I had to laugh. In the comments on his FB post, they are talking about how it mightn't be true because they can't find an obituary for him. And someone wrote this:

I would like to first say, I am praying that my son-in-law is playing the cruelest joke ever, however, searching for an obituary is POINTLESS PEOPLE. They do not make obituaries automatically. Without next of kin, they know nothing about a deceased person.

My sister just graduated from Humboldt State. I've been up there a few times (once just to visit, another time to see her graduate) and it seems like there aren't many people up there. It's so weird that certain places we couldn't go to, like stores or restaurants, because it was Sunday and they aren't open all day.

Basically someone wrote on his fb (from his account) saying rip nate with his birth and death date. And then everyone was commenting and whoever was posting said that he had been killed while hitch hiking. And someone else random posted something like 'Nate is gone'. He had no phone so nobody can get in touch with him.

So nathans page has been deleated so that leads me to beleive that he is alive and well and probably feels really stupid for even posting that. I'm sorry to everyone that was worried. From what im told he is in San Francisco now so if anyone is around there then i would keep an eye out for him maybe he'll explain but my assumption is he was drunk and depressed or trying to disappear for some reason. either way its not cool at all. and definitely not the right way to get peoples attention. thanks to everyone who shared this page and again sorry for everyone being worried.

I think people have a right to "not want to be found," but I think they should contact the police to let them know they don't want to be found. That way people aren't wasting their time with FB pages, flyers, fundraisers, search parties, and using LE and other resources. That's what I think is bullshit. LE isn't obligated to tell anyone where you are all they can say is that they are alive and don't want to be found. Instead LE and other resources are used to look for someone who isn't missing.

I also don't like when someone "goes missing" from their children, on purpose. ugh

It makes me think of that case where some dude went missing somewhere around NC/SC/VA. He was married with two kids. Supposedly the perfect marriage. He was found in San Fran with a new life and boyfriend and didn't want anything to do with his kids. I think it was on Dateline or something. He was a real tool.

Nathan Update: I just spoke to an officer in Arcata to file a missing persons report. This officer is familiar with Nathan. She last saw him on the 25th of Nov. and he last had police interaction on the 28th of Nov. The officer took a current photo of Nathan down to the local street kid spots and asked around. One kid claimed to have seen Nathan approx. 2 days ago and Nathan told him he was leaving town but didnt say to where. This seems hopeful and the officer said she would keep in touch. The missing person report has also been filed.

I just checked out the page and here's what it said

"Nathan has been located and is safe and sound, so this page is set for deletion. According to facebook it will take 14 days to be deleted, but the process is started at least. Other than that not going to comment or go into details on any of it, as it's not my place. This is just to say he has been located and I'll be leaving it at that. Thank you to all for your concern, help and everything else in making the effort to find him...it's all very much appreciated to all of you- friends, family, loved ones and those that didn't know him personally."

I can't even remember how I ended up here reading this thread, but dudes and dudettes; Krust died for real not long he was located 'safe', apparently he was killed in a hit and run accident.
