Alanna Gallagher (6) was found dead near her home

The body of a 6-year-old girl found on a Texas street has been identified as Alanna Gallagher, authorities say.
A little "angel" found murdered under a tarp in a quiet suburban Texas neighborhood has been named as six-year-old Alanna Gallagher.

She was discovered by kids a mile from her home in Saginaw, Fort Worth, on Monday night - hours after she went missing.

Stripped naked apart from purple underwear her killer had bound her hands and feet before tying a plastic bag over her head.

The tarp containing her corpse was then dumped in the middle of an intersection, tightly sealed with a belt.
The FBI is now offering $10,000 for information that helps catch the "monster" who abducted the tiny student from her parents' home.
Cops are tracking down several leads, saying a red pick-up truck with a green splotch could have been used in the murder.

So far ruling out her parents as suspects, they are also trying to figure out exactly when Gallagher was taken from her home.
The defense contractor engineer, who has two other children, went door-to-door searching for his daughter.
But two scooter-riding teens Owen Whiddon, 14, and Josh Smith, 18 ? had already found her body hidden under the tarp by around 7:30 p.m.
    Whiddon's father called 911

Horrifying: Alanna Gallagher's body was found under a tarp outside her home on Monday night.

I think it's a little girl in plastic bag someone dropped it off, he told the dispatcher. I haven't even opened it all the way up but I can see the legs and everything. There's a belt around it. Tape.
Shocked neighbors have paid tribute to the curly brown haired child, who they described as an "inquisitive spitfire" who appeared older than she was.

"She seemed smarter than the average, just because of the questions she'd always ask," said John Janus.
"She was a precious little girl. I usually just saw her on her scooter," neighbor Kay Stief added to the Dallas Morning News.
Hundreds attended a candle-light vigil at a Methodist church on Tuesday night. A make-shift street memorial dedicated to the girl is stretching around the block.

Alanna was a kindergartener at Willow Creek Elementary School. She turned six less than three weeks before she was murdered.
Police currently have no suspects and have not yet determined the cause of death.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call 682-888-3682 or 682-888-3684.

Double sorry- I found this interesting.

    Snipped

CBS 11 has also confirmed the items seized from the family’s car – including plastic bags, toilet paper, a blue/gray colored tarp, and different colored tape, including red.
Alanna’s body was found bound with red tape more than a mile from her home. FBI agents left the list of items taken from the family car clearly visible through the window.

Is it just me or do her parents appear old? I mean plenty of people have kids in their early 40s, but they really look like they are well into their 50s, no?

Also, I'll probably feel bad for saying as much, but the dad reminds me of Dennis Rader.

This article mentions another adult male living with the family in their home. I wonder who he is?

I think I have found some interesting info

    http://celticdragonfly.livejournal.com/profile (Laura Gallagher Alannas mother)
    http://fordprfct.livejournal.com/ (Laura's "Honeybear)
    http://selenite.livejournal.com/profile (Karl Gllagher husband)

I'm a mother and a spouse, a geek and a fan. I used to say I was a fiber artist, but that's really on hiatus. I am a serious World of Warcraft addict, and am having a great time with it. I have four kids. The eldest is an autistic teenager living with his dad in California. The three at home range from 4 to 9 years old. I'm married to my darling selenite, and my honeybear fordprfct, as we're polyamorous.

polyamorous is the practice, desire, or acceptance of having more than one intimate relationship at a time with the knowledge and consent of everyone involved

My coworker told me about this two days ago. Saginaw isn't too far from me.
I just can't. Like you cannot let your kids even go outside anymore.
    It's horrifying.

I try to be optimistic and think like, oh well in the '80s we just ran around and played and it was awesome! What is wrong with parents today? Then I see this shit. Tragic isn't even enough to describe this.

i've been reading about this and i can't even begin to express how i feel about this situation. looking at that adorable little girl and then reading the description of how she was found? ugh. absolutely heartbreaking. we don't even know what happened to her before she was killed. just her being found in that state is degrading and disturbing and everything that is evil.

and wth with the polyamory and the dude living with the family? how the fuck long have they known this dude that they would be fine moving him in to a house with their children?

not even on l&o svu. smh.

I cant..... when I was young (too many years ago) we just always had to be in when the light posts came on. I never worried about being killed or snatched! Today I keep my kid as close to me as possible and if she is even 5 minutes late coming home I panic! Our kids should not have to live in fear......just sayin.

    Papers Karl wrote
    http://www.kelthaven.org/papers/

From reading their sites-they sure do seem like a weird couple.

On Friday, officers were back in her Saginaw neighborhood, interviewing neighbors. Investigators left a home two doors down from Gallagher's home with a brown paper bag similar to what police use to collect evidence. However, it's unclear why they were there or if it was related to Gallagher's killing.

Gallagher's father said the family is devastated and not ready to talk to the media.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for Gallagher's death.
    http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/Sag...214406491.html

Police said that the family is not suspected in the murder of the 6-year-old girl. In fact, the Saginaw Police Department does not have any suspects at this time. Yet, police spokesman Officer Damon Ing said that authorities believe this is an isolated case. ?I can assure the community of Saginaw and all surrounding communities that you are perfectly safe in this community,? Ing said.

Saginaw resident Angelica Castro questioned how police could assure her family?s safety while no suspects have been named. ?It?s not adding up to what they are saying,? she said. ?Something is not right.?

The FBI spent much of Tuesday searching the Gallagher home, located less than two miles away from where the 6-year-old?s body was found.

An evidence receipt list was left in clear sight, inside of a car parked in front of the Gallagher home on Wednesday afternoon. It showed that police collected a blue-gray tarp, electrical tape and plastic Walmart bags from the car. Detectives also removed dozens of items from the Gallagher home on Tuesday.

The 6-year-old girl?s body was found by two teenage boys on Monday evening. She was naked and had been wrapped in a tarp, her hands and feet bound and her head covered in a plastic shopping bag. According to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner, she died shortly before being found by the teens. She had just celebrated a birthday on June 12, less than three weeks before her death.

This is the facebook account of the local newspaper.
    https://www.facebook.com/SaginawTexasNews

It seems that a lot of the locals suspect from the evidence collected from the car that all match what was found with the girl, points at somebody in that house. Also the fact that the girl was found at 7:30 but the parents didn't report her missing until 9.
Then the police tell the residents they have no reason to worry or fear for their kids. huh? Mix all that in with the fact that the parents let their 6 year old ride all over the neighborhood without any supervision.

Lots of people seem to believe somebody in that house was involved. Of course, that's just rumors at this point.

This is for Saginaw, TX. Not Michigan

Horrifying crime. Curious to me that the family is not being suspected but the little girl wasn't reported missing until 2 hours after her body was found. And that they are telling people they think it's an isolated incident and people have nothing to worry about. That makes no sense. How do they know that?????? No POI has been named, the family isn't suspect.....okaaaaaaay

No, it has to be someone inside that house, or they already have a suspect and are not saying anything. Why would they tell the public that they should not worry or fear about this happening to their kids? No, they know something. Poor baby. This is horrible.

I agree. It had to be someone in that community, and I'll bet the police know more than they're saying. Hopefully this is so that they make sure to do things right in terms of the investigation.

There was another 6 year old from Saginaw kidnapped and killed in 1999 - about 2 blocks from Alanna's house. Her remains were not found until 2003.

I read on the Saginaw News FB (in a comment) that Miles was Alanna's bio father not Karl.
