This year?s National Sorry Day marks the
twentieth anniversary of the ?Bringing them Home? report being tabled in parliament, a report that highlighted the historical mistreatment of Aboriginal people. As an important date in our national calendar, it is a day of bringing communities together to express regret, and to acknowledge the ongoing need to work together to build a truly reconciled nation.
The Stolen Generation represent an estimated 100,000 children who were forcibly removed from their Aboriginal families between 1910 and 1970.
