    Thanks everyone, this wasn't unexpected (she was under hospice care), but still very painful. She has suffered tremendously for seven years, so her passing is bittersweet for sure.

    It's just a very strange way to start the year, don't you think? I'm one of those "start the year the way you want to live it" kind of people. This just didn't feel right to me.
