it to where it ended. I've been looking for more info, but all I can find is they haven't found the scent. If it had rained between the time he went missing and the time they searched, that might explain it, but that's not what they're saying. It says, "Police are baffled." Was he even at the grandmother's house?

William Tyrell search: police say sniffer dogs have found no trace of boy
Authorities say investigators are ?keeping an open mind? about whether William was taken
    Australian Associated Press
    theguardian.com, Monday 15 September 2014 22.51 EDT

Sniffer dogs have failed to pick up any scent of the three-year-old William Tyrell on the NSW mid-north coast, fuelling fears he may not have wandered away from home.

The search for the three-year-old who vanished from his grandmother?s Kendall home on Friday is in its fifth day ? and the chances of finding him alive nearby are thought to be rapidly diminishing.

?It?s baffling that there?s no lead at this time,? Superintendent Paul Fehon told Macquarie Radio on Tuesday.

?We would have thought we would have had some indication of something at this stage of this very thorough search.?
Neither police sniffer dogs nor cadaver dogs had been able to pick up any sign of the boy, Fehon said.

He said investigators were ?keeping an open mind? about whether William had been taken.

Police in the mid-north coast area have been working with specialist units across the state, including the sex crime squad.

Known sex offenders in the area have been contacted to confirm their whereabouts when William was last seen in his grandmother?s front yard around 10.30am last Friday.

?We are concentrating back on last Friday when he was in that yard, playing with his sister, with his grandmother there and his mother at home,? Fehon said.

?If someone saw anything or knew of anyone that was visiting the Kendall area before 11 o?clock, if they could please call Crime Stoppers.?

Authorities and members of the Kendall community are refusing to give up, as fresh crews from Sydney and Newcastle join the search.

?We do have grave concerns,? Fehon said. ?To disappear that quickly absolutely bewilders us.?

The search will be expanded on Tuesday from 1.5km around the home, which backs on to bush, out to 3km, with police on trial bikes venturing further afield.

?The whole operation has covered in excess of 10 square kilometres,? Fehon said.

A family friend told the Seven Network that William was a ?gorgeous little boy, happy, cheeky adventurer?.

Crime Stoppers can be contacted on 1800 333 000.

Or he was killed in the house, then carried away in something airtight.

The vid's back one page & there's also a screenshot of The Australian article that Olivia posted somewhere. ( if not this link should work http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news...-1227064608526 it's a bit screwy, sometimes it's open, sometimes not so try flipping in & out

Just be REALLY careful with links for this case, The Australian article mentions it but there's extremely restricted reporting & the family can't be identified for legal reasons. This is HIGHLY unusual. I had mum's page in here & some other stuff but I've taken it all out because of the no-publish restriction. Even our worst tabloids aren't printing names or photos which is totally unheard of.

The NSW police facebook page has even removed the first alert that went out 12 Sept because when his mum posted a plea for information it created a link to her page - which was supposed to be locked down but keeps going from blocked, to partially open to public. They deleted the whole alert & it's thread of over 1000 comments just to get that one link off their page. They locked her account down as well, but the privacy settings keep changing so people are still accessing it on & off.

So if anyone comes across ANYTHING, anywhere that isn't already in the media, DON'T POST publicly (espec photos) I don't think it'll be a problem for most people on MDS, but because some of us are in Australia, I'd prefer not to find out how serious they are (or be responsible if the media blackout is because someone was a victim of a previous crime or something & someone finds them). I cannot stress how weird it is for the media not to fight this - you all saw the scrum over Gammy, so there has to be a pretty good reason.

ETA just read the other posts ...

Re the scent trail - by "no scent" they meant in the bush. Those reports were about the searches away from the house. Will try to find a link re the drive

ETA I think it was actually a conversation between searchers/SES/trackers on NSW Police fb. They upset at comments suspecting the parents because of "no scent found" & explained they did get a scent the first day, it ended at either the front boundary or driveway & there had been no further trace since & none at all in any other search area. Pretty sure it was in the giant thread I linked but which has since been deleted by police.

Re could it be family - His dad had left on an errand & William was photographed playing on the back verandah with his sister, his grandma's feet are in the shot, mum's the one who took it. They went over all the ph & pic data & verified the time it was taken - which was less than an hour before he disappeared. They checked out what dad was doing & verified it. They have a timeline from whatever they used to verify dad's whereabouts, calls between family, the call to triple 000, the photo timestamp/upload & the witnesses in the neighbourhood - the yards are big, unfenced & have a view to neighbouring properties. Anyone out in their yard, or at their window, would've seen/heard the kids running around the yard (& there was at least one guy mowing his lawn) & would've been able to verify the family's story too

Whatever they've got, police aren't being ambiguous about it - they're literally saying "the family were cleared the first day". I can't see them risking statements like that unless they're positive. (& that guy on pg 2 is still the only missing SO alert issued since they announced they'd cleared SO's near Kendall & were widening the investigation to check in with all north coast SO's. He's the only one not just for the north coast, but for all 312, 528 sq miles of NSW)

    Ahem. How bout copypasta

    http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news...-1227064608526

THE name William seems a bit formal for a three year old, and so*throughout the week Super*intendent Paul Fehon, a patient, compassionate man, softens it by*referring to him always as ?young William?. Fehon has been in daily contact with the distraught parents of William Tyrell since he disappeared from his grandmother?s house at Kendall on the NSW mid-north coast nine days ago, dressed in a Spider-Man suit. The mid-north coast commander has been the public face of the investigation, and he has been careful with his language, mindful of the family, avoiding any mention of abduction in favour of ?human intervention?. He?s spoken of hope when to others hope seemed lost. He?s chided the media when questioned about the involvement of the sex crimes unit. Really, do the family need know that at this time? He?s tried to shield William?s parents, but he just cannot say the only words they want to hear. ?We?ve found your son.?

So he tells them what he tells me. ?We have a starting point, and that is the house. We are being *totally honest in providing everything we can. We have uncovered no new lead to be able to say we have a new starting point.? It is baffling when you see from where it was he vanished. It?s *bewildering, too, in this era of electronic footprints, when a person?s phone is their personal tracker, that someone can disappear without a trace and nobody, or no machine, has seen a thing. William, his parents and his young sister travelled to Kendall from Sydney on the afternoon of Thursday, September 11. His parents, I was told, live at Killara, on the upper north shore. They were described to me as ?committed Christians and reasonably well off?. (William has a complicated family history and, for legal *reasons, his family cannot be named. It has made aspects of this story difficult to report).

Kendall is an old timber and farming village at the base of the hinterland, 40 minutes south of Port Macquarie. It?s lush, neat and reasonably prosperous, populated by old rural families, sea changers and retirees. It?s a strong, close-knit community. William?s grandmother ? a widow ? moved here ?some years ago?. She is well respected, ?a lovely, lovely lady? immersed in the community. She volunteers at the tourist information centre. She helped set up a community computer room for seniors. She is a keen letter writer to the local paper, the Camden Haven Courier, urging village improvements. Her house is in a newish subdivision of large, half-hectare blocks, about 1km from the centre of Kendall ? the posh part of the village. Benaroon Drive is a dead- end with about 40 houses in it. William?s grandma lives in a big house near the top of the street, up a steep little hill, with a clear view down Benaroon Drive. It is *surrounded by thick bush on three sides.

On Friday morning, September 12, after breakfast, William and his sister played in a sunroom in the house, colouring-in with crayons. One of the adults took a photograph on a phone of an *excited William in his Spider-Man suit with his sister, head*down in the background, *engrossed in drawing. William?s dad went off to ?run an errand?. Grandma, Mum, William and his sister went to the back of the house, where the kids played. Mum went in to make a cup of tea. ?The two kids then played chase-ies around the house,? Fehon tells me. (There was no fence, but it isn?t the sort of place you?d be concerned because the only traffic is to the few houses up that end of Benaroon Drive.) And, then, ?within one to five minutes the adults noticed that William was missing?. They looked around the house. They couldn?t find him. They became frantic. William?s father was called on a mobile phone. He raced home to help. Within 10-15 minutes, neighbours on the street were searching as well. They couldn?t find him. ?Twenty to 25 minutes? after he was first noticed missing, the police were called. They *arrived within six minutes. A ?full search? was initiated.

By now, a couple of dozen *locals were looking for William. Within a few hours, police with sniffer dogs arrived from Port Macquarie. The bush surrounding the house had been ?contaminated? but the handlers, with their dogs, swept further out into the bush. They could pick up no scent. ?If a person was out there, the dogs would have been aware of it,? Fehon explains. By early afternoon that first day, word had spread that a little boy was missing. The community responded and by 1pm there were close to 100 people combing the bush. More came when school finished and there was another surge as folks got home from work. They searched late into the night. Nothing.

In the days since, there has*been a co-ordinated search *involving hundreds of specialist police, the SES, Rural Fire Service, the pony club and locals. Dams have been drained and divers have searched others. Cameras have been put down septic tanks and drains. Not a sandal or scrap of cloth from the Spider-Man suit has turned up. ?It?s like something has come from the sky,? said Louise May, a volunteer surf lifesaver from Port Macquarie who?d given up her week to help search. ?Like he was plucked out of thin air.? Fehon says while the initial focus was on finding ?young William? in the bush, a team of investigators had looked at other possibilities ?from day one?.

Detectives were on the scene that afternoon. The ?errand? William?s father was on has been investigated. He was where he said he was. The phone on which the last photograph of William was taken has been analysed ? the photo was taken ?within an hour? of his disappearance. There is no evidence of any family dispute. William?s wider family has been thoroughly investigated and interviewed, too. Their alibis have been declared sound ? they were hundreds of kilometres away when William disappeared. Very few people knew the family had left Sydney to visit the area. A team of 30 specialist detectives and analysts has been searching for clues, doorknocking and scouring phone records. They?ve been interviewing known sex *offenders in the area, in nearby towns and in caravan parks. They?ve hit a brick wall, too, Fehon says.

There were reports someone had dropped into the local general store and asked for directions to Benaroon Drive. Fehon says they are glad to receive all information and have followed up all leads, but, tellingly, no alert has been *issued about that person or their vehicle. If there was solid evidence, they would want to get it out to the public. While clues have been scarce, compassion has flowed. Karlee Butler, 27, of North Haven, has been at Kendall every day since William went missing. She helped search for the first two days and then moved into the kitchen at the showground ? ?from 5 in the morning til 8 at night, from brekkie til tea? ? providing fresh meals for the searchers. ?I still have hope,? she says. ?And while they keep searching we?ll stay and feed em.? She shows me a neatly written list of all the local businesses and individuals who have donated money and food ? two pages of her notepad.

Benaroon Drive has been closed off to the public, but on Thursday morning, after phoning the family to make sure it was OK, Fehon agrees to show a small group of reporters around. The command centre has been set up at the house. Only two houses are further up. Two children?s bikes are propped against a wall. It is a lovely bush setting. As we stand on the road, the policeman invites us to draw conclusions. If William had been ?playing chase-ies? with his sister, where would he run? It is unlikely that a three year old would run up a steep hill. The logical place is down hill, in full view of the house. ?You can see the aspect of the house,? he says. ?If you are inside the house you are looking straight down the street. You have got a view hundreds of metres down the street. You?d hear a car coming up the street.?

There is bush all around. If a child had gone missing, you?d *initially assume he was lost in the bush. But on closer inspection the bush is thick with lantana and spikes and there are no real tracks. It is very difficult terrain for a three year old to navigate. So if he?s not lost in the bush, what next? Someone has taken him. But who knew he was there? Any vehicle or any person coming* into Benaroon Drive is conspicuous. The neighbours all know*each other and each other?s vehicles ? strangers and strange vehicles are noticed. All the yards are large and open and neatly mown. Would an ?opportunistic? predator risk an abduction in such a setting where he could be so *easily caught? Besides, it?s not the sort of street you just cruise past. ?What are the percentages?? the policeman asks.

The same goes for a targeted abduction ? but if it was targeted how did they know he was there? Where would they sit and wait for the chance for the child to run out on to the street? ?OK,? Fehon says as he looks at his watch. ?You guys have been*here 10 minutes; what do you*think has happened to young William?? We don?t know, we say, looking at each other. It does seem an incredibly difficult location to snatch a child. ?We don?t know, either,? Fehon says. ?That?s why we are keeping an open mind to all pos*sibilities.? He reminds us they are investigating the disappearance of a little boy, young William. ?Everyone is incredibly motivated by that. Everyone is doing everything they possibly can to find him.? The search at Kendall will continue over the weekend, on the edge of roads and bush tracks ? it*is now a search for clues, for things that may have been thrown from the vehicle of a kidnapper.

It is strange how the media is not reporting the families information. I really want to know the story begin this. More importantly, I hope this little guy is found safe.

They're keeping it quiet because of some Australian legal issues. It seems very strange to me too, mind-boggling. Everything to be known is either in b-star's post above or "A Current Affair's" video on the previous page.

It's weird that the mother's fb page doesn't stay down. If she makes it private, it should stay that way. So, either she's not controlling it properly or someone is hacking it. It was open today. If everything is so secret, why would she have so many family pictures online? That doesn't make sense. If it was so critical to keep their privacy, why hasn't LE helped her make certain it was down?

This is starting to smell bad to me. Are they staying un-ID'd because they don't want reporters at their door?

It's definitely unusual, re family fb's, it should stay that way - you expect it to stay that way - but it doesn't. I've had to lock mine down due to someone in our past & it resets itself every time fb put updates through - or sometimes just because I've posted. In the end I had to make a dummy account so I could stalk myself to see how my account really appears for strangers. Every now & then I find it completely open.

The privacy tool NSW Police posted after her account was locked down was made because of multiple complaints, but it's as much bullshit as anything they've done in the past & there's a huge issue they don't make very clear - when you start locking down you get little pop-ups telling you that "some" posts "may" still be public if they appear in your friend's timeline & the friend isn't locked down (by "some posts" they mean every pic you upload & the comments under them) this is exactly how people started getting into her account again. Anytime someone said they were a friend/relative of William's family, their page was immediately stalked & people got in through the friend's friend list if they weren't locked down. Basically her profile won't come up on a fb name search anymore, but people are still accessing her account through friend links & tags.

Just discovered I lied too. The police post of 12/9 isn't gone - they just blocked it from appearing in their timeline. Which could mean they want to keep the comment thread (with all the comments from people openly saying they know the family's not being named, but they're breaching privacy anyway - seriously, if you're going to stalk a protected person's fb, the official NSW Police fb is probably the dumbest place to announce your "sleuthing skills") but they wanted mum's link off their page I guess. I'm not sure they realise people can still access it until it drops off search pages. Social media has made protection orders a huge fucking mess in cases like this.

& no, if the family just didn't want to deal with reporters no-one would give a shit. They'd camp in their yard & follow them at the shops. If they had a legal history that showed them in a poor light it'd be dug up & splashed across every tabloid - & if police had any suspicions toward family they'd let the media pack tear them to pieces, they'd even quietly encourage it.

In this case media are being "chided" for not acting sensitively toward the family in their reporting. When they're unsure they'll say things like "they're not a suspect at this time" or they'll avoid the questions altogether but in this case police have blatantly said "the family were cleared the first day". They've never made a negative comment about them. Media take their cues from the way police treat people & there's no mistaking the language & actions here - this family are being openly treated as victim's, not suspects so I'm guessing police do know something but don't want to break their hearts til it's confirmed.

ETA Strike Force Rosann, was formed for William 4 days into the search - it's comprised of Sex Crimes Unit & Missing Persons Unit detectives from Sydney. In cases where parents were involved the Homicide Squad was often called in on day 1 or 2 of the search - the units they call on usually indicate when evidence is located & what it might be pointing to)

People theorize that William may have ran to the mailman. Maybe, what would he do if he saw Spiderman or another superhero? I looked up Spiderman masks and costumes, and found they're easy to get. Hmm. Surely an adult all in red with a child in red would have been noticed. Just another dumb idea.

So, I switched to another topic and came to a photo something like this.
It was chilling. Would a 3 year take someone with a black head mask as a superhero? Does his dad wear a uniform?

Some of the other forums say that William was a foster kid. I couldn't help but wonder if the bio parents came and got him??? Especially after reading this article...

EVERY person who was in the village of Kendall on the day toddler William Tyrell went missing needs to come forward and explain why they were there and what they were doing, police said yesterday.

Acting Superintendent Commander Tony Joice, who is heading the taskforce investigating the three-year-old?s disappearance from the north coast village, said officers need to rule out any potential leads in the ?astonishing? case.

?If you were in the Kendall area, we need to know what you were doing, who you were visiting, what car you were driving, what you were doing there,? he said.

?It?s about putting the pieces together.?

William was last seen wearing a Spiderman suit in the front yard of his grandmother?s home on Benaroon Drive in Kendall, south of Port Macquarie, on Friday, September 12.

William?s sudden disappearance sparked a massive search of the surrounding bush involving more than 300 local volunteers, SES officers, rural fire service personnel and police. The first thought was that he had wandered off alone into the bush.

But the complete absence of evidence ? tracks, scent trails, pieces of clothing, blood or hair ? has heightened fears he may have been abducted.

Commander Joice said the dog squad was brought in last week to search an area police believed could hold some clues but failed to find anything significant.

He said police did not believe William was still in the area and were now investigating the possibility he was abducted.

?Considering how exhaustive that ground search was, we were there 24-7 for over a week, the chances of him being in that vicinity are very small,? he said.

?We?re comfortable that search has been completed and are pursuing other lines of inquiry.?

However, he said William?s four-year-old sister, who was with him when he went missing, had not been able to shed any light on what happened.

He said police were still wading through hundreds of calls made to the Crime Stoppers police line about William?s case and the investigation would continue until William was found.

?It will continue for some time until there?s an outcome achieved and we find out what?s happened,? Commander Joice said. ?We are still working just as hard as we were before.

?We?d like to think we?ll find him tomorrow, but we really don?t know at this stage.?

Meanwhile, a Facebook page called Bring Little Spiderman William Tyrell Home, which has more than 12,000 followers, has been set up to help raise awareness about the missing toddler.

The foster care stuff is all rumour backed up by fb posts at the moment. Some are insisting it's fact (based on fb claims) but there are people who say they're friends/relatives (some linked to the mum's account) saying it's all bullshit.

If it is true people are risking some serious shit posting the stuff they're posting because revealing a kid's foster care status is a HUGE deal. It's the "can' t be named for legal reasons" & mention of DOCs being called in to assist the family the first week that caused most of it. The bulk of the first fb mentions appeared less than 24 hrs before the media mentioned DOCs - which would make sense in a small town. People see them arrive at the house & word spreads around town & then onto social media, then police announce it officially at the next media briefing. DOCs also provide in-home assistance to families in crisis so their involvement doesn't necessarily mean foster care. "Can't be named for legal reasons" isn' t necessarily foster care either.

    - but it's definitely on the list of "could-be's".

Even so, from what I can gather, at least some of one's saying he's in foster care & that they know the bio family are also saying he's gone & that the bio parents are frantic & have been banned from talking publicly.

IF any of it's true, seeing as police said "extended family" were investigated & cleared + "there were no known family disputes" it sounds as though they're pretty much certain it's not family related - & they don't usually form task forces when there's a custody dispute. This task force is comprised of detectives from the Sex Crimes & Missing Persons Units + forensics officers. It was formed around the time police searchers switched from looking for William around Kendall, to looking for vehicle parts or "items thrown from a car" in the Middle Brother National Park. I don't know what they came up with to make them do that, but this was happening day 4/5 while the search Kendall was still happening - it didn't end until day 11.

It was chilling. Would a 3 year take someone with a black head mask as a superhero? Does his dad wear a uniform?

    Are you suggesting ISIS?

Umm. No. That is as likely as yowies or aliens in a place like Kendall.

(ISIS honestly isn't nearly as prevalent in Australia as it seems to be in MDS threads just now)

ETA I get what you're saying about uniforms but that kind of thing would be far more likely in a capital city. Someone dressed like that would stand out in Sydney, in a bush town there's NO WAY it wouldn't be noticed. If someone did this, it was someone who blended so well that either no-one gave them a second glance as they entered & left the town, or they didn't have far to go before they were out of sight.

I was thinking maybe they missed him in the bush, but there were a bunch of police media releases on 3 Oct (Australian time) & they mentioned they'd covered the area again with cadaver dogs up until last week. Still nothing.

Maybe they did this, but my question is why didn't the pigs get in their chopper fitted out with all of the thermal detection gear on the first night he went missing, tell everyone to refrain from searching that night and stay indoors while they searched the whole area and forest which would have determined whether he was in the vicinity to mount a rescue op (or to confirm he was not exposed to the elements and probably been kidnapped)? That chopper and its technology pays for itself in crop busts, the least they could have done was actually use it for a public service instead of the usual revenue raising. It's been so cold that William would have stood out like the proverbial, even if the poor little mite had curled into a ball under thick, metre high growth.

Someone may have said it earlier but I'd like to hope he's stumbled across a recluse's shack and the recluse is so recluse that while he/she/they take good care of William, the searchers will have to find them because he/she/they wouldn't voluntarily reenter society even if it's to get W safely back to his parents. It's a fantasy, but it's the only situation I can find plausible for W to be able to return safe, unharmed and alive so long after his disappearance.

They did have Polair out within hours & they searched all that day & night but the bush up there is too thick for thermal-imaging (ETA for a small kid who's likely to crawl into & under thick undergrowth, as opposed to crops that grow up through the undergrowth to seek sunlight) to work from the air. They had a team on the ground using it though (according to an article I now can't find). Because it's SO thick - there was a far better chance of spotting him on foot.

Sorry for the belated response but thank you blighted star. Your post was way more informative than the one mention of air rescue I have found since I last posted. I have seen pics of that forest and it's certainly thick. I have witnessed exercises in a far less dense park where people dressed in blue a few shades darker than the blue on William's costume the day he disappeared be able to completely conceal themselves. Some of them were no more than 2 metres away. So if William was out of sight and didn't call out, forget it. I believe this is still, sadly, a possibility. (Sidebar, like someone on Facebook said, it's sad when you 'hope' he's been kidnapped because his odds of being alive are a lot higher) But there's been photos posted of how crop houses are found so easily by the thermal imaging that a warm little body would have been detected on a cold night no matter how thick the bush was. Will post this then try to find an example or 2.

That's exactly what I was saying.

William and his family didn't live in Kendall. Their home is near Sydney and this was the first morning William and his sister were at the house. Their Dad (military, government, law enforcement) could have been the target, and the reason for the blackout of family information. Quite a few people theorize that the family was followed up from Sydney the day before. It was also a "surprise" visit, maybe the family was trying to get away from something at home.

The terrorist(s) could have put on their black garb just before they were about to make the hit on the house, but William saw them and thought them to be friendly super heroes. Taking a willing little boy may have been seen as a better prize. Have you seen the photos ISIS puts up of little kids with guns and other atrocities?

Seriously, I know what you were saying but I was trying to be nice before - to make it clearer it's beyond unlikely & completely ridiculous. Yes I've seen the ISIS kid photos - I posted them here but there's enough hysteria & crazy theories over this case AND over the Islamophobia shit without joining them together in a mega-freakout. You're obviously very invested in the idea for some reason so I'll give you the long version of why I'm saying NO. This did not happen,

    1. because NSW is slightly bigger than Texas. Killara is not "near" Sydney, it's in Sydney. Kendall is 368km away near Port Macquarie - over an 8 hr round trip. If they wanted to target a military family there are tens of thousands living in cities & their suburbs all over Australia. Every Australian city has suburbs that have isolated bush areas within 20-30 mins drive from the CBD & enormous National Parks & rural areas within 40 mins to an hr. Basically there are many, many families to choose from & no shortage of suitably isolated areas much, much closer.

    2. If anyone ever really had any intention of carrying out such an attack they wouldn't take an 8 HOUR DRIVE past thousands of closer targets to do it. Besides, even the cases against the "suspects" arrested in the 800 officer strong terror raids are looking dubious now - the ceremonial sword that media touted as the one intended for use in the beheading of Australian citizens is actually plastic & a common ornament in many households. At least one of the men arrested practices a form of Islamic worship that ISIS rejects - they execute it's followers & would not accept him, nor would he ever support them) - & for all of those 800 officers dragging people from their homes, there were only 2 arrests

I'll concede though - maybe they'd put in 8 hrs just for drive time if the target was very high-ranking & well-known, but ... William's parents are far too young for there to be any chance of his dad being senior enough to be targeted this way. At least one of his grandfathers passed away earlier this year which means if he was ever serving, he wasn't in Sept 2014 & someone else would've been the current target. Even if we consider the tiny chance that the other grandfather is living AND somehow still serving as a well-known, high ranking ADF officer, there's still the huge problem that we're not seeing any involvement from the Australian Federal Police & ASIO - & they'd be all over it if there was just the teensiest chance anything like this had happened

    3. any kid, but especially a kid that likes super heroes knows that the dude dressed all in black is a bad guy. - & remember, William is still in the age group that cries at the sight of known good guy Santa Claus.

    4. If ISIS ever plan to abduct someone in Australia & hold them captive for weeks or months, they are not going to risk instantly screwing the mission by dressing like that for the riskiest part - public abduction. They'll save the "I'm an ISIS executioner looking to abduct & behead Australians & post their bloody deaths on social media" look for a private location.

    5. "When you hear hoofbeats, think of horses, not zebras"...

Kendall is a tiny bush town almost 230 miles from Sydney. Sadly it's looking like it's the one thing no-one wanted to face - William may have been taken by someone who didn't stand out because they looked like they belonged. There's a secluded bush path one house up from William's grandma's. From that spot they could watch the verandah where William was photographed colouring. They could see the back, front & one side garden. They could see exactly where the adults were. After they intercepted William, whether they walked him off, or carried him, if caught all they had to do was say "Oh is he yours? Thank goodness! I was trying to figure out where he came from! The poor little guy was just wandering alone. It's really lucky I came by when I did ... etc, etc". A toddler/preschooler would never be able to explain what really happened, & whoever did this might've even been thanked had he been caught in the act
