Has anyone watch "Naked and Afraid"

I'm watching episode 1 right now. A man and a woman (strangers) are left in the jungles of Costa Rica for 21 days with no clothes at all. He brought a firestarter and she brought a machete, that's it.

Yeah, there's a camera crew around for emergencies, but they are on their own. It's on Discovery channel. It's a re-run but it's not old, started June 2013.

They're supposed to be experienced survivalists, but I can just see some kids getting naked and vanishing in the woods because of this show. (I'm thinking of that girl in the mountains.)

Do they get money if they complete the challenge or survive?

I just don't get why anyone would want to do this on purpose.

No money, they do it because they're survivalists and want to test themselves.

I watched the one episode. It became a test to see how well they worked together. There's a marathon going on today, with a brand new season starting tonight. They are totally naked the whole time, with their private parts blurred. The next ep that came on was in the Louisiana swamps with all the snakes and alligators. (Luckily, a thunderstorm knocked out my Dish TV.)

I've seen another show called "Survival" in the guide, but I never watched it.

These are not like reality show, "Survivor".

Gotta go, baby dog is yelling at the thunder.

I don't get the point of them being naked, other than as a TV gimmick. It seems that being naked would leave you more vulnerable to biting insects, snakes, sunburn, etc.

Between this show and "Naked Dating", it's pretty obvious that reality TV is getting really desperate.

I'm pretty sure there is a naked real estate buying show, too.

Right? We are just minutes away from Stephen King's The running man or Hunger games. Pretty soon people being murdered live will be the only thing that satisfies.

Yeah. We love seeing people naked and suffering. How did we ever progress out of the Roman era?

This. I liked TV a lot better when the shows people were talking about were Seinfeld and Cheers. I popped into this thread because I thought this may be the title of a horror film I hadn't seen.

    i freakin love this show.

I cannot believe people sign up to do this shit and they dont get anything other than accommodations and a survival rating.

A couple of weeks ago there was an episode where the couple couldnt find a dependable source of water. So out of desperation, the girl took a chance and drank from a trickling stream. Well, she got sick, the show wasnt too specific until her partner got concerned and he had a "chat" with her. He asked her if she wanted to tap out because she (and i quote) "crapping everywhere".
aw man, that made me laugh.
She actually stayed and made it through.

I liked the one where they were in Arizona and he was a hunter and she was against disrupting nature. That guy literally lost his shit. She called him a "caveman gone wrong" He lost 31 lbs total. That's insane.

I respect those two for putting their differences aside and completing the challenge.
